Asmongold clears Garuda EX
-
-
Just like I did a few days ago with 6 sprouts in mentor roulette.
Titan will be the first real challenge.

min ilvl, no echo. Is not just like you did in mentor roulette.

I’m glad he’s enjoying it. I was pretty sceptical when I heard he planned to try it, but I’m thoroughly enjoying watching his play through. Bit jealous that he’s able to do the old exes synced - I always wanted to do them that way but with a long queue, it’s never been possible.
-
So this deserves its own thread huh?
Must be a slow day.

OP has one combat class 80, all crafters/gatherers 80, it's a Titanman thread *shrugs* May as well have fun with it I guess
-
Next thread : Asmongold was eating an apple.
-
What must it be like, to have so little identity of your own that you spend your days spamming an internet forum pretending to be six different people.

I just answered on the things I know without watching the video.
But anyway, he probably had 7 experienced player to help him. That makes the whole fight a lot easier.
It is also just a healer check due to the inflated potencys.
But probs to him to actually doing them in the hardest possible way.

He had some players with experience but... There was some awful "legends". One or two definitely bought the clears.
His OT was a "look at me" PLD but was doing well I believe.
It took 1h10 to clear Garuda EX while it should've been more like 30 mins if the level was more homogenized.
Other than that he went blind with people explaining the mechanics to him, they struggled with spinning feather.
But that was honestly good to watch.

Titan was mainly an issue due to latency causing landslide to kill you if you didn't move before the markers were visible.

Even without min ilvl I hope he is starting to understand the gulf between "hard" and "extreme". I can tell you ONE THING watching him do fights in WoW vs FF14 is way way way different experience. WoW fights rely on too much RNG and class stacking where as with enough practice and getting the dance correctly you can see he got the difference.
-
It was fun to watch, but the thing I noticed is he is playing the game as if it's WoW, which is why he had a hard time initially (that and never actually reading/understanding his abilities). At one point during the stream he asked "what's a tank buster?"
I haven't really done WoW raiding since Cata, but I don't think WoW has tank busters, or at least not in the same way FF has them. So it didn't surprise me he didn't really see Holmgang as an ability worth using initially.

Every raid boss in wow has tank-busters, it's just the thing that forces the tanks to swap.
Holmgang much like Living Dead, Hallowed Ground and Superbolide are just emergency skills that shouldn't be needed if everything goes as planed.

Every day is a slow day.
It's not like these threads are disrupting some whirlwind of activity here. I'm sure the other 3 active conversations will still manage to stay on the front page somehow.

Well you can cheese out TBs with aforementioned skills, so no, they are more than red buttons

I wouldn't be too judgmental, no one is perfect and even Legends can easily make mistakes or forget older fights. Half an hour for a min-ilv EX with no Echo and a blind sprout MT is a bit of a stretch. Besides, they seemed to have fun and they cleared.
It was good to watch though. It was nice to see him picking up on basics as he went and noticing where he needed keybinds or wasn't spending Rage enough. The best way to get good at hard content is by jumping in, willing to wipe and learn and just giving it a go really.

not too surprise i remember Lobos jr done the same on his first playthrough did some syncd ex primals

Didn't know Lobos played this game. I always associated him with Souls games.

You can clear any content synced. But it requires approaching people over discord/active FC. Networking.
-
I agree. Asmongold will make others do this more often so why not just merging all of it.
-
Up next asmongold is not made up of gold or pokemons...

What? Immunities aren't emergency skills. They're a core utilized skill of any good tank player's toolkit. There's a reason tanks build them into their mitigation timelines for extreme/savage/ultimate fights: they're way too powerful to not use as many chances as you can get.
Why bother with lightly skimping by on Golden bahamut's Ahk Morn x 4 tank buster rotation in the final phase of UCOB when you can extreme brute force mitigate it by going ALL CDs -> Immunity -> Immunity > ALL CDS? Why bother setting up extensive party mitigation for Shiva's 3 morn afahs in E8s when you can immunity 2/3 of the ones in the final burn?
As far as the topic, it was quite an interesting watch. made me feel like I was back in 2.1 again. It'll be fun to watch him do Titan EX, or Coils synced.

lol yeah basically this. I am sure it gives the moderators something to read other then male bunny boys or female rhotgar threads.

I'm surprised we don't have an Asmongold Accomplishments thread just so we could have everything in a single thread. Makes things nice and neat, and we don't get spammed with new threads. But that's probably asking too much.
-
That was very fun watching live! I'm so glad my hero is already doing min ilevel no echo extremes! :)
-
Very thrilling and entertaining, but can't help but think that if most other people were to do what he did with his class in the encounter, we'd have a lot of screaming and crying people.

How dare you propose a completely rational idea.

I bet if asmogold picked his nose and auction his own booger, his fans will flock all over it and fight over it

Okay that's fine but why need to post about it? especially in the fourms like who cares

Ask the person that elected to post "No One Cares" in the very same thread. Same to you really. You cared enough to respond in the very thread. If you don't care, or if you don't like it then don't post. It costs you more energy to respond to the thread than it does to ignore it.
I would like to say it can act as an opportunity for a lot of people within the community to attempt the older extreme primals and content on a regular basis. Or at the very least be more open to that idea.

I don't care about what he did or didn't do... I do care that the forums are getting flooded with updates on his playing.
Stated in another thread, had never heard of the man before all his fanboys started gushing all over the forums... looked him up, decided he seems like a massive jerk, and now am sick of seeing everyone talking about someone who, frankly, is undeserving of the attention he's getting. Don't mistake my posting in the thread as caring about the person or what he's up to in the game.

Like I said, over a hundred thousand people seemingly cared. I'd take this thread over a lot of other threads that occur on a daily basis, as would many people, but alas you don't see everyone here going into threads they don't care about and trying to assert their will upon other people. It's just not really good etiquette. So once again, if you don't like it, or if you don't care then ignore it.
It's a forum, if you can't handle people creating discussion topics about subjects that you don't care about then perhaps you should reconsider your actions. Many people external to this game will be reading this thread, and it gives them a chance to see people discuss the topic matter, but alas you seem to be more focused on trying to tell people on a public, a public forum mind you what they should and shouldn't care about.

If you can't handle what actions people on a public forum take with respect to what they post, or if you cannot restrain yourself sufficiently enough as to not demean or derail the conversation, then perhaps you should reconsider your actions. You'd be crying as hard if people elected to assert themselves in your threads and telling you that nobody cares.
