How will the subscription fair with Asmongold?
He would of brought sub's into the game, will he cause subscription loss and therefore break even?
Surplus, or deficit?
does Asmongold media attention add to or subtract from the game?

Sorry, my crystal ball went on strike.
I don’t know who he is but pseudo celebrities will do that. Imagine if Mr Beast or some other fake celebrity joined the game? Any person with a following will do that
Probably a boost to free trials at least.
Kinda hard to attribute subs to anything else when people can just play the game themselves for free and see if they want to sub or not.
It will be difficult to tell because Endwalker is going to cause a massive boost in subscriptions.
So far on steam was new online record - 47,542 all-time peak due to Asmon streams.
And also new record on twitch in ff section too - 221,605 viewers.
Frogstone give it up ok? We can all smell trolls. Like your post before this one.
Man who cares about this person, like imagine talking about someone instead of, idk talking about something more important like the homogenized jobs or what job actions will be removed from the next expansion..
Idk why people are so up this persons ass
More budget to make FFXIV better?
I hate when people think all the money that FFXIV makes goes straight to XIV when it really doesn't, it goes to other resources at SE, just like the money that ff7r makes, FFXI, ect.
And i seen asmogold stream, hes a person who very vulgar and has alot of bias opinions, i dont think SE should be promoting someone like that.
I don't see why he'd reduce subs. I guess it's possible but not likely to be anything of significance.
Long term, he'll probably have a small impact on subs. Some people will try ffxiv and enjoy it. They'll stay. Eventually though I think he'll go back to WoW. When he does a lot of the people who followed him will also leave.
There are currently a lot of shrubs in game Most of us came over before he did. He's talking about FFXIV because every day WoW fans started talking about it. He's just following the money by doing what everyone is talking about.
Asmongold trying out FFXIV is sort of a long time coming. WoW has been falling apart and the main reason a lot of streamers were sticking to it exclusively was the views they got and the fact it was a very nostalgic game. A lot of people played it back in the glory days and gave up later on it when things turned sour.
Bellular and other content creators also moved to play FFXIV and are actively promoting it due to the direction World of Warcraft was taking. My own opinion is that WoWs days are numbered. WoW Classic was the last big hurrah: A swan song to a once great game that tons of people loved.
Hate to break it to you but WoW moved away from the “Do content, get gear” method or as you want to call it “instant gratification”. Now they’ve moved over to more of what you see in a mobile game. Conduits upgraded randomly, and raid gear can drop with random stats.
If any game has instant gratification, it’s our game.
Not sure about subs, but he sure moved the needle on twitch. Companies pay people for that kind of exposure. I am not sure you could pay him though. He seems like if he didn't like something he would call it out anyways. And generally the people you pay shouldn't take shots at your game.
Well, we all know now that it's clearly a huge increase, considering the game ran out on the store... And these are probably not merely free trial players. Not to say this is only Asmongold's influence. There's also Cohh, Bellular, etc.
And close to every world is now full apparantely lol
If you say 100% of what we pay in goes back into the game then, yeah, that's very naive. But the approved budget for the next expansion etc. does improve. And why wouldn't it.
Putting in more to get even more back sounds like a valid business strategy. Unless you are EA or Activison where you try to see with how much you can get away with. That's also something Blizz is learning, but that's neither here nor there.
Sub money goes straight to SE corporate, but Yoshi P has said in the past that at the very least, cash shop money goes into the XIV budget.
It's sort of how like in my software office IRL our license fees from our clients goes to our parent department to cover our salaries and overhead and stuff, but any time we win grant money we get to keep it for ourselves.
