Suggestion for FFXIV Endgame Content

Hello! I would like to submit a suggestion to help improve the gameplay experience for those who desire to play higher level content such as EX Trials. I would like to ask if for the Duty Finder, players could be allowed to play the duty with a Trust Party like they can do with some of the dungeons. I believe this would help provide players with the practice required so that they can be prepared to engage with other players when completing the duty. In this mode, I would suggest that the user would still need to know all the mechanics and meet all requirements, but, completing the duty in Trust Mode would not count as a clear and would not provide the user with any loot that would normally drop in such trials. This would incentivize players to still seek out the community to clear each Ex Trials and have a chance at the rewards offered upon completion. I believe that this could also help provide the opportunity to relieve some frustrations that occur with running higher level content with other players and increase confidence for those who wish to begin playing the higher level content. Honest question. What would the point of this be? Doing it with a group of 7 AI that do everything perfectly wouldn't translate fully into doing it with a group of 7 other people who might make mistakes at every step of the way. Especially for healers, it'd be almost useless.

Nah, I prefer higher-end content to be socially-gated in an mmo. There’s plenty of content for soloers, but that doesn’t mean all content needs to be soloable.

Resources such as The Balance wouldn’t exist if this endgame community didn’t want to encourage people to get to the point where they can participate.

If someone isn’t going to put the effort into preparing themselves for endgame or savage, trust carries aren’t going to teach them anyway.

Resources already exist, but an enhanced sss dummy with a personal rating is about the only concession I’d be willing to make for console players. Trust clears are off the table.

I think you misunderstand me. I made it very clear in the proposal that this would not count as a clear. It's simply a way to basically have learning parties without having to do it with humans. I proposed this because it is often difficult to find learning parties when you want to practice something. I'm sorry but I am not about gatekeeping game content socially. We all pay the same amount to play.

Can you imagine?

SE: Here is an extreme trial, one of the hard endgame contents. We hope players can have fun figuring out the mechanics and working out different strategy that fit with their party.
Also SE: (makes a practice mode with trust AI doing the mechanic properly) Hey guys, here's how to do the mechanics!

In alll seriousness tho, the trust's AI is just not sophisticated enough to handle the usual ex trials and savages mechanics, let alone to adjust to million different variables that might occur during the course of an encounter. How are they gonna make the AI prioritize things?
It will affect how they design a trial and their creativity with the AI limitation.

They specifically called out that no rewards would be given for doing this. I don't think they are asking for the ability to clear it solo.

I think their idea is that something like this would help people with their confidence by being able to practice the fight and learn without inconveniencing other players and then getting harassed and put down.

They did not ask for the entry requirements to be changed or for the clear requirements to be changed. They are looking for a way to make gaining experience easier and I think I agree with them. I think this could be a good thing as long as they kept all rewards out of this mode and it was simply practice only.

I don't see where they mentioned being a console player. I am not sure why you would be against something that could help people make the jump from the normal content to EX and Savage. There is very little to help players make this jump, I think this could, and does not belittle the achievements of others. That is SE's job with unsync and overgearing.

This already exists. Just start a practice party with beginners welcome set. You’ll have 7 npcs to wreck mechanics with in no time.

Not only is it easy, this AI is top tier: you can converse with the bots, offer suggestions to change their behavior in aoes, and even have them appreciate your very witty one-liners.

You even get clear bonuses if you somehow manage to succeed, and the developers don’t need to waste more time creating content than they already do.

Honestly, trusts and other such AI partner type content should only be for things that are required for the MSQ with the exception of the Crystal Tower series as those alliance raids are done fairly frequently given the fact that there are enough players who do the Alliance roulette that cheese their iLvl to get one of them.

Extreme Trials are not required to be done for the MSQ. Therefore, I do not feel like they should get a Trust/Squadron system.

And this is coming from someone who always attempts to do the dungeons with the Trust system before using the Duty Finder.

I am not going to lie. I was wondering why is there no way to practice savage on your own as well before I actually started practising.

In my opinion, practising the content is the most interesting and engaging part of the whole experience. That process is more fun when you are with people, at least the right kind of people. Once you have learned the fight it becomes an ordinary and/or easy thing to do repeatedly and the grinding begins. I guess the same can be said about the ex trials.

If they had to make AI able to execute even EX level mechanics, I imagine the limitations of the AI would shape what mechanics they're able to implement.
I don't want an "features" that lessen the content they're attached to.

I’d like a huge dungeon, a true dungeon with traps loot ect. Like a raid but not designated to a platform like what ff14 calls it.

I mean whats wrong with learning parties?

Another problem no one has mentioned is - you would be used to the cues the AIs give you for avoiding mechanics, and once you join a party of players, you won't have those cues anymore and start flubbing the mechanics all over again. I run into this in the trust dungeons some. I can't even imagine how much worse it would be with more difficult mechanics.

I think special fate boss must remain difficult. e.g. Odin & Behemoth. They should still mass murder ilvl530s

How about having a Stone Sky Sea dummy for each EX and Savage fight (I still don't know why we don't have that).

They could also have a dummy you can set a timer on. When the timer ticks down the dummy becomes untargetabld for a bit (maybe you can set the duration for that too). Give players a way to practice having their rotation interrupted. Then when they go into a fight they have no reason to think about their rotations and what buttons they're pressing and can just focus on mechanics.
Maybe make a healer dummy that hits back so you can practice something other than Broiling haha.

Perhaps not a particular savage mechanics training with trusts but more of a practice instance with a common mechanics encountered in savage and ex-trials. Not only practicing avoiding AOEs, but also stack mechanics, shared damage, proximity damage, gaze mechanic, cleansing debuffs, near/far pairing, soaking towers, baiting aoe/boss, etc.

These are all common mechanics found in savage and ex-trials. By having players practicing these and get used to different markers and tells, hopefully they'll be more ready to practicing the actual encounter in PF/DF. Improving your general raiding skills and awareness is better in long term.

I think new guildhests would be a great idea. They could make each guildest based on various different mechanics introduced in new and previous ex fights. Each guildhest could contain 1 or 2, maybe 3 mechanics at most, and that would be great way to practice. How many different mechanics each ex trial does have? Like 10-12 or so? Why not break them down and put them to like 5 guildhests for easy learning?
