Request to allow a piece of class-specific gear to drop at the end of every dungeon

I'd just like to ask the dev team to allow this capability for every dungeon. For those of us vying for glamour (I'm looking at you, Warg casting head gear), it would be nice if we could get a piece at the end of each dungeon like we do in the default ones for the expansion.

Not sure if this is with all dungeons, but all the levelling dungeons I have played already does this. You get a class specific gear at the end of the dungeon put directly in your inventory. The game gives you a piece you are not currently holding on your person, and for the job you are currently running.

Yes, it's only for levelling dungeons. For endgame ones, it's all about RNG and luck

As someone who did Skalla 472 times (I got it in patch 5.2) before I saw ONE aiming top drop (I wasn't losing rolls, it just literally never dropped) please do this. At the very least add it to be purchasable after 99 tokens. After 200 runs, I didn't even want the top anymore I just did it out of sheer spite.

I remember hating Stormblood very intensely and taking a 6 month break which is the longest I've ever been away from this game, and the Skalla top was one of the main reasons why.

Yes PLEASE. Make this a thing for the Alliance Raids too. I understand not having it for the level cap dungeons to incentivize people running it, but they really ought to enable it for past expansions since people are going to be running it unsynced for glam anyway.

I too, farmed Skalla more times than I would care to admit. As I have repeatedly stated for the RNG aspects of this game, not knowing when or if you are going to get what you are looking for hurts the most, so having a fail-safe and knowing that you will get it no matter what after putting in the work goes a long way and even helps keep you motivated. That's why I appreciate the totem system so much.

Like with EX mounts, I could understand it if they didn't wanna have guaranteed drops for each duty right out of the gate, but when a duty leaves the EX roulette that would be a prime time to add a guaranteed drop.

But however they do it I'd just like to see it happen.

Put a vendor in major cities that sells dungeon gear for, say, Poetics, since everyone always seems to have so many. But you have to have the exploration achievement for a given instance to buy gear from that instance, and nothing in the current Expert roulette, to keep people running them. Maybe leave out the most recent set of Alliance raids, too (not specifically the YoRHa raids, just whichever is the current level cap of the expansion), for the same reasons.

I think keeping things as-is for the level 80 dungeons is intentional and not a bad thing as it keeps people populating the content. But I do think that as the level cap rises, the previous end game dungeons guaranteeing a direct drop wouldn't be a bad thing. So your Skalla runs (as someone else mentioned) would give a direct drop. But your drops from Paglathan currently would not, at least not till November when Endwalker comes out.

I second this. The OP's suggestion would make it harder if you're trying to gear up an alt class by running on your main.

At least then i would be able to clean out the inventory a bit...

Yeah, it would be great for inventory. So many things I'm hanging on to not because I have plans for them but purely because I may never see another one drop if I throw them away now.

Talked about this a while ago with FC mates.

If SE refuses to do it on current dungeons they should at least turn it on when a new expansion comes out and the dungeons are obsolete.

This is 100% why my inventory is bloated with gear that won't fit into the armoire anymore. I don't want to deal with the RNG of obtaining things again.

OH you're right, I forgot all about that feature but that's also a great idea. And if they want to keep people running the dungeons, it's fine not to include the pieces while the dungeons are relevant. But glamour is the true endgame and I swear I absolutely hate the Grand Cosmos now because I've done it so many times.

I think SE latch onto the "glamour is the true endgame too much" and assume people will happily chase after whatever ugly dungeon sets they throw out. As we learned with the Bozja sets, many people aren't that interested in glamour. It's usually the Map fashions, skimpy items and clothing sets that are chased after more often than the typical fantasy gear.

All it really serves is burning out a small handful of players who are looking for the one half-decent item among the new dungeon sets that matches their specific glam.

You're contradicting yourself. People aren't chasing the "ugly" sets, they're chasing the sets (or pieces of sets) that they like.

And how did Bozja demonstrate that people aren't that interested in glamour? The most you could learn from it is that people aren't interested in that specific piece or don't think it worth the hoops they are expected to jump through to acquire it.

Though I've seen people wearing glamours from the Bozja sets in any case, so I'm not sure what you're claiming is the proof.
