FanFest Moogle Tomestone Exchange

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but I didn't realize the FanFest tomestone event wouldn't allow item trade-ins after the event was over (which was the case for every other moogle tomestone event we've had so far). I'm sitting on nearly 400 tomestones because I wanted to take my time to decide on how to spend them once the frenzy of earning them died down.

Is there.. no way to get them to be redeemed..? ._.

I've just been hit by the same thing. :( I really thought we'd still be able to turn them in at least today. I had been saving them so that's...a huge bummer.

Welcome on board, I on the other end knew it will not be possible to exchange after, but realised 20 minutes after the reset that it was reset.
I guess we need to pray they will reuse them in the future within some other event

I doubt they'll ever use those again, at this point they simply serve as a "hey these exist" kind of thing, like some of the items they left in from 1.0. At least the yokai medals may be usable again some day.

They warned you every single time you logged into the game.

So...

I didn't know about it... Thankfully some 12 hours before the event ended, someone in a linkshell I'm in warned us. I was able to get some stuff to sell later. I warned my friends and my fc about it as well, so I did my part to help, but it sucks for everyone that was unaware. Saving them to spend later was my plan as well, so it could have been me.

Already deleted my leftovers. Might as well as you're not likely to see them ever used again.

This almost happened to me too. It was out of sudden paranoia that I hunkered down yesterday and spent all that I could because I wasn't sure if I'd have time to play today. However, I had thought that it would still be possible to earn some more and get 1-2 more items today.

I didn't realize that the cutoff literally already happened. >_<

And to note, I realize now that I didn't pay close attention to the cutoff time, for some reason I presumed it'd be part of the weekly reset, never occurred to me that it'd be otherwise... Now I know better for the future. ^_^

This is really annoying, the moogle should always sell everything from previous currency, no exceptions.

So now I am supposed to spend my gil on the furniture I already earned to someone that bought 20 of them?

Come on SE, be decent about this.

Please give us another chance to spend them. There are ppl (like myself) - working in 3 shifts and/or on weekends AND have real life responsibilities for family members - who just aren't able to be super up to date regarding such time-frames, letting alone reading/remembering some small texts on the lodestone post or ingame when logging in, when you want to actually play the game if you got time, and not to read up on updates for half an hour before you are good to go.

This is even more reasonable as it was always possible to still exchange mog tomes until the next event after the collection-period of an event was over.

I find it lowkey a kick in our moogle butts (sorry, language!) that it was handled differently this time. And am not alone with it, as it seems, as there are multiple tweets and forum posts saying the same thing like me, at this state it's almost so dissapointing to see these stones in my inventory, that I almost dont even want to login and play anymore.

Yes I am also disapointet of myself, that I did not read carefully enough / remember too, but I think the beforementioned points are valid enough to be reasonable.

Having them farmed in any way we did, invested our time on earnign them, just to have them as "dead currency" now, is, like I said, dissapointing and not fair at all. Always remember, time is limited, it should not been treated as if it's wothless.

Hmmm.... i knew about it but my question is: Why ? What makes them diffrent to the others, wich can still be traded ? Weird stuff....

It wasn't your average Mogtome event. It was tied to Fanfest. There was more items than usual, along with double tomestone gains as a celebration of sorts.

Whelp... I didn't realize this was a time-limited thing either and now I have like 600 worthless tomes lol. There's literally no reason why these tomes should not be able to be spent after the event has ended like past events, and it's honestly pretty annoying that SE randomly switched up how these things work from from other recent Moogle tomestone events, which allow you to spend your tomes after the event is over.

Just because you got double tomes from this event doesn't at all justify disallowing players to spend them shortly after the event has ended. This one really baffles me.

The deadline made sense along with the warning, because it looks like they did this event without tying the end to a new patch.

So they'd have to do another patch if they wanted to allow use of those newer mogtomes post-deadline. That's not to say the next one will.

Which wouldn't have been hard since we should be seeing the 5.56 patch next month as it is plus they've tentatively announce the 5.57/.58 patch for Data Center travel for August.

It makes little sense to allow players to earn tomestones in the last minutes of the event but then not give them the chance to spend what was just earned. Imagine finishing up a dungeon with 3 minutes left in the event so you get what you need to make a final purchase only to miss out because you got stuck on a loading screen trying to teleport to the vendor so the vendor disappeared right as you arrived. It's a bit of an outlier situation but I'd be surprised if it didn't happen to at least a few players who were making good faith attempts to spend what they had just earned.

We get that with the normal moogle event. We get that with end game scrip and tomestones when a new expansion is released (just go to Mor Dhona and convert what was leftover).

I understand this was a special event related to FanFest but there still should be a gap between last chance to earn and last chance to spend, even if that gap amounts to only a day.

welp, rip my tomestones... would be nice If they could bring shop back for like a week but I doubt it

Yeah this really sucks been busy all week and didnt get to cash out, makes no sense to remove the vendor option.

Due to a trip for my company, I was unable able to log in during the tail end of the event. Imagine my surprise when I logged in and discovered I discovered I could no longer exchange my Pageantry at all. This is other than good.

Please make it possible to do the exchange. ;)
