Nice diary bro
Oh just what we need. This comment is just such an easy target for the trolling masses on these forums to upvote. :|
You can't just tell people their diary is nice now when you have so many things stacked against you. I'm very saddened by this reply, and I think it should be deleted before it misconstrues the tone of my diary compliment. Please stop bullying me.
So wait, is this complaining about a lack of armoury chest space, or a lack of space for glams? I can't tell if this is a legitimate concern about not being able to have the space for Reaper gear, or just Yet Another General Complaint About Glam Plates.
I have gear for every job to 80 and I have no issues with armoury chest space. Sucks that you'd sooner deprive yourself of an opportunity to play a new job you're ostensibly interested in rather than actually try to address your inventory/hoarding issue, but SE is not exactly to blame for your choice here. If you cared enough, you could make this work.
We were clearly never intended to have one individual plate for each class. And if the rollout rate on additional plates is anything to go by, I wouldn't expect to eventually have one for each class, either.Quote:
There should also be more more outfit spaces beyond the fifteen that we already have, considering that there are a LOT of jobs in the game.
Regardless, this issue can be gotten around by not putting class-specific gear on your plates, but coming up with some more general sets that multiple classes can use.
It's a complaint about both, and why should I have to be restricted to general gear sets? I want to be able to have things match my jobs. -sigh- Why do I even try on these forums anymore. All people do is act negative to me. I'm not allowed to have any valid concern anymore. I've already been labeled as a target. Couldn't possibly post anything here anymore without being taken in a negative way.
I will probably only level Reaper and maybe just maybe play it if it has a lit rotation.
Wait that's not the topic?
Oh, poor inventory management? Listen boy, with friends we made a challenge. Who could shave the most out of their glamour dressing, retainers and inventory. That was before Zadnor.
We went from 400 to under 80 slots taken for the glamour dressing.
Inventory was shaved by half, apart for the weapons armory, all armor and accessories went under 10 slots taken. I'll have to shave again as I'm done with Zadnor.
All retainers were cleaned and one has 100 slots takens.
We figured that we were not using 80% of our inventory. There is no need for more glamour plate, I have all of them filled but only use 4-5 of them. We're not playing every jobs, I haven't touched Ninja, BLM, SMN, RDM, MNK, BRD and DNC since I leveled them to 80.
In short: Manage your inventory in a better way, it's not SQEX fault if you are stacking unused items you think you'll use later.
Because them giving us enough plates to have a separate one for each class isn't going to happen. And since you don't seem to have a "main" or are willing to pick favorites, this would be your next best option with regard to the plates.Quote:

Well, you're not going to be able to have that just with glamour plates. The limit has remained 15 plates for how long, now? Maybe they'd up it to 20 "soon", but I don't see it going much higher than that anytime soon, and that's still not going to be enough for 1 for each class.Quote:

So either you need to carry gear to manually glamour around (still quite doable; right now I'm still carrying around the level 80 AF sets for all of the level 80 combat classes in addition to all the gear I actually use, for instance), or you will just need to suck it up and deal somehow. Regardless, you electing not to play Reaper is a you problem, not a SE problem. Again, if you cared enough, you would find a way to resolve your problem somehow.
Tbf though it's possible atm to have a unique glamour for each combat job (having non-shared gear, DRG, NIN, and BLU assuming the other casters are at 80 don't need their own plates) and I'd be sad if they don't add at least 3 plates to accommodate the two new jobs (since DRG would need its own plate as well now)
Lurks behind the corner the whispers, “The internet never forgets.”
Waddles away back into the shadows.
Yeah, X on that one chief.
Eh i personally trash any belt i dont have on due to them having no display value so that change doesnt mean much to me,
As for other inventory.. I organize and set things around and still have issues...
I mean monster drops to have for when i want to craft something using em have to keep them other wise im out wasting hours trying to get a good amount or paying like 30k for hides/bones etc, i only have my current usefull tools and weapons and half my armory space is out...
And i desync all useless stuff yet i struggle to keep 5 invetory slots, havijg to reorganize and desync for an hour from things auto giving me gear without rolling... And there so many things that i do plan on using to make alt jobs gear for lvling.... Overall id say invetory space is poor vs what we use/need for self productive play..
That said, most glamor outfits in my eyes kinda trashy there maybe 12 i view as decent.. Sad thing if any is most decent glams are mog stationed lol
As for anything else reaper looks way better than smn.. It is kinda sad its darker than drk though

I mean, you don't have to look at this anymore if it makes you uncomfortable but the odds of it being deleted are slim. If you know how the forums work already and it doesn't seem like an ideal environment for your own mental health...might just be a better idea to not be around it.
since they deleted it, what is going om?
I wonder... One thing I've noticed is that their code runs on a very (weirdly) constrained inventory space limit, to the point that they will use the slots of belts to increase weapons and rings.
I kind of noticed that the "Key items" section has a huge availability of slots - I wonder if these couldn't be used? Especially because since the quest log is limited, there's no way you can fill that space.
well we are only getting more weapons and ring slots with the removal of the belt also some of it will but in reserve for rainy days.
Their inventory system is a mess, basically. There was a post from one of the technical developers a while back explaining that the items work in "blocks" (originally 25, now 35 items per block). The blocks of inventory can't be added to because they shortsightedly put a block for something else immediately following it and now they can't expand inventory without an excessive amount of back-end work, which is why they added the saddlebag as an isolated second inventory.
Also the "huge amount of slots" for key items are apparently an illusion and a result of the inventory UI layout. They're not able to take items, but the key items just switch on and off according to quests and expand into the space.
A lot of the key item slots are reserved for botanist and miner levequest items. There's usually two types for each levequest, so the design is to account for someone picking up a whole bunch of levequests and having two items from each in their key item section.
Which, incidentally, could probably be streamlined - but for now, they sit in the key item section until the levequest is handed in.
the same day they expanded the glam dresser i filled it up to the max....i really wish we could have something similar to what WoW does for glams. it SE doesn’t want to seem to address the issue which is sad.
@OP I'm late to the party, so I don't even know what your original post was aside from lack of space...
So, may I humbly suggest paying an extra buck for an extra retainer?
Or, alternatively, if you can make alts.. move non-essentials to them (and their retainers) Stuff like crafting goods/food/fireworks/etc.
Alternatively-alternatively:
- Dump any gear you're not going to be using for future jobs in the near future (like, don't even bother stocking stuff you might use eventually; you can farm up gear super easy when its needed)
- Dump duplicates (No need to have 6 colors of the same item!)
- Dump any gear you can either make or buy for less than like 1,000 gil.
- Level up your jobs together so you don't have to keep various levels of armor. Also
Otherwise- sorry you're having issues w/ inventory.
OP my armory chest is clogged with glamour overflow items I'm always struggling to find room for elsewhere.
I'm with you in feeling restricted when it comes to picking up more classes... : (
It does take some effort to manage inventory space if you level everything, but it's not that hard if you put your mind to it and take some time to organize.
Some things that can help though:
If you plan to level everything, level things that share gear together. So that if say you level both dragoon and reaper, you don't need to keep multiple maiming pieces because one is at level 80 and the other at 86 etc.
Use the armorie when you can.
Use your retainers, chocobo saddle bag, and glamour dressers for glam items you want to keep but aren't actively using.
Never got to read the original post but I think I got the gist of it. Yeah, inventory space is a bit of a problem. Even so, it can be managed in some ways. I have a LOT of space used up, but I always find a way to make things work. Just need to prioritize what you keep, mostly. There's no real way to keep literally every single piece of gear in the game, so...
Can't imagine how they handle retainer inventories. That can take up to an hour to clean up if you want to auction stuff off.
That said not being able to manage your own inventory seems a little ridiculous.
What with the additional space in Chocobo Saddlebags and later this year the deletion of belts.
Ring inventory needs to be fixed! Belt removed give us double ring bags!!!
OP deleted his/her post. Is this another one of the regular forum post where it is better to speak to a therapist than to vent to strangers online?
