Is this already good? Hamlet Defend (large scale PvE) is an instance!!

so far, considering a lot of pro and con fighting in my mind, I have no input into this.

But what do you guys think? is this what you like? When I heard of large scale PVE Yoshida mentioned, I always thought of multiple party hold their hand together..

When you enter Hamlet Defense, you'll just see your party. But I'm sure multiple parties can join in simultaneously.

well thats crap. I thought it'd be like the garlean invasions, but you could enter instances if you found them outside the hamlet or something.

Its casue the game engine cant handle more then 40 players/npcs/mobs at once, look at the empire event. For now to do loarge scale stuff its going to have to be liek this, least till 2.0

I'm sort of glad it's not an open ended version, everyone in the server would be cramming in to fight and it'd cause massive lag. Also those who don't want to participate needn't worry about seeing a huge battle clogging up their screen. A few quests take place in that area already (As do they in other hamlets around Eorzea.) so can you imagine how difficult it'd be to do these if you have to worry about mobs gang raping you the moment you stepped inside? Plus achievement NPCs happen to be in the same area for a few hamlets too.

It's not demanding anything, I'm just saying lol.

It was clearly advertised as open-world, not instanced; if it's not instanced when 2.0 comes around, that'll just be ridiculous as the reasoning for it being instanced is lolserverstructure.

halmet defense was not touted as large scale PvE, even though it is a bit more so than some content because during the support phase, any number of people might be involved.

The current system cannot tolerate giant battles with a ton of people and enemies. If it did work, you'd basically see 39 people and 1 enemy and things would be popping in and out whenever you moved 2 feet.

It was NOT advertised as an open world battle. Please post link to dev post where it was stated that hamlet defense had open world battles.

I find it really amusing that people voted in polls earlier that they wanted more instanced content, now content is instanced and people complain.

I guess you haven't done an imperial event with several people participating. The engine can't handle it. Especially in Gridania. I cannot begin to imagine what it would be like if it were open world. It would be a disaster.

Honestly, I would have preferred this wait till a point where they can have over 40 characters so it's something more than a glorified behest with land and hand content.

Garlean invasion event... garleans 5 feet away from me werent loading, i would steel cyclone and hit shite i couldnt see..

i wanted open world large scale PVE , its just not realistic with these servers everyone.. stop lying to yourselves lol...

I never had any apparent issues loading them, nor beastmen in stronghold. Is it something to do with personal specs then? People also mention lag in Uldah, and I never noticed it myself to be honest (obviously you need to wait for people to load, but it was never "laggy" ).

It would be a nightmare, they didnt promise this event would be largescale, only that such things were coming. In point of fact, based on the description 25 hours of continuous battle if you choose and your party wishes to hang with you sounds awesome.

Teamwork over attempting to steal kills and hog mobs, which is all that happened in the fraction of time that the 1.21 7th Umbral Event existed.

I want both kinds of content, this one has its place, I like its structure.

I see you guys didn't move this one, so can you move mine back.

rokien, why do you keep asking for stuff that they said is imposable on these servers. they said in 2.0 well have large scale but they cant do it now...

has anyone been able to verify if it is only 1 party per instance, battle phase doesn't start until Friday right?
