[SUGGESTION] The Devs should add BLU Relic Weapons for each past Expansion...

You're probably thinking "he just wants more glamours for that stupid Blue Mage class!", which isn't necessarily inaccurate, but also not the POINT of this suggestion.

See, I originally played a Miqo'te Monk in ARR, and did some of the quests to get him his original Relic Weapon, and started the Zodiac quest-chain. Fast-forward a whole lotta years and expansions later, and I've been playing a NEW character, and since I was bored yesterday, I decided to go back and start doing that.

Now, my main Job is a DRK, but since the DRK didn't exist during ARR, I decided to go with Paladin, because mine was lvl 60. Well, even at 60 those opening lvl 50 quests are a huge chore. There's no getting around or overpowering those dungeons or boss-fights (unless you have friends willing to, which I did towards the end once they were online).

Even so, I only managed to get to the Zenith stage, when I got the quest for officially starting the Zodiac chain to upgrade to Atma, which requires grinding out a whole buncha FATE's.

Essentially, game expects you to play -- and play the CRAP out of -- the given Class you're pursuing a Zodiac weapon for. SHOCKING!!! I know...

Here's the thing, though; we've got a WHOOOOOLE bunch of new Jobs over the years, which don't all have the capacity to do those older Relic weapons. And we're only getting more Jobs. And the idea of adding all-new Relics for all of THOSE jobs -- and all FUTURE jobs -- seems pretty crazy.

Well, the Blue Mage kind of strikes me as a perfect solution:

For one, there are only like, what, FOUR unique Canes (or whatever you call their weapon) in the game, a couple of them recolors. So realistically, coming up with new designed should be EXCEPTIONALLY easy, since there's so few to begin with.

Secondly, it gives a relatively easy option for those players whose favorite job DOESN'T have relevant Relics for each given expansion. And since those weapons are obsolete, it doesn't really matter that they *might* have an easier time grinding certain stages of the quest-chain, because at this point, the only people doing it are those who just want to see the STORY of these weapons,

All in all, I just feel like this would be a nice option to have added, it SEEMS like it wouldn't require all that much work (what, 5-10 new Cane designs, and some variations with different particle-effects?), but would make that story a lot more accessible.

Beyond that, I might suggest tuning down SOME of the grinding elements for past content, since I don't think it's super reasonable to expect players to grind old content for months, just to progress old story for outdated weapons. But maybe others feel the grind should stay, so that's just me!

the blu weapon will require you finish all the other relic weapons for that tier and will come with no stats and not sockets ... and will be pink but joking aside i don't think they will add one

They're hardly adding past expansion weapons for the main classes anymore, DNC and GNB are missing quite a few, so sadly I can't see them prioritizing weapons for side classes.

I don't see them doing this since they haven't added relic questlines for any new classes in expansions before they debuted.

Nope, and YoshiP was adamant they won't be going back regularly for any new jobs.

They don't even add GNB/DNC weapons for previous raids and ultimates. Except Alphascape Savage, they were likely already working on the expansion jobs when that last raid tier was released so it likely wasn't "going back" when they added them. But for Reaper and Sage, it's best people save some savage tokens from Eden's Promise.

The only one I agree with is the Stormblood one, and that's only because Eureka was practically made for BLU yet we can't even enter on it. It's prime real estate for BLU shenanigans and revitalizing the content, but they don't want us going there.

Like I said, given HOW few "canes" exist in the game, I would think it relatively simple to add BLU Relics. Maybe they could just revolve around different classic FF monsters (ie. a Cactuar-themed cane, a Moogle-themed cane, Chocobo, we already have two Bomb canes, any other ideas?), with different stages just being recolors with different particle effects?

Main reason being, like I said, giving us a way to experience the STORY behind the Relic weapons, without necessarily having to dedicate to quite so long a grind. The "Books" phase of the Zodiac weapon is just INSANE, imo.

The ones you get from achievements by perfecting the Masked Carnivale final fight should have 5 materia slots.

Relics aside I would like them to atleast add trials weapons for the new classes added via expansions. I get that they wouldnt be relevant to the job game wise because of the ilvl or previous level caps but most people use those now for glamours. Though the same can be said for previous "relic" weapons.

No, they said going forward from SB they won't go back and retrofit old weapon content with new jobs because that takes too much time. They added DNC and GNB weapons to Omega Savage when 5.0 dropped, but that's just likely because they already had those 5.0 jobs in the can when the raid came out. So saving some weapon coffers from E12S will likely yield the same benefit for the two new jobs.

BLU weapons well they don't do anything aside from being at 70 level so you can put two +40 materia in them. I do like the current system where they tie another glamour weapon based on your carnival kill time.
