PSA: dont be afraid to unsub

Look,honestly, this game can get boring if you dont want to smash your face in savage for 15 hrs a week. I find that some people have an unhealthy reliance on this game. I know a friend who just logs in and afk...
Expansion is literally half a year away.
To the people sitting here fear mongering about the end of the ascian story and whatnot, i find that unsubbing helps keep the game fresh for me.
And when u come back , there'll be new stuff, new music, it will be fun again.
Even with a home u can sub half the year.(if somebody got to that point of boredom)

But I like posting on the forums :(

Is this about that one thread that's talking about quitting amongst the first 30 threads that are not talking about that?

Emphasis on the unhealthy

The big problem with unsubbing is housing, I've lost 2 when having a break from the game and currently only have an apartment. If you don't have a house though and feel bored then sure, take a break. Its easy to get burned out and jaded and a break always solves that for me.

Pretty much why i don't ever want a house with the current system.

I have a /playtime of 900+ Days since 2011. If i didnt have this game to have some fun, i would go insane xD

Been playing since 2.0 Beta and haven't unsubbed once. Still having a ball.

That's what I do. I literally barely started playing again after 3 months break the other day. Stayed subbed, because the forums have become such a source of entertainment on it's own for me, plus apparently I have a house now, so that helps. Actually almost lost that.

It wouldn't surprise me if the incoming relic grind will burn me out yet again.

This. When I start to feel burnt out from XIV, I end up opening another game that I have on backlog(usually one of the free monthly games from PS+), and work on that for a while. Still log into XIV daily to deal with retainers/GC squad/get my weekly tomes/drops, but then I switch back to the other.

I'm just wondering what the steps that you only need to do once for the next stage is going to be like. Hopefully not something like running 32 alliance raids again. But I am definitely looking forward to seeing how the subsequent relic quests change after the first. Good thing there will be roughly 6 months to get it all done in...so I can definitely pace myself and do other stuff I haven't done yet.

How about you mind your own business? Let people support the game if they want to. It's not like the subscription fee is bank breaking at all. And if it is, then you've got bigger problems.

Sure, if it's just your money. If someone is going to post on a forum recommending others waste their own money as well then they are there to be criticized. If it really is "your own business" keep it off public forums.

Square literally made thousands with a space whale. lol. How much of that was divided to the ff team? who knows. but they are certainly NOT hurting..

If people have the disposable income to sub and not do anything, then so be it? Id rather donate 13-15$ to a charity or my local animal shelter.

Yeah I feel you. I have medium housing.
When I break ffxiv and still pay for subs. Since I dont want lost housing. I still love ffxiv and my housing

Personally, I buy the 180 day sub every five to six months rather than bother with the monthly stuff. But that's because I typically prefer the annual or 3+ months options for services since it makes for easier budgeting (just gotta space out the re-up days and have it set to not autopay where applicable). It also makes it easier for me to take a week or two break off if necessary to focus on something new.

The way they made it sound during Fanfest, it's going to be pretty daunting that's for sure. I doubt most people will pace themselves.. I doubt I will! For the people who do decide to take their time I hope whatever it takes to actually get said relics, won't be completely dead...

Ma'am, I have a medium house in the best plot in the game, I can't simply unsub... But it's not like I would for any other reason, I love this game and I always find I have stuff to do... I'm the kind of player that does all of the content (funnily enough, excluding savage and ultimate raids). So even if what's left is collecting all triple triad cards or doing extra relics, It's still good content to me. It helps I have wonderful friends in this game, and socializing with them makes me super happy every day!

clearly this a plot by the op to get us to unsub so our beloved houses decay but unfortunately most people who play ff 14 don't even read the forum :P
