was they any news on beastmaster limit job
Nope. No mention of Beastmaster or any new limited job. Also no mention of Blue Mage continuing either right away or in EndWalker.
I'd say skip the whole limit job thing.
No news about limited job is good news. This whole idea is waste of resources.
limit job aren't a waste of rescoure their just different for want people want but they fun there different kind fun the kind fun you have get used and enjoy
Blue Mage likely will only get one major update per expansion. This because now it's 10 levels behind the current cap, and the job can enter any content with a premade party. The developers have pretty actively said they don't want it involved in the current savage content, so they only way with the systems as they currently are to do that is to make sure it always stays 10 levels behind.
If they do another update, I would assume it would only be to add more spells without increasing the level cap.
as a person who loves Blue Mage I must kinda disagree with you there. the thing is-is that while our job is fun in some degree but for most the whole "limited job" thing just feels like a half baked idea in game.
they call us the "solo job" but yet I still have to group up.
they call us the "magical dps job" but yet most of kit is a mix of physical attacks, healing, buffs, shielding, and some magic attacks.
they call us a "unique experience" yet literally all I do as a Blue Mage is kill mobs in the open world for HOURS, make parties in the Party Finder, and run the Masked Carnivale.
now don't get wrong, I LOVE the job but they must decide what they want to do with the job in the future. I'm fine with whatever at this point since I don't have much to any reason to play a Blue Mage anymore outside of achievements and I do not like that. No job should be this borked like this, not even the jobs I dont like.
Beastmaster Limitjob was a thing?
Can somebody show a source from YoshiP or SE confirming this was a thing that was gonna happen?
There was none. Players just made assumptions that BST was planned based on BST enemies/npcs in Bozja and comments made from the development team saying BST was their "favourite traditional FF Job" (I can't remember if it was Yoshi or Michael Christopher-Koji Fox who specifically said that), and put two and two together and came up with eight. Then when Reaper was hinted, players made further assumptions thinking that was BST.
If BST is ever planned, I don't see it coming any time soon to be honest - the BLU 'limited Job' experiment was generally regarded as a failure by most players and I think SE will just move onto a new concept as a result.
how much fun would you even have as a limited job beastmaster they was fun in ff 11 as they was the true solo job
I have no faith on BST. It will either be a reskinned BLU, or a Fakepetmaster. We see what they doing with SMN and SCH. The others with a pet (MCH, DRK) are fire and forget for a short duration "pet". Guess we will see what Reaver has to offer, but I don't see that as having a real pet beside you either.
Yeah beastmaster and puppetmaster, were basically used as other possible limited jobs. Its not so much because they are OP in certain content its because they require more effort than regular job leveling, find and learn skills, find and train beasts, find and craft puppet parts.
This. They said that if the limited job concept was well received then there would be more such as puppetmaster and "beast tamer". Most of the player base doesn't care one way or another about limited jobs.
Out of us that do care, it seems that those against the idea (which yes I'm apart of) outnumber those that want the system to be expanded.
I think what another person said is what will happen. Blu will get one "normal" update per expac or maybe a second update to add more spells/carnival fights.
I think limited jobs are fun side content, but short lived and kinda useless since you can't use it normally like other jobs.
However, ever since I started playing this game I've wanted a job where you can tame overworld mobs and use them in battle. I think it could be a lot of fun taming all of them and having a bestiary with lore on them.
This is the basis for why a lot of us against limited jobs didn't like the idea and don't want to see it continued. That it's a waste of most jobs to delivery that type of content.
Back when the limited job debate was still raging, there were a few that were just flat out against there being that kind of content but many of this side (including myself here) were fine with it being in the game. Some of us thought it looked fun as well BUT the issue was the cost was too much. That a job (especially a classic FF job) shouldn't be JUST side content outside of a couple of cases like onion knight. We even made up ideas of how that could have worked and I also had an idea of how "beast taming" could be fun as a sorta of ladder climb you fight through while also having pet raising/care mechanics similar to chocobo raising back on FFXI. To me, limited jobs was "right direction but wrong path" for this kind of content.
i think limit jobs are fine they like board game that have broke machinac some people like me like because it sometime new jobs that the devs couldn't do normal
I think if they add a second pet job it would be alittle mangerable be beastmaster or puppetmaster even third it work better it give job that blu could group with
i hope they not done with limit jobs i hope they add beast master in 6 month time frame.
limit jobs are great for between patch time and next patch time
Thankfully, no more limited jobs seem to be in the works at the moment.
I get some weekly use out of it. With all the buffs on, it can kill the lv50 ex primals in 1 hit, which is fast for WT stickers.
It's also the most fun and fastest Fate killer if you need those Stormblood and below for any reason.
It can also earn a fair amount of allied seals from weekly carnival objectives if you need those for aetheryte tickets or anything else.
And lastly it has high-end challenge content for titles and Morbol mount.
one my free company mate told me they catch up on meat i think if they going add limit job they should introduce both beast master and puppet master at same time and make so they can group with blue mage
Whenever they do BST, IF they do, I hope they treat it right and really flesh it out like a full-fledged job and not like a summoner-but-with-animals.
i don't see limit jobs as failure i think it success it not for everyone there area to improve but with like add more limit jobs put a percent per limit job for gain spell or ability on how many limit jobs equal a new spell or ability. make so limit jobs can group together and allow squardon to group with blue mage to level
There's a rumor they may remove Egi and Fairies from SMN/SCH come 6.0. So they'd be like their PvP equivalents. Thus making beast master never a possibility.
BLU already do group up with themselves, how they get their skills etc. It's not a failure per se, but it by no means is a success. It's a fun little thing you can do, with no to little time invested. They come in handy for dungeon farming, about it. No other use for them.
This turned into a ridiculous thread. First, blu mage is a success according to Yoshi P and I will always take his word for it over internet randos with an axe to grind.
Second and more importantly, what you all don't seem to understand is that the choice wasn't between full blue mage and limited blue mage. The choice was between no blu mage and limited blue mage. Yoshi P has said on multiple occasions that he had no interest in implementing blue mage as a regular job because the spell collection aspect is the historic lynchpin of the job and that is anathema to how mmo's in general but especially this one works. To quote, "With Blue Mage, for example, we run in to the issue where learning monster actions is the main pillar of the job, but we can potentially see a huge disparity in power between Blue Mages depending on the blue magic they have learned—even if their job level is the same. In other words, too large of a disparity in the number of blue magic abilities learned would create issues if Blue Mages were able to queue normally for duties.
Additionally, blue magic is interesting because they are powerful. However, if we allow Blue Mages to queue for the newest raid, we would need to weaken much of the blue magic to properly adjust the class to the fight, and I feel it would be boring for the Blue Mage. To avoid issues, we created this as a limited job—this allows us to circumvent the problem but still have an enjoyable job."
Mea Culpa to the people who wanted regular job blu, I personally dislike yoshi P's reasoning here. I don't think spell hunting is actually cool at all to be honest and it seems silly to disregard the job because of it. So if it makes you feel better, I do hope they add full blue mage balanced like the rest of the jobs the next time they feel like adding a caster dps (or maybe even a tank or healer).
Third, lol at the waste of resources concept because limited blu only exists because one dev proposed the idea to yoshi p and the work on it was almost all him so the resource impact was virtually null. This was talked about at one of the fanfests prior to shb I think, maybe a sb one, whichever had that dev actually in the building on a panel.
A lot of people have been asking for a smn that pushes a button that causes a primal to do an attack then disappears. (kinda like how the reaper avatar is described as behaving) Or a constant string of demi phases.
I'm personally not a fan of that being the sole identity of smn, or the idea of having the same design philosophy as brd w/o the procs to make it interesting, but it's what some people want. (Pls SE, don't take away my carbuncle buddy :( )
But if beastmaster MUST be a limited job (please no, I love pet classes and there's no reason why we can't have more than 1 (dps one at least)) then I hope they change the concept of limited job from "job you change to that can't play the game like rest of the jobs" to "job you can engage with along side the job you currently are." Something like an expanded chocobo companion system (for beastmaster at least). Maybe I could tame monsters in dungeons (along secret paths instead of the one hallway) and use them in the open world to quest with my main job. Maybe have pokemo- I mean.. beast battles with people in the open world to train our pets and show them off (kinda like triple triad duels). Have a beastmaster (or rather limited job) toggle in the duty finder that allows us to do blu-like shenanigans runs where it limits our (regular) job actions and only lets us use beastmaster and pet skills, otherwise we would get a message like "the aetherial disturbance in the area prohibits your companion from heeding your call" for beastmaster and if they do something similar for blu "the aetherial disturbance in the area blocks your blue magic" to say "lol don't use a limited job here". Something that enhances the experiences that we already have and adds a little on the side, instead of walling off the stuff we came here for and pretending like the side is enough.
that would break ffxiv if they remove summoner pets and scholar pets i hope they won't do that
Currently summoner as a job is reaching somewhat of a breaking point when it comes to the overall play mechanics, so we’ve halted work on Egi glamour for the time being in order to shift focus. There is a reason behind this, but we can’t share the details with you at the moment. When the time comes, I’ll be sure to properly share that information with everyone.
doesn't sound like remove Egi because if they where going remove it they would say we ending work on Egi Glamour yet they said we halt mean they stop at the for time being to begin again at another point
halt is different for complete ending pets sound like yoshi p planned keep summon it be stupid and horrible complete remove Egi because that make them no long summoner or scholar might well change they name to something else then
Wouldn't break anything. Like I said, was just a rumor though. And SMN and SCH do fine in PvP where they have no summons. Someone posted a video explaining why it could happen, maybe even being a good thing, lemme find it and will edit the post.
Found it.

Now, I'm not saying I want this. What I want, is I use a skill, the skill goes off, period. No more lagging behind, no more ghosting, no more skills used and nothing happens due to bad timing, ping, pet not keeping up, pets being unsummoned due to elevation changes or platform changes or zone changes etc etc. But I am fully aware my favorite DPS class and Healing class, may change drastically. So I am ready just in case.
