I am beyond thrilled that our ping issues have been recognised and a solution found. I for one cannot wait to relocate. Thank you YoshiP from the bottom of my antipodean heart. Thank you!

It kinda makes me spew hot burst.
yeah good for the australia and new zealand players, doesn't really effect me but nice to see them get some love.
So happy you guys are finally getting your own data center! It's been a long time coming.
Ping issues? Haha, you're cute, they only wanted the aussies out of Jipang, tired of dealing with harassment reports of jp players towards english speakers.
If they cared about our ping Primal would be on the east coast.
I'm going to stay put on Balmung, as I have too many roots down here to move to an Aussie server (having an American boyfriend kind of also cements that for me).
Will be sad to leave Kujata, but when that centre opens, thats where I am headed.
FF 14 team, a thousand thanks.
I'm happy for my Aussie bros and New Zealand dudes. Congrats!
Going to be interesting to see how this impacts Tonberry and Kujata! Has some very supremely dedicated players. Hope they can convince enough of their fellows to move to greener pastures... maybe there will be some kind of offer for relocating, since a lot of people will be leaving the communities they've joined.
Appreciative.... But not so much on the fact we still cant buy the Physical items from the SE store at all.
There are some Oceania people who will have some hard decisions to make. Transferring for better ping will be great for them, but they'd have to give up their FCs, housing, etc... I'm not sure I could do it.
I hope you guys get free transfers when it releases, otherwise it would make the DC flop as I don't think many people would go over after making friends and having FCs in their current servers.
Yes, thanks to SE for this new data center. It will be a decision time once it is open. It's not easy leaving behind an FC and people I already have been playing with in my current server. The Japanese people are also nice playing with. And I have a house... hmmm my house. Better ping... hmmm....
I wonder how many players would change to this data center? they must have friends, fcs ald linkshells they are attached to! I suppose the data center travel will make this a bit better for them, but it does feel like it will be an extremely underpopulated server...
I'm sure this is an investment for their future, maybe 3 years down the line these servers will have a good population.
This seems really great for those in the coeanic region. They've long since suffered enough lol
Did they mention any servers that'll be migrating to the new data centre?
When Crystal was made, they picked some servers that had high populations of EU players to move into the new data centre, along with a couple new servers.
While I don't think Hyperion is the prime choice for moving data centres, it's not something I'm looking forward to happening to those that are on the opposite end.
Well they did move odin (and others) to the EU data centre. In the same way it might be obvious to move Tonberry.
I'm wondering exactly where it will be. I'd love to see east coast AU, it's probably the more central solution, but AU has expensive bandwidth not even cloudflare will put up with. SG possibly more realistic (I suppose 80 ping is better than 140).
Hopefully AUS data centre comes with AUS VA.
"OI! For whom do you fight, mate!"
Very appreciative for this, it will be nice to be punted off platforms a little less often.
Same feelings for me, though on Primal. Can't just go "byyyyyyyyye" to all the friends I've made.
At least Data Centre travel will let me experience low ping gum (and hopefully DF/PF. Can't recall if they said we could do that).
More like two weeks or less.Quote:

YoshiP I think has understated the OCE population spread over NA, EU and JP datacentres. Remember too that Oceania is a REGION, comprising dozens of nations. I would imagine some of the SG population will be looking to move as well.
The future is indeed bright.
Happy for you guys, I remember when I swapped from an NA server to an EU one I felt like I was Neo for a few weeks. Dodging stuff was so so much easier and double weaving is the future I tell ya.
I'm playing in SG and I don't think the ping will change, if not it will be worse. Right now JP data center is good for SEA players. The sad thing is we are in Tonberry and currently it is the unofficial ENG server in JP data center. We are afraid that once the OCE DC is up, Elemental data center will be not ENG player friendly anymore and if we decide to move to OCE, how sure are we that lag is better, how about our FC houses, personal houses? How about the community and the economy? A lot of questions.
Hopefully it won't affect any DC moving forward. I'm glad that there is this DC but it came to late IMO. If PF and DF can be Inter-DC then it does not matter. Until that is done there is still doubts on our end.
With data center travels coming, I am wondering how many will do as much as they can on the new DC, and whatever else on their home server, versus, completely moving to the new DC. Hopefully SE will allow some free transfers to this brand new DC.
I am not in Oceania. This does not impact me. Instead, I am thrilled on behalf of the folks I've encountered who are from those areas, who will now have the opportunity to play with a lot less pain and hassle.
It's long overdue, and I hope it helps out our friends in the land down under and in Indonesia to not suffer when playing.
