Proofreading the 1.22 Patch Notes

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but I thought I might as well go ahead and point out any typos, strange things, etc. that I notice as I read through the patch notes today. Whoever's in charge of writing them (localization team?) probably was working many extra frantic hours to get them out this week, but I think they'd also want them error-free! ;)

[Dev1357] (Options when Targeting Bed) "heck the bed" -> "Check the bed"

"The entrance to the Hourglass inn in Ul’dah has been moved to the Merchant Strip (6,5)."

This one is present in the list twice: "An issue wherein the client would crash when attempting to mount a chocobo after cancelling spellcasting."

The descriptions for the "Vortex Headdress" and "Vortex Totem" are mismatched.
The descriptions for the "Decoy" items use the word "Manikin" where "Mannequin" may be intended.
The description for the "Spiked Rations" is awesome and hilarious.
There's no high-difficulty BRD weapon listed here. Has it been postponed to 1.22a?

There is no section for Fishing, which may be intentional.
The section for Spearfishing has no items in red, which are used elsewhere to indicate changes.

I'll update as I find more. Please move this to an appropriate forum if this is the wrong place for this thread.

Also the Serpent Sergeant's Bracelets Picture they show when describing set bonuses say "Flame Gear (3 or more)"..... shouldnt it be Serpent gear?

Feel free to nitpick away :)
It's been quite a hectic week, and between work on patch notes, 1.22a, 2.0, and all the other secret things we can't tell you about, some things are bound to fall through the cracks. We'll get on these fixes right away and apologize for any confusion they may have caused.

Pinurabi will have an update later on what has been adjusted.

it's /equip Main Hand [Weapon Name]. (Why not just change Main Hand and Other Hand to Main and Other?)

I've just now sent word to the Lodestone people, and the necessary revisions will soon be made. As you have mentioned, REDace0, certain things are indeed intentional, but the majority of what you and your adventurer friends have reported thus far will be fixed. Thank you, one and all, and keep the posts coming!

Now then, it's back to the grinding of bones for me! :)

For future reference, is the localization section the best place to post about Lodestone typos, or would it be better to file it away under "Website Bugs"?

Everything that has to do with the translation work goes into localization, including website typos. Though, I suppose if you posted it in the website bugs section, they'd just alert someone here or something.

For the most part, Urthdigger is 100% correct (wait...then that wouldn't be 100%...er...anyway).
There are, however, things that our marketing team or the Community and Service teams handle on their own (though, we do check a lot of that content for consistency and terminology-related issues). Still, if you are unsure of where to post a bug, right here is fine. Most of the time, we'll be able to fix it ourselves, and on the rare cases we cannot, we know who to contact to get those fixes in ASAP.

Anyway, wanted to post in an epic localization thread. Done.

I think Eemeefu is making reference to this sequence from the great 2004 American comedy Anchorman (specifically around 1:20 in that clip, but the relevant dialogue begins at the time I linked).

I love the localization team even more now! :D
