ERP would be a factor regardless of a RP tab. But there is a substantial number of players who are interested in non-ERP, who may have no idea where to go to find other people who like to play too. It seems reasonable to make it easier for those players to enjoy the game in their own way.
This seems like a really simple thing to do for them, and using ERP as a reason to neglect these players (not saying that's one anyone here is advocating, but I've seen the argument before) is like saying there shouldn't be a dungeon or raid tab because of how common griefing is. -
