Not bad!
I was really into it at the start because you used sound effects woo, then it went into the typical video clips with music slapped on top :( i wasnt very happy, some nice use of effects but it got a bit over the top, some of it barely visible, and i couldnt make out what was going on.
I like the Ulysses intro, but it seems a bit misleading as it is fanwork XD.
great job love the vid
There's a note on the Crysis map, so it shouldn't be too misleading. I agree about the blown out lighting though, it could have been toned down at portions. Overall it was a nice collage of footage, though the Legacy logo needed to be zoomed instead of stretched.
One question though, what scene was that where Gaius shoots you in the back? What quest haven't I done yet!? >_>
nicely done, thank you
Thanks guys and I know what you guys mean by the heavy contrast, it was meant to have a really high contrast but I believe I went a little too far and just noticed after upping my monitor's contrast and it was a semi-rushed video, I spent 3-4 days editing it because I wanted it to be up before monday.
I'm planning to use sound effects and take my time on my next video.
@Ramsey, it's part of one of the Maelstrom's quests.
Really nice video and great editing :) Hope to see some sceneries too in the next video and not only action though XD
Too much flashing and saturated light and it's a bit long aswell, but that's just my opinion.
Anyways, I'm giving you a Like for the effort and good work overall^^
PS. Love ending image :)
You're a great editor. Do you work in the industry?
EDIT: Oh snap! I didn't realize it was YOU cass. lol. Wow, I'm impressed. :D
Love the Garuda grin at the end. :D
impressive
Please avoid the passé trend of heavy saturation and sepia lighting effects.
I appreciate your efforts, though, but you totally overwhelmed your video with them.
I understand the challenges of making game videos pretty well [including the time you spend trying to get little nuances that only you notice to work], especially when there isn't a lot of variety of things to work with, but you've really butchered the content with all of the additional fluff.
There have been a lot of trailers like this lately that I've seen, but I haven't seen anyone take a smaller narrative approach. It doesn't have to be genius, or even have dialogue or anything to it, but something that falls outside of the generic epic orchestral score, as well as carefully selecting what source footage used [I realize for this video you were intending to show 1.21, so this is more of a generalized critique of the fan mades I've seen recently] instead of stuffing all of it, including copious amounts of frames from the cinematics [you actually went and did something even outside of the cinematics, and even in another game, but at least you noted it] can add cohesion to the product.
Whatever, I make mistakes too, but thought you might like some feedback.
I think part of the reason it felt so long was that the video went on at high tension for a long time. There was a bit of rising and falling action which was good, but for a good segment of the movie, for about 5+ minutes it was all high action.
I realize with these types of videos, you're working with footage you captured, so it can be difficult, but once a video gets to be over a minute or two long, you may want to think about the narrative arc of the video having a few dips in it. Try to capture a few beats with a little less action, and work with a song that has low points as well. Still a fun video either way.
Amazing. SE might wanna take notes for E3. :p
Good video for a person who does videos as a hobby!
As others have stated, little long, lighting effects over used and blown out, once you got to the parts for the job it was drawn out and kind of boring. Good job matching sound with video but it seemed like you got a bit tired by the end of the video and got lazy (happens with longer videos).
Keep it up though, it get better!
great video^^ insta liked and favd~~
Really think you put a lot of time and effort into the video! I can see that, but please let go of those effects. It's too much and the lighting is way too dim.
Agreed with everyone's feedback and yes I believe I abused the flash trasitions a bit(got a little lazy><), I also tried to fit every single job ws and spell plus all the new garlean attacks into one video, I put some effort into the video but not enough time since it was just a weekend project so it was rushed a bit but I'm definitely taking my time with my next one and thank you guys for all your feedback.
Great vid :D
