I really love the gear we get from this dungeon but it's so sad we can't dye it. :(

We got a dyeable version of the healer-set at least - it was a reward for the summer-event 2 or 3 years ago and should be available on the mogstation if you missed it back then.
We probably wont get it because when they gave us that one set through the moonfire faire the locals here threw a huge fit over it. Seasonal events are sacred and reusing assets is the absolute worst apparently.
I'd be for a making them dyeable and classless.
They won't because then you have no reason to buy it from the shop. The fact that they sell it shows that they don't care about exclusivity for those that participate in an event.
getting dyeable versions is off the table due to the moonfaire halter. we might get reskins assigned to different jobs but they wont be dyeable.
Oh yeah I didn't even think about the mogstation outfit.. but IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE THE NICE ARM PIECES. I feel like they just made a simplified version and stuck it up for people to buy. The healer set in the dungeon has sleeves and really cute bottoms too instead of a skirt/leggings combo. I can see how they wouldn't make them dyeable because of the mog outfit tho.. that's kinda depressing lol
The fact they sell it most likely means they wont be made widely available. Beyond that, I actually enjoy the fact they sell event items on Mogstation. If you missed the event cause real life or werent subbed, I think if you want to spend a few bucks to get access to past event items is plenty fine. If you want to do exclusive, save all that for content that requires actual thinking and input like Ultimates, Experts, and Savage.
My only critique of the Moonfaire set is that it has weird edits that obstruct other gear from displaying. As an example, the chest piece will make your neck piece invisible, despite there actually being no visible part of the outfit there.
But I think thats a wierd way to look at it? SE gives you the option to purchase items from past events...so thats a bad thing? I mean compared to WoW (or atleast how it was - been a few years), you missed an event its tough shish kabobs. Kinda makes newer players or even veterans who missed it cause real life be left out. Beyond that, theyve been pretty consistent on exclusivity. You cant get variants to ultimates unless you do it, as an example. It seems their position is exclusiveness sits in the realm of challenging content.
The Online Store outfit is the seasonal event one, not an actual dungeon set, though it's probably most similar to the Striking set.
If they make a dyeable version of the dungeon outfit, it'll be in a future dungeon/raid or crafting recipe (hopefully the former for me).
If the Mog Station version does indeed mean we'll never get a dyeable version in-game, I hope we at least get dyeable versions of the flower headpieces. It's disappointing that they weren't included in the Faire set to begin with.
As a counterpoint to "they'd never make them dyeable in-game because nobody would buy the Faire version", I think there are a few reasons why they could happily coexist.
One is model variations. If people don't want sleeves on their healer top, or they want the skirt on their caster instead of the bikini bottoms, they need the Faire version.
The other is level. You can equip the Faire set at level 1 and as soon as you start the game, but if they put a dyeable version up in a level 80+ dungeon somewhere, you're not getting hold of it for ages and you still can't use it as low-level glamour.
Saddly, dyeability is considered a very special thing in this game, instead of a normal/common feature so... probably won't happen
