Another complaining Thread

Okay, first this artificial scarcity to keep players subscribed is tedious. For game that boasts about having millions of subscribers I find it interesting that you only have a few thousand player houses. Second, at the very least make it pvp so I can through down some land mines to keeps others away from the placard. As someone that's been playing since the games release, I find this feature insulting. I shouldn't have to stay up for 12 to 24 hours to compete with other players only to have someone who just showed up claim the plot. So until this is fixed I'm done and I'm not returning to the game. When my subscription is over I'm done. Not buying the next expansion or anything else and this will have a determining factor on what other games I buy from Square Enix in the future. Clearly my time is not valued. :mad:

Interesting that you acknowledge this is "another complaining thread" but couldn't be bothered to just post it in one of the other complaining threads.

Don't blame others if you don't value your own time. You're the one that makes the choice on how you use it.

No I decided to make my own instead of leeching onto someone else. As for Endwalker, it looks like the best time to walk way. The main story has drug on way too long. I walked away from WoW, this is easier.

Clearly your reading comprehension skills are lacking. I'm not blaming them for a lack of value of my own time. I saying that a system which forces players to wait for days and requires them to stand in front a of sign is disingenuous and poorly designed. Not mention that any player who wants to relocate can simply walk in and steal it away.

Entire concept of Housing is to encourage community not for your symbol of social status.
Personal Housing is a luxury, not a must, don't get it wrong.
If you are active in social like you are supposed to be in a MMORPG, you will be either in a FC or be someone's friend and list you as tenant.
There is also an apartment and FC room for your own private space.

Except the system right now is doing the EXACT opposite. I literally hate people more than I ever have. Tell that to a game that is supposed to foster a wholesome community.

That is entirely your own problem. The game didn't turn you into hating everyone you encounter, you were already capable of that. Get some help, and stop putting the blame on SE or other players because you can't control your anger.

I am completely putting the blame on SE. They developed a system that puts people against each other. Some of us only wanted to play the game for non-instanced housing. After grinding away for hours to get the gil only to be told NO by RNG because there are too many people is a huge kick to the face. I play a game to get distracted from life, not keep living with the same problems I already have to deal with. It becomes less of a game at that point.

I think you picked the wrong genre if that’s what you’re looking for in a video game. MMORPG tend to mirror real life. It’s full of have and have-nots. And everyone’s at the mercy of RNG.

FWIW the people I’d met at the placards were all very friendly. (That is, when people had the energy to chat) Everyone hates the system but accepted that the other players have as much right to go after the plot as they do. The most desperate ones tend to there for FC house, but they still treat people who were there for personal housing nicely. When someone finally got a house after long session, people either congratulated the winner or were just glad it didn’t end in relocation.

Maybe on Siren it’s different?

We are definitely all nice to each other but we are all wallowing around in misery seeing the same people at plots over and over trying to get one.

Imagine blaming a game company because you have rage issues or whatever. It's like having a gambling addiction and blaming the casino when you lose all your money.

If you only want to play to have a house, might I suggest a different game, like: Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, Stardew Valley, The Sims? Playing an MMO just to have a house is.... kinda weird, dude.

Imagine being a judgmental jerk. Sims doesn't have a social aspect. Animal crossing is way too clunky. Housing is an advertised part of the game and that is why I am so upset. Stop judging people for what they enjoy. I want a social housing experience.

Clearly you don't actually play either of those games. While the Sims doesn't have a multiplayer aspect, it has quite an active community, especially those that make custom content, share designs, etc. and to say Animal Crossing is "clunky", what, in comparison to decorating in FFXIV? That's a flimsy excuse.

Perhaps you're too young or something, but part of life (and, surprise, MMOs) is knowing you won't always get what you want, or have access to all things. Not everyone will get to have a house. Not everyone will clear Ultimate, etc. etc.

Spending all your time fixated on something you can barely have without having a full-on breakdown instead of enjoying the other 99% of the game is entirely on you, and something you need to learn to stop doing.

I have wanted an in-game house since the days of AION. It has been a long-term gaming goal. You sound really patronizing too. You and I are not better than anyone else so stop trying to sound like it.

You can keep just shrugging off what I'm saying by calling me "judgemental" or "patronizing", but I'm literally just talking to you. Though I suspect your perspective on that is tied to you saying you hate everyone. Probably has more to do with you than me.

Still, again, part of life is accepting that sometimes you just won't get things. I can't do stuff like Savage or Ultimate if I tried because my hands get too stiff and sore if I play for more than a couple hours. My chronic illness prevents me from accessing parts of the game. It sucks because some stuff is cool, like the raid weapons you can only get by doing Savage (unlike the armour), but I've accepted that it's just not going to happen. So I moved on and found other things to work on or do that I also enjoy. I suggest you do the same. If you think that's patronizing or whatever, that's your problem. I'm trying to help you accept that we don't always get what we want.
