Can we have NPC voice added into FF14?

I've been playing World of Warcraft, Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy 14 for a while, but every time when I switch to FF14, I feel that there are something missing...:(

And something means "voice", it is a pity that FF14 puts all voice acting into dungeons and story cinematics while NPCs outside those don't even have single voice clip/line like NPCs in WOW or GW2...

You mean when you click on npcs?

I barely noticed that was missing when I started FF and I played WoW for more than a decade before that. I wouldn't mind if voice clips like that were added but I can't say that I think it's something that is sorely needed. Either works for me. If it gets enough support I hope it's added for those who would enjoy it.

Being from ffxi mostly I do not miss them and would just shut them off like I do in other games since the repetitiveness of npc voices gets grating. If that one dude in ESO said "Nice to see you in Solitude my friend" one more time I swear I was going to find a way to enter the game and give him a good thrashing lol.

Voice acting is an incredibly high expense and an incredible undertaking. They didn't add much to even the ARR msq because of time and money constraints, which were really tight back then, so npc dialog was out of the question. They have added a ton more voice acting for the msq since, which is nice, but frankly having it when you are just running past npcs is a huge expense that doesn't do much overall.

I don't like them. I'm glad FF14 doesn't do this. It ends up that the NPCs you click most, such as to repair, repeat the same superficial thing.

I like how instead of that we get deeper conversations, often with full cinematics.

Look at most failed MMO's that has total voice overs, and further more look at how slow they develop new content compared to this one, it is a very costly affair tp voice over any given content with 4 different languages for every little extra added to the game.... am happy for what we got with someof the master cut scenes to be honest... also it gives a much better retro/oldschool feel to the game.

I wouldn't mind voice clips. I tend to skip cutscenes that don't have them. But I'm just lazy and don't want to read half the time I'm playing. I just want to murder all the things.
But I wouldn't want them on NPCs, honestly. But more voice overs in Cutscenes is what I'd like to see.

There are so many NPC's in this game, and a good amount of them have pretty elaborate flavor text each with varied personality and often have little regional stories going on in the background.

World of Warcraft's NPC's with voices just repeat a hand-full of canned phrases that are recycled among it's races.

A better example of voiced NPC's with personality is Guild Wars 2, the base-game of GW2 has so much voiced NPC's going on and about their day, talking with other NPC's, and playing out scripted scenes while a player passes by.

This game does the same thing with it's NPC's that GW2 does, just with text instead.

I do think having more bosses with proper voice acting would be welcome; particularly because audio tells can help remind you that a mechanic is coming without need to constantly stare at the cast bars (This helps a lot in WoW because almost every single boss is voice-acted).

They're weirdly inconsistent about it when it comes to raids, with only E8, 11, and 12 in the current raid tier having any.

They would have to be Diablo I and II level voice works for me to enjoy them. If we got another, "Stay awhile and listen." or "Hail to you, Champion." I'd be on board. Somehow though, I doubt we'd get anything akin to that.

I used to want FF14 fully voiced, til I took an arrow to the knee.

I don't want every npc voiced. Now, I do wish that more bosses, in all pieces of content, had more voices (also Dungeons with stuff). But every npc feels... Unnecessary.

Before we get npc voices I'd rather we get a tone slider like all modern games have, or more voices for our PC (player character).
