Please stop tying the coolest emotes to extremely limited runs of expensive statues.

I have the Odin and Ultima statues\emotes. There was a problem with my Shiva statue order so I never got that. With the Omega statue I didn't even know it was a thing until I saw someone in-game with the emote. These things sell out immediately on the SE store. Ebay has several Omega statues for over $450 and a good number are selling just the statue without the code, still for higher than the SE store's price.

I understand it's okay to have some items in-game be rare or harder to obtain, but the way the sale of these things has been is pretty ridiculous.

I have to disagree. If people are paying upwards of 400$ for something, I think tossing in a super cool emote is the least SE can do.

My only real complaint is them never putting these statues back on the store after say, a year or two. Since if you miss out or weren't even playing at the time, you'll never be able to purchase one should you want.

The Shiva statue has had several re-runs over the years. I know of at least 4. I got one in the 3rd or 4th re-run.

I think ultima has had 2 runs so far.

The Omega needs a re-run not due to quantity, but due to the terrible paint job on their faces.
Mine are not meister quality that I'm used to.

As someone with the emotes myself, I think the statues should always come with the emotes - or the emotes themselves should be available on the Mog Station after a year or so of exclusivity. I won't lie - I only bought the statues for the emotes. I doubt I'm the only one.

Covid added an extra layer of 'hmm' to it all. I imagine not everybody is lucky to continue to have a disposable income, though they might have bought the Omega statue if not for the pandemic.

That's true. I suppose they had more stock of Shiva. I don't recall Ultima having another run and I've never seen Odin come back once.

Asking them to stop making money is pointless.

It is collector items, I see nothing wrong with it, it is something for the ultra enthusiasts, it is much like people who buy classic toys in original boxes and such.

I'd be more okay with it if the statues had a wider availability or were restocked with any regularity.

I agree with this post 100% seeing people using this in game drives me to tears. I couldn't afford anything over Christmas. All I got was a sweater and some socks. I avoid any major hub for more than I have to because I'm so upset.

So those of us who can afford 400$ can't have an exclusive emote because you can't afford it? Why is that fair? I've had to do without too. That's just a fact of life.

Because people feel like only their complaint matters and want to feel special with their own thread instead of compiling feedback into a single one. At least that explains this thread and the other complaining. The third one is a troll post by someone who wants some of that attention on them.

I don’t care about exclusives. I’m all for them restocking the statues regularly. The only one that hasn’t been restocked is the Odin statue. Which is disappointing, since that statue is really cool.

If seeing someone using an emote in a game upsets you so badly, perhaps you should find a different game. Or just stay off the internet entirely where people may “flaunt their privilege” in front of you. This is an utterly ridiculous thing to be that upset about. Considering your posts in your thread, one would think you’d be far more upset about being unable to work and provide for the family you quit your job to keep safe rather than about a virtual emote in a video game. Talk about priorities.

So there was apparently another small run of Shiva statues that once again I saw no mention of until past the point you could pre-order and now there have been several Ebay listings for them upwards of $1300. I mean damn SE, I hope you figure out a way to keep making them and maybe even enough for people to buy.

If they're not going to make the statues anymore, I'd put the emote in the mog station.

I do think there should be some emotes that are near par, avoid the idea that some feature is exclusive to outside the game (like when multi-seater mounts as shortly a mogshop only thing, I don't think that was good- though clearly not true anymore).

Like Sephirot green grass aoe emote with nice healing rays, not too busy, could be some difficult craft emote (or something like that). Meanwhile if you had screen blinding three times the size of an average character emote made free after an MSQ.. might be a bit much lol.

Though these special effect ideas could also be put under the whole toy concept (like WoW has a toybox). Slap a cooldown on the effect, maybe even give it a bit more interaction because you can- like the grass effect follows you for a short time or something. Similar to those thoughts on making fireworks become permanent.

I think this should be part of it, at the minimum once SE is not going to rerun them at least on a very nearly yearly interval (such that it's like "who knows, who knows when it'll ever return"). Death of a content due to lack of desire to produce the physical item anymore is a bit sad. And we both agree timed exclusivity is a nice way to make something feel special but also not unnecessarily lock things away because.. "y tho". lol ;)

Everyone wants exclusivity until it's something they want.

Current state: People are selling shiva statue with the emote code for $2400+ or $1200+ for just the code. Surely someone at SE has to see this and think maybe they should reprint this stuff....

Isn't it the other way around? You buy a cool emote and get a free statue.

If they put the emotes on mogstation they’d be the same price as the statues. Have fun affording that.

I have both Shiva and Omega statues and perfectly okay with the exclusivity and the money it costs for the statues.
