Eureka Hydatos Weapons in 2021 Are Too Difficult To Obtain

As the title mentioned, this post is solely about the state of obtaining weapons in Eureka Hydatos, not any other aspect of the instance.

I am someone who likes to go back to clear older achievements and relics, but Eureka Hydatos in its current state is not conducive to completing weapons. Actively entering Hydatos in my spare time consistently (and during lulls in content, its not like I expect people to be rushing to do it now), as well as putting in all of my time in the instance to spawn Notorious Monsters, I feel as if I am making no progress. Most of my time spent in Eureka is predominantly solo with only a small amount of people in the instance, and those people are predominantly focused on obtaining Bunny rewards.

Adding the Echo is simply not enough for Hydatos, NMs still take an exceptionally long time to spawn, and the crystal gain is very low. Furthermore, Hydatos weapons are physically impossible to complete solo, as Provenance Watcher scales are not obtainable via exchanging Hydatos Crystals.

I know Eureka adjustments are a low priority to the developers as it is old content, but I think all the zones excluding Hydatos are at least doable with a respectable amount of effort. I would suggest some at least from my perspective some simple changes. Significantly increase Crystal drop amounts, add exchange for Provenance Watcher scales for Crystals, and adjust the amount of monsters needed to kill for Notorious Monsters to spawn.

That or just let me exchange the items for poetics.

Maybe it should be placed in duty finder for easy access. Maybe add some bonus for FATE completion.

Daily Roulette, "Monster Killers" perhaps unlocked by some interesting new quest line. Earn title "reenforcements" and be on call when the big baddies need to be taken down. Open world / Hunts, etc. Eureka/Bozan NMs if needed there.

Oh wow! Eureka got hit this bad? In honesty, it'll likely be more populated when there's a significant lul of content, but for the time being, people are focused predominantly on getting the relics from this expansion.

Though, I think they should either downscale the mobs more so that solo spawning stuff is more feasible, particularly with the higher level NMs. Or just change the spawn conditions so they alternate more frequently, or have a forced spawn timer. I can at least say just slapping echo on it alone and calling it a day is very sloppy.

Not really understanding your point about scales. It's time consuming, but not especially difficult, to spawn PW on your own. He's got no special spawn conditions, unlike every other end-zone boss.

Spawning him when next to no one is in the instance is absurdly time consuming and that assumes the person is even able to solo the elevel 65 scorpions which can be a doozy. The claws should absolutely be on the vendor.

As someone who has a full set of elemental armor and weapon, I have tried to solo the highest levels of all the Eureka instances. With Hydatos, the highest I could do solo as a healer was level 63. Level 64 and 65 hit wayyyyy too hard to heal through it, even with the elemental bonuses. Maybe a pally could do it with their healing abilities. No WAY a DPS could, the damage is too great.

Hell, in Pryos the level 55 bloodmoths were a bitch to kill as a healer solo.

The year has nothing to do with it. There is nothing more annoying then someone that goes its such and such a year then complaints it cheapens the criticism and makes the entire point if there was one lesser.

That said there is a reason why I will never have this or last expansions relic weapons I simply dont care to do either one of those contents and would rather grind dungeons that are infinitely more enjoyable.

This is one of the reasons why I keep saying that exploratory content like Eureka and Bozja is not a sustainable thing, nor is locking relics behind a dedicated zone like this. In the moment, if you can catch the initial wave of people doing it at release, it's fine but even Anemos was difficult for people to get into after Pyros was released. We're starting to see some of that fall off already with Bozja too, as people simply aren't able to get into Castrum half the time because no one does it after the first time.

Relics don't need dedicated zones.

Tank side it's a walk in the park, pretty easy to kill with Physeos/+2 Elemental/Kirin.

Somewhat tangential to the topic, but the current relic weapon actually does not require ever even venturing into Bozja. You have to get to Gangos to pick up the starting form of the weapon and the quests to advance it and you have to get through a solo instanced fight before you can get the starting weapon, but neither of those is that bad (and the solo instance leading up to that fight is visually very neat). And after that, the first stage can be done entirely through FATEs (in Heavensward, no less), and the second stage can be done through leveling roulette and level 60 dungeons.

Which might be because it was difficult for people to get through Eureka to get their relics last time.

I think the reference to completed Eurekan gear earlier was simply folks saying that those fights are difficult to solo as some jobs even with the completed gear, thus implying it's a great deal harder to do without.

And it's awesome those fights are easily done with the completed relics as a tank, but when the original complaint at the top of the thread is that surviving those fights solo in underpopulated instances in order to get the relics is difficult... I'm not sure how the tank is going to have a Physeos relic and +2 Elemental armor in the first place. (Yes, you could get the Kirin or Vermillion stuff off the marketboard to get a bit of a boost—and that's probably a good idea when trying to solo things—but it is often Not Cheap. And to get it otherwise requires doing the Baldesion Arsenal, which requires getting through all of Eureka, which... well, presumably see original complaint.)

Due to the Echo and the Mnemes buffs, it's pretty easy to solo a level 65 creature on DPS like Samurai. Just takes a while, and it's kind of risky if Bloodbath's down. You just adjust your magicite allotment, get a fairy buff etc. I was doing it last year on my LP alt that I took through Eureka to show it off. Only Elemental gear he had was an Osode. Though, I never had longterm trouble finding enough people that wanted to spawn PW.

Bloodbath and platebarer along with the elemental set and you can kill anything as a DPS without worrying about healing.

They don't need dedicated zones THAT SYNC YOU DOWN. I like doing older relics and they're all manageable to get except the eureka ones. If you're the only one in the zone, you're screwed.

If you could go in unsync into eureka and wreck the place like you can any other dungeon or trial that would work much better.

I fully support removing the sycn in 6.0. BA can keep it but make it a duty finder queue.

Except no other relic has these difficulties currently. The only problem is Eureka because to progress the relic you have to kill multiple super boss fates.

Kind of goes against the whole original design, too, since ARR and HW breathed new life into old content and had many steps that were based on your own two hands and not the whims of other people. These are supposed to be the non-raider weapons, able to be completed over a longer time at a slower pace and (at least with the first two) still able to be completed long after that content was no longer relevant.

Castrum's issue is not a dedicated zone issue, it's a reward vs time spent issue. While the Bozja instances are very much alive, Castrum takes too long just for coins that are mostly useless and already drop from normal skirmishes as well. If it was shorter and/or gave exp/mettle, lockboxes or anything really, people who don't need Castrum would still do it and people who need Castrum would get their quests done regularly.

They really need to fix this. It would be nice to have more reasons to enter into Eureka. I want to like Eureka. I don't like Eureka, but I'd like to like Eureka. Square-Enix should do more to make me want to play more Eureka.

I'm actually immensely enjoying Bozja and have been playing tons as we got closer to 5.45. I'm probably in the minority, but I'm having a blast, and a lot of that is because most enemies on the field feel manageable to kill if I do aggro, and enemies aren't clustered in ways that make it extremely difficult to traverse the zone. Bozja is not perfect, but it feels like they have learned a lot about making this sort of content since Eureka. It would be nice to implement some of these positives adjustments into older content. Do I expect them to? No, not really.

Still would be nice though, and I would highly appreciate them doing it.

I have quit an MMO over map design once (ironically, it was FFXIV 1.0); Pagos is the closest I've come to that point since then... though at least it would only have made me quit Eureka.

I love Eureka. I have a blast in there. And despite this, Pagos kept me out of Eureka for several months, because that zone is literal hell distilled down to terrible map design. I am glad I stuck with it, because Pyros and Hydatos have been fun, but I won't deny there was a sense of "thank the Twelve, I'm free" when I escaped Pagos.

You and nearly everyone else. Lucky Bancho's census way back when Pagos was current showed a drop of 50% for all three regions. Suffice it to say, Pagos has and remains absolutely despised. Granted, they've nerfed it enough to somewhat tolerable now, though I still won't go back.

It is not quite as bad as 1.0's Black Shroud in terms of my loathing for it... but it's real dang close.

I've soloed through Pagos three times now. Pyros is kind of too sprawling for me. Hydatos is literally a rectangle. For me, favorite Eureka zone is between Anemos and Pagos. Anemos I guess has better visuals all around, but I like the mutating monsters and such in Pagos. The only thing I wish it had was the Mnemes, but oh well.

they should really handle better old content, locked with ilvl , i have this issues with Eureka and older 8man maps, like you can really find some people who want to do this, but not mostly through ingame but with third party way like discord and since its still an option i dont know if its okay, same with Eureka :C and yeah, i tried to do some Pyros this weekend, people were there, but mostly for fates with possible rewards/chest not for regular farm... i step a little into Hydatos, but seeing your post, im like i will never finish any eurekan weapon this way :x imagine being someone newbie going from first stages...

And you know how you fix it? Allow BLU in it.

Yes, they will destroy it, but it's old content. Who cares?

We destroy old relic grinds unsynced as it is, why is this even an issue?

Let us unsync in it or let BLU in.
