Looks like it is 45 days since 5.4. 200+ plots in Lavender Beds on Louisoix, 300+ in Goblet, including quite a few mediums. Seems the same on all servers.
Have at them!

Nice for active players to get a chance but can't help but find my old beaten dead horse drum and say that this is a shame that it even has to happen. So many players lost homes, coming back to that isn't going to feel great. Don't feel free to unsub unless you want to lose something, ;/ hashtag hostage or something something like that XD.
/1,000 year salt for the housing system lol
If you're unsubbed for so long that your house demolishes, were you even using it really? Did you derive any value from it? What about your neighbors who saw a vacant house with nobody living in it for so long? Player housing should go to players who will actually use it, both in terms of giving active players a chance to enjoy the housing system and to make neighborhoods more active and vibrant.
Also you're not actually losing much when your house explodes. You keep all your furniture and 80% of the gil cost of the plot.
You are very correct, and it tastes like dirty chocobo tail feathers lol :p.
Don't misunderstand me, I think the demolition system is required and important (and before it existed I was one of the ones suggested it should be a thing). I just think it's sad that it has to be a thing. Many other MMOs have figured out systems that don't need this mess of solutions. All that placard standing, compromise of location, etc.
Given our circumstance I think the demolition system is important and shouldn't be removed. I just hate that this is our circumstance, feels like an issue from an ancient relic of time, and wanted to throw my finely aged salt around :D.
There's probably a dozen(last I checked anyway) smalls open in Shirogane on Cactuar
Plenty of smalls on Cactuar. Haven't seen anything bigger open yet.
I'm just waiting for a large to open in Shiro. Would love to upgrade my house.
Louisoix update
Shirogane 102/0/0
Mist 165/3/0
Beds 200/9/0
Goblet 247/35/0
Looks like it’s plot moving season! Get that vista you’ve always dreamed about!
I can't even find the vista I've dreamed about, because finding the plot in the correct ward or whatever is so convoluted. I am lost 99% of the time I'm in there! (Never tried buying a house before, or really explored the wards)
Look around, find what you want. Battle it out with the competition with a click your mouse till your fingers fall off...off. The winner gets to watch their dream home be relocated into!
In all seriousness though, it's basically like that. Unless you have a house already and the gil to relocate, it's going to be rough.
If there are truly over 200+ plots open for each server, then is lack of plots a truly Housing feature issue, or was it just a COVID-timer-suspended issue?
Both. The lack of available plots was compounded by the timer suspension. 200+ plots still isn't very many when you take into account each server's population, most of which will still be homeless after this housing blitz. Were this a few years back, I would bet even the Goblet would still have smalls a couple weeks later. Now people will take whatever they can get in the hopes of getting what they actually want later. The player base and housing demand have only grown with time.
Still interesting to see how many had never been in their house the past 45 days
So near, and yet so far... lost out to a bot that's still there, clicking away at the sign despite having bought it hours ago. Happened to a friend, too.
I hope the cheaters enjoy their houses.
Hopefully I can find one. I just need to figure out how to navigate these areas. Many houses won't be available until tomorrow here, I don't think. Some others soon. Supposedly, I just buy what I can get, and relocate later - if I can. I really just need somewhere to dump all these decorations SE keeps giving me.
My friend lost her house because Square made an accounting error and dragged their feet on restoring her account. We have called written and done live chat. This is ridiculous, we got the same please be patient for 2 months now she lost her house. Squares customer service is non existent and their policies ridiculous
Kind of bittersweet that so many houses opened up, it's good because we get more first time housing owners and it's a great feeling getting a house for the first time, but it's also kind of sad when you realize that a lot of those deleted houses were owned by people who are now currently jobless, homeless, or no longer among us.
Every ward in The Goblet on Leviathan has at least one plot open, none have been available to buy, I already had to report a botter, and there's someone who owns a plot right by a empty one trying to buy up said empty one. (Plot 58 ward 21 if your curious)
Christ Almighty, this system is so bad
Yeah, I went back to check and most I could have gotten were already gone, I have to wait until tomorrow. And there is at least one person at almost every plot, I don't know if there will even be any left tomorrow.. Don't think I've ever felt so left out by a housing system, until this game. I have too many houses in other games.
Even if you see people, try making a round or two through plots trying to buy only once per round.
I got a house that way. Although to be fair I didn't care where I'd get one and if I decided to move to another ward I could just pay to relocate.
For the kind of content small private estate/housing wards offer, the stress of camping specific spots and placards really, really isn't worth it.
Welp, I did it, I beat housing extreme.
I'm just bewildered, I literately just walked up to the plot while there was someone camping the plot, and bought it, that's it. Christ, I don't even know where to start, maybe I should finish getting my crafters to 80 for the decor, but that would involve crafting and holy hell do I find 5.X crafting boring.
...there's 2 million people dead to COVID. What are the odds that some of them are FFXIV players and obviously can't log in?
but then lets also assume that most of the players couldn't afford their subs anymore because no job, home, etc before the timer was reinstated.
Anyway, I'm gonna forgo taking part in this housing frenzy, good luck to everyone.
No doubt he/she was AFK.
Expect most cases are marked as covid, person could die due to cancer or some other illness that has nothing to do with the virus. But I have no doubt many of these people are still struggling without jobs yes.
It’s very nice. I would say between 5.35 and this the housing situation on my server has just about been solved. If we get ishgard soon then I would say houses are available for all who want if the demolitions go back to normal.
But now it obviously becomes about getting medium and large. But still this is a really good step lots of happy people today.
I am making my runs through the wards, while waking up, and making breakfast. I have finished the Lavender Beds, for example. I have been marking notes in notepad, so I can keep track of backup locations in 3 hours. In the LB there are 4 smalls available TOTAL, 2-3 people camping each one.
I'd prefer a house in the Lavender Beds, but I doubt I'll get one. I am kind of OCD, in that my character's city state is gridania, so I want my house in gridania. Hopefully I can find an alternative.
Update: So far, Goblet has 2-3 campers per house as well.
And it's EVERY ONE -- and most of them have the frown face (Do Not Contact). I mean, they have more gil than basically any legitimate player and can just park and script.
You basically almost HAVE TO break the TOS right now to even THINK of getting player housing.
Finished my evaluation of The Goblet. There are 20 small plots available, only 2 (at the time of typing) without at least 1-3 people camping it, with, as you say, the frown face. Every single house has a timer. Moving on to The Mist. Will go back in in another 40 minutes to an hour to reevaluate, and choose a location. If I can't get a house in a couple hours, I will have wasted my early morning.
Update: In total there are 5 small plots available in The Mist. Each with 2-3 camping them. Unless some of these people are legitimate, and actually afk, I expect all available housing to be purchased in under 2 hours. Kugane housing has 0 available plots, as expected.
To wrap it all up, there are 29 available SMALL plots on Excalibur - with a timer of just under 2 hours.
A perk of playing on a dead server.
Most long term players know that buying a house is the worst thing you can do in the game due to how it got implemented. You lose the ability to drop the game for a while and come back fresh instead of being dragged through the game until it loses all it's magic. Believe me, I've been there. Just about everyone who left and said they would remember to log on at least once to keep their house while taking a three month or six month hiatus lost their house.
Specifically three or four people I had on my friends list who stopped at 5.2x and didn't log on even when I told them in discord that they were going to lose their plots. :x
Yea this is what I did on my alt on Malboro no one camping in the Goblet. Really didn't look around just walked up and simply bought one. When I popped back into Aether which I have a med. plot on already. People were camping the sought out spots but no one camping the undesirable goblet spots. I still stand by get the first one that pops up even it is undesirable. Having a plot is better than nothing and it unlocks the opportunity upgrade and bypass future timers on desirable plots.
Is it a bot when I see these people looking up and down at the board every few seconds?
