What is your favorite patch in Shadowbringers so far? For me, even though 5.4 was pretty good, and 5.0 had a very good msq, I like 5.3 most of all.
5.3 was amazing. The game managed to make this old man cry again. They are doing something right. 5.1 and 5.2 are the setup for 5.3 but still very good. 5.4 didn't really do much for me. I am not worried about it though. I have faith in Yoshi and his team to make something great for the next expansion.
5.4 felt like stormblood again in an unpleasant way. Opening with Lyse saying “welcome back everyone!” Was exactly not what I’ve been looking forward to.
5.0, because it was the only patch where GNB had well made SFX that sounded like a blade, and not a blunt bat.
Also it had 2 endgame dungeons instead of 1.
5.0 for sure with the entire Ascian backstory
5.1 and 5.2 were forgettable honestly.
5.3 that took Elidibus from some meme comic villain to a tragic backstory with real motivations that anyone could sympathize.
5.4 I never liked Gabu so that should tell you how I feel about a patch devoted to him 85% of the time but the trailer is 99% devoted to MUCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH more interesting content.
5.0, parts of 5.2, some aspects of 5.3. 5.1 and 5.4 both did very little for me other than the lore on tempering.
I can't pin down a favorite patch.
5.1 I really liked the Grand Cosmos dungeon and Beq Lugg.
5.2 I liked hanging out with the Scions in the MSQ, also the Bismarck story. It also gave us the first of the Ruby Weapon storyline. I also really liked Bozja, seeing Gerolt with Rowena and going into Cid's mind and exploring the ruins of Bozja Citadel and the Varis fight. I also kinda liked flying around in Eden and restoring balance to the First.
5.3 Liked the MSQ conclusion. I really liked the G-warrior fight. I also loved going to Terncliff, wish it was larger and that there were more NPCs. I also really liked Bozja. Dwarf story was fun.
5.4 I liked getting to chill out with Alisae and G'raha Tia. Loved Matoya's Relict, wish it was larger and not as linear, though. I liked Fandaniel. I thought that the Emerald Weapon fight was cool. Valens scene was great. Looking forward to the next segment of Bozja.
So far my least favorite stuff has been the Eden storyline and the Nier raids. I thought that the first two tiers of Eden were okay. Flying around in the spaceship with the hype music with Thancred and Urianger and Ryne to restore balance to the first, and the new takes on old bosses were cool. I wasn't into the Oracle of Darkness storyline.
I think that the Nier storyline has been a complete dud.
I wasn't a fan of how Limsa was resolved in 5.4.
I'm looking forward to seeing more Zenos and Fandaniel. I have hopes for them. I know having him do major stuff might have taken away from Elidibus' story but he REALLY shouldn't have been sitting in a chair doing nothing for 4 patches.
5.0.
The initial launch was really great and it just went downhill from there.
Funny enough I really didn’t like most of the patches this expansion. 5.3 being the exception which felt like a epic finale rivaling Nidhogg as one should.
5.1/5.2 has some great anime plot twists while 5.3/5.4 had barley any to advance the plot unlike the past mostly due to the fact our antagonists are bland as bolocks and the narrative is getting a “been there done that” vibe
Story wise, 5.0 followed by 5.3. 5.2 was ok; 5.1, I barely remember outside of the Estinien's solo instance and 5.4...
5.4 was a real pita. Being back to SB and 2.xx after Amaurot was a huge huge letdown for me. Hopefully, we'll kill angry kiddo Fandy and his zero dimension master Zenos in 5.5.
5.0 and 5.3 are my favourite so far. The original launch was just amazing (minus the job flubs), and 5.3 was just such a memorable conclusion to that chapter of the story.
5.3 was the incredible MSQ, the dwarves, the G-fighter weapon, Bozja southern front and puppets bunker right? I think that wins by some margin.
I am going to like 5.4 once we get the new ishgard restoration stuff and more Bozja and the blue mage, but as I’m not a savage raider this patch pretty much only lasted a week before I went back to the southern front.
5.0 would probably be my pick, you had the excitement of a new expansion, all the stuff to look forward to and the cracks in certain places weren't showing yet.
5.0 and 5.3. I like some part of 5.4 (not the gabu part) because I actually like SB, so sue me I guess.
5.0. They will be hard pressed to top that story from here on out. 5.3 was a close second though.
My favourite patch will be 6.0 when this overrated expansion ends
5.0, 5.3 for the story, and I think Eden is the best raid story yet. The rest of Shadowbringer content patches is SEVERELY lacking. Its like a reverse Stormblood - where the initial launch was sub-par, and the patches added really good stuff. They dropped the ball on expanding on ShB so hard it hurts.
5.0 and 5.3
5.4 is awful the msq part is the most generic boring thing ever
5.0 i kep hoping hildibrand quests happen again.
