Nobody cares.... Especially the mods :D
Leve linking is not cheating... and having a bad name it also not cheating...
Also having more that one account it isn't against ToS. And you need more prove to said that they where botting, not only the names and the rank they have.
As long they don't do RMT it's not banneable. So, move along.
Guess OP only started the game. For a while they were everywhere, but they disappeared since no one buy FFXIV gil (not completely because it sucked, but also that there is not much to spend gil on). I'm surprised that RMT still bother with it.
Yeah, but if we exercise some common sense here, why would someone go through the trouble of creating 10 characters with randomly generated names? They may not be violating the ToS now, but it's definitely worth keeping tabs on for the future when this game might actually become popular enough to buy gil.
There's this same group on my server that's always in Cedarwood standing by the aetheryte while one character does all the work, and you just see them constantly leveling up at the aetheryte doing nothing.
They are on every server... You only need to know where to look (Cedarwood Aetheryte Camp).
Most likely they have 8 accounts dedicated to each server with 8 characters per account.
They PL each one to 50, then cycle through 99 leves x 8 characters (792) simultaneously farming gil, drops or rewards at Cedar Wood.
Once the first 8 characters 99 leves run out they move on to the next 8 characters on each account and repeat.
By the time they are done with the 8th character on each account the first 8 characters will have replenished 60+ allowances each.
It's pretty logical. I'm sure they have obscene amounts of gil.
Unfortunately, until they get caught in the act of selling gil or using a bot SE cannot ban them and will just reap the benefits of their subscription fees.
a crap load in skull valley aeth crystal...ran past that camp only to see 6-7 people named "aksjdaskdjba" and stuff like that...
As I have stated in several other threads, let me explain again
1) leve linking like this is not cheating, its not botting either unless you can PROVE they are using a program to do it
2) common sense does not apply when requiring proof to act against someones account
3) SE is probly keeping an eye on all these accounts we report, waiting until they do that which can be banned, so keep reporting! But do not whine cuz they dont get banned instantly, cuz facts are, they havent broken any rules "yet" and thats what they are waiting on.
What I really want to know is, what sorry excuse for a player is buying their gil? Because if nobody is buying it, why would they keep doing it?
Everyone always says something like: "Its not cheating to have a weird name and a large group of people." Seriously? have you played FFXI? The second I saw one of those, I said: "Great, now this games got bots now." A large group of people ALL with random names, level 1 gear, no LS, and all look mostly the same. Thats a fucking bot if I ever saw one. There may be no Proof but its sure as hell enough reason for them to be monitored.
No one is saying that they aren't RMTs, they're just saying you can't get them banned just because you think they are RMTs. They most likely are being monitored, but as for now they aren't doing anything wrong, unless of course they're using bots. Then you should report them as bots, not RMT.
True Strike.
Formerly, a minimum of 15 accounts per server. With the party reduction to 8 characters and the server merge, I imagine things are messy.
Marie Therese used to run the Cedarwood group with a handful of "Bes xyz" characters.
On uncommon occasion, you'll find one that has a jittery Exorcist-like head, soloing some monsters. For these, please report them to the Special Task Force (link near bottom) to flag for investigation of third-party software.
People do buy the gil (even on closed beta accounts). They're a separate community often staying away from official forums as are those who specialize in using bots have their own community.
If the RMT are of a decent lot, they are paying their dues using legitimate means for the software copy and subscription, in which case, SE makes some money.
If they are not so respectable (which is usually the case), they are using stolen and false credit cards on top of other things... If SE pursues these characters, ultimately, SE loses money from having to refund the cards, disputing the incident, and investigating the accounts.
