Farming gear in dungeons should not be this annoying.

I was farming some dungeons for some gear, just to use for glam purposes not leveling and everything was easy because I could just run in and out solo unsync no issues at lv 80. Then I start farming a level 80 dungeon for a pair of boots I need.....and after 35 runs into The Grand Cosmos....no luck at all.
The problem? I can't unsync and just beat the first boss and run out solo because it's not able to be unync'ed so If I go in I have to go through the whole thing every time,
Trust is not reliable and only gives you 1 item per chest so I have a lower chance of getting the item I want and It requires a ton of grind to get at least 2 characters to 80,
and the easiest way I can actually get what I want is to grab 3 other people and make them come with me just to beat the first boss or open the 2nd chest and dip out until I get it, which seems like a hassle.

Honestly, I feel like there should be a token system for dungeons like how there is one for extreme trials. It would make gear farming FAR less annoying as you are at least guaranteed a piece of gear after let's say 10 runs and a piece of jewelry after 5. Until then I'll just be endlessly farming Cosmos hoping to just get lucky....after 35 runs through this place...

I understand your frustration... 35 tries without luck. I would have stopped way before that.

Now for the solution, a token per dungeon run implies a lot of token as you need one per dungeon. Pretty sure that this won't be implemented.
Your solution to grab 3 friends and farm the first boss is the way to go. It's an mmo after all, based on group content.
Or you wait 6.0 so you may solo unsync' it but I doubt you'll wait until that.

Did you check on Garland Data Tool if your item has a shared model easier to acquire?

Unfortunately, everything from The Grand Cosmos is unique so there is nothing similar to it except for the casting shoes also found in the same dungeon. The glam I'm going for is for a healer though.

Imo, SE should just extend the system from the leveling dungeons, where you receive a guaranteed a piece of gear for your class at the end of the dungeon, to level cap dungeons as well. Farming old dungeons for glamour would become a lot easier.

I really like that Idea, It would still be a grind but I would help a lot!

You don't have to do the whole dungeon with trusts. Enter with a trust, loot boss, leave the dungeon. Repeat as necessary.

I can understand them not doing it for current endgame dungeons, but it should definitely be a thing for the 50/60/70 dungeons. Some of the gear from those might as well be mythical, and I feel like I can't throw stuff out of it's even slightly interesting because I might never see it again. Doubly so for the Lv60 dungeons that have no gear drops outside of boss fights, leaving you with a 1-in-14 chance per run of obtaining a specific piece. Even with two chances per piece per run (so 1-in-7) it's not reliable at all.

As stated the problem is that you only get one loot drop per chest, not 2, so the chances of getting what you want are lower than normal. Also, I have to grind dungeons for them to get to 80 first which makes you do the same dungeon back to back just to level them up.

When i tried to farm for Plague Doctor's set i've never seen the Coat actually dropping in the ~40 runs of Arboretum. Like i got every other set twice over, but no Plague Doctor's Coat. In the end i simply gave up.
That being set, Plaguebringer's Coat is amazing on my RDM (and BLU).

That's exactly where I'm stuck on. I want the Plague Doctor coat and also the Valkyrie Coat from Xelphatol/Gubal and neither will drop for me.

I also farmed for that very same set and It took me about 50 runs before I got everything. It's a shame that the devs make all this cool dungeon gear yet provide no good way of actually obtaining said gear outside of farming endlessly and praying to rng.

I've been running Matoya's Relict more times than I can count now...just for a pair of gorram boots. I've literally gotten full sets, accessories included, for other jobs just by greeding, but I've only gotten 2 accessories for my job. Not even an armor piece.

At least I've made bank selling stuff I'd bought with all the Allegory tomes I've racked up, but man I'm really starting to hate this dungeon lol.

idk as they can trivialize the grind to make them too easy id welcome a token system as some drops ive literally never seen but dungeons at this point is so sidelined that i think PVP takes more priority

Before they buffed trust xp, it was only three runs per level. You could have done one trust run per day and leveled a full trust party to 80 in a month. Then they buffed it and it's even faster.

Cant you just set them to story mode so they wont get exp but youre still gettin loot...?

3 runs x 2 levels x 2 sets of three characters = 12 runs of a single dungeon before you can move onto the next one.

That's not going to get you to Lv80 in a month.

And I'm fairly sure three runs per level is the current number, not the one from before they buffed it.

Once you've cleared 5.0 you have no ability to return to story mode until you've levelled all of the trusts to 80.

I remember getting them all to 80 and the next week there was the patch that doubled their exp gain.
