It looks fine to me, but i am also the only person i know who can touch my wrist with the hand attached to it.
I can't tell by your pic... which way are the palms facing?
Cuz it looks like they're facing inwards towards the skirt, and if so there's nothing wrong with it.
No, it's the backs of the hands that are against the hips. Doesn't look comfortable.
Also, male midlander hyurs basically have 2 of the same pose now, we already had one with a hand on the hip and the other arm dangling...and one of the new ones is same hand on the hip, same arm dangling, but looks like way stiffer...not animated very well...but it's essentially the exact same pose. /facepalm
Heh, the animation execution isn't so great (intern quality) and could certainly be more professional, but if you stand and try it for real, it's not so bad.
There are four ways to hold one's hands at the hips, Western people likely more do it in either an angry fist or gripping the hips with fingers pointing to their genitals.
But there is also palm to the hip and back of hand to the hip.
I did just try to put my hands like that against my hips and it was sortof fine.
Looks a bit awkward but it's OK I guess.
Idk why they made these two hand poses sort of aggressive or like I said on my thread, stiff for some races. More casual and relaxed would've been more welcome. It's like they wanted to make an altered version for that new guard emote but even worse.
I tried this pose IRL for 10 seconds and my arms are hurting. lol
But I like the pose anyway, my Miqote is strong! lol
Idk, I can turn my wrist like that no problem...
And I love the new pose, it looks so sassy! I've been wanting it ever since I saw yshtola use it in arr.
I find the one hand one weird. Your hand is just floating there, and I know it's to accommodate clothing , but it looks like you're telling the doctor "It hurts right about here."
I just did it and it's kind of okay? Not the pose I would stand in for long, mind me, but it's not that bad. Not when you carry sword of your own body size.
It seems okay to me. Unless you have severe mobility issues with your wrists, you should easily be able to hold your arms like that—whether or not it would be particularly comfortable over a long period of time is another matter.
Maybe it’s also a cultural thing, because it’s a common pose in Japanese media when a character is annoyed or being sassy when they’re confronting someone.
The one I have a problem with is the one-hand-on-hip pose because you’re doing a weird hover hand thing to avoid clipping.
The one pose where the hand is just floating by your side looks more unnatural than the wrist on hips pose.
Just here to shed some light on these poses.
They aren't actually "new". I'm 95% certain that the one-hand-on-hip pose is the pose your retainers use when you summon them. And the both-hands-on-hip pose is, believe it or not, something your character has been doing in a handful of cutscenes. These poses have not been made recently they're actually pretty ancient.
I don't think wrists are supposed to bend that way...
