Bring Back Greased Lightning Aura for Monk Please

I've been a Monk main since the launch of 2.0. I will forever love the Job through all its hardships. I'm not asking for the Job be changed back to what it was before the rework. Just for our Aura that was obtained through GL (Greased Lightning) to be restored. It's a harmless effect that didn't need to be removed. Especially since GL is still a trait in Monk's toolkit.

The aura was a big part of Monk's Job identity. This would be like removing Dragoon's aura from "Blood of the Dragon" or Black Mage's "Umbral Fire and Ice" effects. The removal of them would damage the identity of those Jobs at their core. It's bad enough that Monk never got a Chakra Aura that was shown from the lv 70 Job Questline. At least let us keep one of the cool things about the Job, that makes it unique.

Its pretty ironic that they keep obnoxious WAR aura, but remove MNK aura which is not intrusive at all. But thats how XIV devs work. They always screw up something. Just pray its not your main this time.

I'm sorry, but I won't miss it. I've loved Monk, even when it was "bad"...but the constant green swirlies have always annoyed me. How would they even bring it back? With GL being a trait now it would show 24/7, all the time...no...fricken...thanks. I'm not opposed to them bringing back the visual for say a short duration offensive cooldown/buff ability or something, but I definitely don't want to see it constantly anymore.

If not that they could substitute it with something. Maybe an aura or lightning bolts they get stronger as your Chakra fills.

i honestly feel like the fists stances should get their colored version of the old GL aura, its the only thing that makes sense

Eh why waste time on an effect for something that will likely be removed in 6.0

It can be tied to the stances instead. It would only be on as long as you have one of the stance buffs up. A stance buff lasts for 16 secs. So after it falls off, so does the aura.

At the very least it could be a visual indicator for Twin Snakes being up or Chakra.
Maybe even colored versions of it depending on your stance.

Or at least makes it happen when we got Leaden Fist or something.

Would be cool to have like a brand new slot where you can put "aura" effect such as the old greased lightning and other cool effects.

I think the worst offender with monk is that stormblood monk with tornado kick opener whas the highest skill cap monk we had and the most fun and instead of building on that foundation they just removed it when they made anatman wait for the gcd to get one stack. Also monk rotation being absolutely the same since arr and almost no ogcds making Shadowbringer monk the most boring dps.

I do sometimes miss the aura.... but not sure where it would go now. There've been a few suggestions, but maybe it would be one that can be on the monk while they have brotherhood active? Or maybe the devs have some other plan to use it with the Endwalker adjustments.
