Version check [30605][20448][10019]

Hello.

Since maintenance 10am today, I can't open the FFXIV launcher.
My internet connection is working.
I payed my monthly fees too.

Same here, however as the patch hasn't launched yet, ten to one the reason for this is that they're in the middle of loading a launcher update. I'd wait a bit and see if it fixes itself, probably around 9 AM EST.

Same problem, since It's the first time it happens to me I'll wait too, maybe It's for the update

Having the same issue as well this morning. Going to wait a few hours and see if I have the same problem.

Same here. It just started to happen. I have tried all the steps found on the internet and made sure that it's not my antivirus or WiFi, but the launcher itself. I hope they will fix this soon :(

The servers are still down for the maintenance.
I don't remember when the launcher is normally back online to download the patch but it should be available a few hours before the server go back online.

Don't panic and wait a few more hours.

Same, of course. Today if my first day off in about 16 days. Its on me for not keeping up with the update schedule, but it still stings a little.

- restarted my pc
- restarted my router
- put down antivirus and firewall
- switch to another network
- changed BootVersionCheckMode from "0" to "1"

The servers are down for maintenance until 2 am PDT tomorrow. Usually you'll be able to download the update a few hours before maintenance ends.

I don't know how to do any of the things mentioned above so any step by steps on what to do would really help......

You know the maintenance is scheduled to end tomorrow, right? And the game is inaccessible during that?

Just wait for the maintenance to end. You won't be able to log in or update your launcher until the servers are back up. There's nothing wrong :)

Tried every fix in the book for it so it's definitely on their end.

So it ends on the 8th at night???

Hahaha whoops. Guess I should have checked here first before trying to do a fresh install. But in my stupid stupid defense, the launcher has come up for me even during maintenance, just with a "hey addict go find something else to do" message. WELP.

Maintenance during game prime-time? Well, i was looking forward to play this after work ends. Started playing it just yesterday... looks like a change of plans for today:D

Big updates to the game (version updates) usually take a full day of maintenance. Smaller updates (patches) are usually 2-4 hours.

I got the same problem I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled, restarted my computer and switch networks. I've even change the boot config stuff and nothing is working. Such a bummer considering I was just playing this yesterday.

You won't be able to update the launcher or the game until the servers are up a few hours before maintenance ends. Today is a full maintenance day for a version update, and the game will be back up around 2 am PDT tomorrow morning.

Oh thank god thought it was an issue on my side.

whoa, it's still under maintenance? :o i was gonna come post here cause i have the same issue, but that's because i was expecting maintenance to be over by now lol

Seriously I was getting frustrated because it wasnt connecting to the boot launcher.
I reconfigured the router
Edited Registries
Reset Network
DID A FRESH INSTALL OF WINDOWS, this was a newly built PC so it had like 3 games on it.
Bought new cables
50000000x windows network diagnostics in powershell and command prompt connecting to 6 different countries to test any security protocol interference

and yall couldnt at least make an error pop up "In maintence...."

You could read a announcement every time you logged in chat for like a week.
They also used all available plattforms to say about this.
You even had it written in the launcher.

I cant understand why people missed it because it was everywere.

Lame so when the game is done I have to wait even longer to play cuz now I have ALL the patches to wait for lol ah geez lol

I get why you state that and I do somewhat agree. The reason I wound up checking this forum wasn't cause I was trying to play but was curious of the patch if it was letting early downloads yet since they had the bug reports already stating in their usual spots with errors.

The error made me worry a tad bit that I will have to redownload the launcher when maintenance is over but if I recall this happened one other time I played in the last year and a half and all was fine just had to wait for the first few hours before the launch time. People are hyper wanting to be the first to run just cause of how well messed up the economy is on their server. The first day or so of patch is the fastest and easiest way to make money due to people wanting instant gratification and the newest things first XP.

Luckily worst case for me due to my internet speed is just if I do need to re-download a new launcher when it starts, I do know how to.

I hadn't been on for awhile because I was too busy with real life things going on and this is my firs time playing with a new game coming out.....sorry....

will be up and running at 2am tuesday morning for those on the east coast it will be at 5am tuesday morning.

Ok they wrote it in the launcher...but in 3pt lol...if many people is confused about the time they need for maintenance maybe they failed to communicate it... the simplest way: a popup window with the server status...but what we have? a misunderstanding error.

Really??? I even uninstalled the game... ARRGGHYGHHH!!!!

I don't play everyday
My chat windows are designed to segregate those messages because they're often filler.
Launcher said the date, never said what services would be included to inclue the boot launcher. In most games the version check is independent from the actual launcher itself.

100% this. When I log in, I got things to do people to say, dont sit there reading the generic server announcements.
Imagine if I told you, the kitchen is out of service.
Ok, well what part of the kitchen is out of service? The food prep, the fridge? The people? Specify what exactly is or is not going to be there, this is communication.
They did not use all available platforms and even if they did, they never specified "Boot Version check" would be offline, I can promise you that to all Keyboard warriors out there

Glad I'm not the only one. I did delete and reinstall. Guess I'll now have to spend 1-2 hours having it download again when everything is back up and running again. Don't be like me kids, research first.

They annouce the issue for this problem

This can happen with major patch updates. Once servers are back up everyone will be able to launch the version check with no issues. I've seen this happen a few times before. No cause for worry.

On that note, the server connection appears to be working on my end now. Try it again.

It's also on the launcher under news for weeks prior to the actual maintenance.
It's announced in the game in your chat box.
They tweet about it.
It's on the official site.
It's on the forums.
They talk about it extensively in 2 different live letters on average.
They talk about it in interviews with various gaming news networks.
People talk about it here, on reddit, podcasts, YT, etc as soon as we get even small scraps of news.
You also passed multiple announcements and links on your way into this very forum, to complain that there are no announcements.

You need to almost purposefully ignore it to not know there is maintenance going on...

Also I highly doubt you reinstalled windows and bought new cables, that is clearly some weak elaboration. If you knew to do that as a (usually last resort) troubleshoot, you surely know how and when to do a minimal google search when only 1 game/app on your PC does not work.
