Chocobo suggestion

So far as I know regarding some support skills/effects as SCH's pet/materias, Haste or Slow, per exemple, can't be casted directly (correct me if DNC or BRD can do so).

At this point so far I've been up to Lv 70 and I love support abilities generally.

Does SE team intend to add a fourth Chocobo skill tree as support (Haste, Slow, Esuna even if it's more a healer skill, etc.), since a Chocobo can be a mage (healer tree)? I'm not specifically talking about DoT skills, just the buffs and debuffs.

Hearing your opinions why it could be nice and why it couldn't be possible would be great.

i think we've pretty much seen all there is to chocobos at this point.

They haven't updated companion chocobo since they introduced thav onions to make them be able to unlock every skills, and the fruit to change their colours as far as I'm aware.

I wish the chocobo breeding was better. Want to actually raise a baby birb from day one into a companion. My choco is rank 20 and I love it to bits, would be cool to breed it and have a mini birb. Take real time to mature etc, the better you care for it, it gets bonuses etc.

Getting the chocobo companion I think is now part of the MSQ progression. I recall it being an optional sidequest thing previously. I'd actually like Chocobo Knight added as a new job in game to expand on chocobo companion but the question would be effective implementation. Though I could at least deal with it being a limited job so long as it had the same level cap as all the non limited jobs and it still could queue normally for certain duties like Eureka and Bozja where specific job role compositions aren't required to queue.

Not a bad idea. There have been a lot of requests for improvements to Chocobo companions. I wish the tank mode was better and could be used to pull. Adding a CC and some debuffs would be great.

But that would mean implementing FFXI like gameplay and we all know how much this forum hates the other SE MMO. lol

In all seriousness, I really like the idea.
Chocobos are cool and all but the system could use some spicing up.

That ability should only unlock when you change your chocobo's color to red.

Chocobo companion content is so neglected that they still have accuracy traits. I wouldn't hold my breath.

I kinda hope beastmaster is added and with the ability to capture beast to time, giving us as companion pen or something were we can get other companions, full customized

As far as the skill tree goes, I believe the idea behind the chocobo stances is so it can fill whichever of the three primary roles in the game, so it is doubtful this would get updated to include a more supportive role. It kind of does that already by assisting with keeping you alive, regen buff, or killing the enemy. DPS bird is quite strong and can inflict a DoT, is awesome with stuns, and can actually benefit from the chocofeed bonus you give it.

It would be nice to give them an update that at least brings the birds up to date. Traits like enhanced accuracy and increased HP are redundant. Tank stance can't hold enmity with the damage output of players, and pretty useless unless you want to send your bo after a mob while you're gathering or something, but we have stealth so it's just for giggles to do that. Healer stance bird loves to soak damage with you, which isn't too bad until an enemy uses a nasty status effect like Paralyze.

A lot of players would love updates to the companion system, and there really is a lot they can do with it if they chose to allocate the time and resources to do so. I think a lot of the playerbase would not oppose it, and be happy it went into that instead of something viewed as less popular, or not even asked for, which the devs will do from time to time. I guess they don't see it the same way though.

Companions need a lot of work, and it saddens me that I know they won't do anything about it. I've been stuck at lvl 20 since Heavensward and I want more companion content already.

-Yes, there definitely needs to be more skill trees added. Definitely a Mage tree.
-I would like to companions have greater access to content, such as dungeons.
-We should be able to customize skill trees more, whether that comes in the form of adding individual skills to a custom tree or allowing us to make a custom "free stance" where we can pick which trees we want included.
-There needs to be chocobo-exclusive content, kind of like airships and submarines.. and some of this content should be locked behind chocobo level or something, so that there is an actual need to work on your companion.
