You wait 1 hour, Castrum pops up, Not enough join cause its worthless, Repeat

Pre-hotfix: No point doing skirmishes/CE after rank 15. Wait for castrum

Post-hotfix: No point doing Castrum for coins, FATEs drop coins+mettle+exp. Wait for CE.

Obvious-5-year-old-can-come-up-with-solution: Buff the main attraction of Bozjan: Castrum to reward EXP+Mettle.

FATEs will scale and can be done regardless of how many participate, Castrum requires a bear minimum of 20+ to even attempt. Why make it less desirable to join the raid that requires more people?

This will probably be addressed in 6.4 or so.

Agreed. Castrum isn't rewarding and it's hurting the players that want to do that content.

Well they said that the fix for dropping coins was just a hot fix, not an actual solution, so maybe 5.4 will give us something.

Welcome to not having a PTR server to pre test content. The problems with Castrum are pretty obvious from Mettle loss, lack of rewards and complete pointlessness of it after doing the story quest.

You also need someone to organize the groups because this game is not designed with 24+ raids in mind it seems outside of alliances which this is not somehow!?!??!

It took some time, but after returning to the game and hitting up Bozja for a little while I got to rank 10. After a day or so I finally managed to get myself inside Castrum with 32 other people. We then proceeded to wipe on the very first encounter. Think that told me all I needed to know there. I hope they address this because I actually don't mind Bozja. I just don't like this being a gatekeeping instance that very few people actually do, and those that try are new or simply aren't capable of learning on the fly.

They really need to do something. I just got back to the game and I kinda miss the "train" for Bozja when it got release.
I've been trying to finish the quest for Castrum for the last week or so. Not enough are doing it (which is fair concidering that the rewards are not really worth the effort).
I see quite a lot of people having the same issue. I rarely see much people joining for it and when there is the amount of new players (and lack of people again never saw more than 20~24 players) we wipe pretty fast.
Then it's back to waiting a good amount of time for Castrum.
It's really frustrating to not being able to complete the quest.

Never been that frustrated in a very long time and felt like (for the 1st time) going to the forums to share my experience and hope Square Enix will change it so people like me can enjoy the content.

And when i wanted to do fates to get that last level i was to lazy to get i got into 3 instances where after like 10 min castrum popped and ppl joined it, leaving like 8ppl outside xD

The only thing I can really suggest is keep trying. I got lucky eventually. Just need to be in the right place and time. I think the accessibility was a step in the right direction in ways that BA was not, but there needs to be more incentives for veteran players to run the instance.

I dont even care about the rewards.
Castrum was fun enough that I wanna run it more. Especially since it's got a lotta different paths it looks fun to replay.
Yet... I've only been able to get into it once.

I'm not the type of person who give up that easily (I do get frustrated tho). ^^'

But yeah, I agree. It should be more attractive to veteran players to run it, a bit like roulettes are, if I were to pick an example. So it helps both sides, veterans and new players.

I'm guessing they think the deep essences are incentive enough somehow, but nah, not really.

See this is their exact line of thinking. It's not enough SE. Stop making this content difficult to run because no one has the motivation.

Personally don't care about the almost-guaranteed mettle loss
don't care about the lack of exp
don't care that the coins are basically "better" to farm from skirmishes.

I do care that I get field notes which I can convert to violet starboxes. Would rather not get anything at all then yet another albeleo notes. Why are violet stars basically in the loot table for castrum?

Castrum is as difficult as any normal alliance raid.
You just need to communicate to split the joining player 50/50 for the first boss.

But they should really increase the reward for a story relevant dungeon.

Your best chance to get into castrum is with a discord group.
On light we got one who does some organized runs.

Out of my last 12 castrum attempts 0 have made it past the first boss and less than 10 people join it.

This is incredibly frustrating. Squareenix please.

The only change they made to castrum was guarenteeing a memory drop from it. Something that old raids get you must faster and you don't have to wait an hour in queue for. This is ridiculous.

Got a bit of a miracle clear with 28 just a bit ago. Wiped several times -- that's an expensive Mettle fight. Given the necessity, though...

I got a lucky run with 32 people on Friday, spent rest of weekend just trying to max out lvl in there ha shave seen less than 15 queue up since...

I've been trying to run it and got in twice but both times were wipe once = everyone leaves, and this was about 22/23 people, but when I'm running between camps for random skirmish or criticals we easily have like 50+ burning through everything, those ones that don't join castrum could easily have done so but I guess there is no incentive for whatever reason, but what incentive is there to do bozja at all then? The whole zone itself just feels full of griefers and gatekeeping tbh, making a bigger issue out of what is actually pretty fun content imo and interesting lore wise. I hope devs make a good fix instead of just making it toned down.

The following adjustments have been made to Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr.
・ The drop rate for loathsome memories of the dying has been increased for critical engagements in the Bozjan southern front.
・ The drop rates for haunting memories of the dying and vexatious memories of the dying have been increased for FATEs in applicable areas.
・ The number of loathsome memories of the dying obtained upon completion of the critical engagement “The Battle of Castrum Lacus Litore” in the Bozjan southern front has been increased from 1 to 5.
・ The maximum number of Bozjan coins that can be obtained from personal spoils in the critical engagement “The Battle of Castrum Lacus Litore” in the Bozjan southern front has been increased from 26 to 100.
・ Completion of the critical engagement “The Battle of Castrum Lacus Litore” in the Bozjan southern front will now reward mettle and Allagan tomestones of revelation or experience points.
* Characters whose levels are 80 outside of the instance will receive Allagan tomestones of revelation, while characters below level 80 will receive experience points.

Is that going to be enough to change anything, or just a lot of folks hoping it will to warm the dead corpse a while?

Makes augmented gear farming feasible, and has become the best way to farm that step of crystal IMO. Crystal Tower BLU farms are faster but every party I've joined takes a while to fill and disbands after one clear. I just went into Bozja today, went into Castrum after like 15 minutes, got 100 coins 5 tokens AND A RUNNER'S SECRET, and walked away happy. Clear contender, imo.

When I started to play, people seemed to understand "farm party" and didn't leave after every attempt. Sure, the person who got what they wanted had a 50% chance of leaving.... but it was usually ONLY them.
