One or two should suffice.
kinda defeats the purpose of a roulette doesn't it?
Aurum Vale. the place where even the toughest of WoL break...The place is so crazy because it only takes that one special person to pull the entire first room without realizing what happened lol.
Given that the Aurum Veil instance is a requirement to obtain 2nd Lieutenant in a Grand Company, I do not see it being 'blockable' via leveling queue any time soon.
The point of the roulette is to help people get dungeons they need to progress the game. I always figured AV, Doma castle etc come up more because they get failed more.
If we all skipped Aurum Vale, then it does defeat the point of the roulette somewhat.
I see a lot of people unhappy with roulettes, MSQ especially, they want the reward but not the content.. but this is why those rewards are higher to begin with.
I think it’s only really hard because of the way tanking is done now, if either tank or healer are at level they struggle to cope with the big pulls they’ve been able to get away with up until that point. We never really had too much trouble with it before then.
If you take the mobs as intended it’s easier than Stone vigil and some of the others around that level I think.
I don't have that much trouble with Aurum Vale. The only area I would consider to be even remotely problematic is the first room.
The only memorable thing about Aurum Vale is that it is first dungeon in my history of playing FFXIV where I specifically queued in to it as I just unlocked it for a GC quest and someone left the dungeon the first chance they got, and the party never recovered and I had to leave a dungeon for the first time ever, and without even given the chance to try it, still at the entrance. Other than that, it's just like any other dungeon, with maybe a few wipes here and there, but not often enough to register an attitude toward the dungeon.
What I would do to never get Toto-Rak again...
Does DFAssist still work? Or have they banned it?
*Checks thread date to see if old thread* :P
Yeah. The roulette is designed so that old or unpopular duties remain relevant so new players can more easily complete that content. Removing the old or unpopular duties from the roulette kinda defeats that purpose :)
How many would remove Sastasha and Totorak? Now new players have a harder time running their first dungeons :(
I have no issue with AV as I'll heal it with the idea in mind that when I'm leveling my alt jobs I'll get at least a tank or healer that can do the same.
On the other hand, Toto...
AV is technically a leveling dungeon, and the roulette is called a leveling roulette, so it doesn't make sense to take it off. Also there are many players who enjoy AV, myself included. I queue specifically for it almost daily and don't care about the roulette rewards.
I didn't say Aurum Vale
And there is a shortage of new players, especially at this time. This time being just after pre-patch and a month away from WoW's new release.
But that's all beside the point. The point is that the roulette makes it easier for new players to find a duty, and quicker. Removing unpopular duties undoubtedly makes it harder and longer thereby going against what roulettes are there for.
You have rewards for running roulettes, if you don't want to run the unpopular duties why should you be rewarded for doing it?
Optional dungeons are optional and not as important. You can remove them from the queue by not unlocking and really not impacting a new player's progress through the MSQ.
I would support the ability to remove optional dungeons from the roulette though *shrugs*
Probably a strange opinion, but can I block out the three leveling primal fights? They're quick, but they're just so boring. It feels like a waste of a queue when they pop up.
The point of roulettes is to fill slots for people trying to clear specific duties.
If you aren't willing to play any duty in a roulette then don't queue for it at all. You get the bonus for being flexible when the duty selected by it is cleared.
Aurum Vale isn't even difficult. If issues are arising with people not being able to clear it then it's just an indication that parts of the player base need to start figuring out how to get better at the game. The people aggro'ing the entire first room are probably the same people that complained about the exp loss in Eureka they experienced because they were constantly dying from aggro there when trying to do things alone.
oh my god i can't even naked queue to dodge aurum vale are you kidding me square?
Didnt they nerf aurum vale alot? + newer gear gains over the syns a bit?
I’m not sure how much it was nerfed besides the coin counter getting clearer aoe marks but by giving everyone a piece of loot from every dungeon and creating more loot sets, you generally get much better geared players.
I remember running AV with a tank with several pieces of mage gear. That shouldn’t really happen now.
I never understood the dislike of Aurum Vale. It's one of my favourite dungeons to this very day. Perhaps in no small part due to the lethal mechanics and dangerous environment.
C'mon FFXIV playerbase. Eat your broccoli with cheese sauce, so you can grow up big and strong. That's how I see Aurum Vale :)
Also it's been nerfed directly and indirectly over time.
First nerf would be, that nerf they did to the puddles and to goldblight, making them unable to kill SCH and SMN pets. Next nerf would be the addition of the Coincounter telegraphs.
Indirect nerfs include: Addition of new jobs with insanely high damage potencies, and then general potency increase for every job with each expansion that's come out. There was a time when DRG's strongest hit was 300 potency hahaha.
Now that we get guaranteed leveling gear from ARR dungeons, everyone should be up to par on gear for AV, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they will be, because there's no level sync req, so they aren't forced to equip shit. haha.
