Mogstation Hats for Viera & Hrothgar, Visible Please?

Items that exist on Mogstation or redeemable Hats like Matoya's Hat or Cloud Strifes contest hair should be Visually seen on Viera & Hrothgar. People may view this differently & that's fine, but I don't really see an excuse as to why Matoya's Hat or Y'shtola's Hair, Cloud's hair or Aymeric's hair to not be accessible by Viera or Hrothgar. Yes, they are optional, paid for items (except clouds hair)- but they're cosmetics that are paid for with actual money, which to many came off as a no-brainer that Hrothgar & Viera could have access to them.. which is why many didn't look into it much at the beginning. They weren't aware of how cosmetically restrictive these races were.

I know there has always been back & forth discussion about these issues, but I can't help but still feel frustrated by the radio silence about paid for hats & hairs from the Mogstation still not being accessible by their newest races.

Having Y'sthola's hair, Aymeric's hair & other items like Matoya's hat visually accessible by Viera & Hrothgar would be something that feels like everyone would be happy with or at most, unaffected.

I agree with paid for and contest hairs entirely- and I think it would come down to that Viera hair works sort of like hats do because of the ears, if the ears were not customizable, and came with only one type- or if they changed per face it would be different and maybe we'd have new hairs and faces by now for both Hrothgar and Viera at this point- anything pre shb won't ever be accessible to them I don't think, unless a someone was really dedicated into doing those races a favor. I kind of don't think we will ever get anything new for them unfortunately- or it will be a really long time, months or years.

Looking at that older illustration, I actually think that Viera's ears are placed more like Miqo'te ears here - emerging more from the sides of the head than the top.

Fitting hats on female Viera is a very simple process, it's only a matter of shrinking or enlarging them. But it would take memory/data? Oh don't Lalafel, Elezen, and Au ra getting hats fitted around them take memory/data and development time?

So if the problem is money? Then yeah I'd support putting hats which the community picks up from the game to be in mogstation, if that's what it takes for them to be able to hire more 3D artists to work on female Viera.

Artwork's one thing, 3D artwork is another. What looks like it could make sense in art doesn't proportionally make sense in 3D, it wouldn't line up with the head correctly. Unless the ears would be V-shaped, which has never been the case with Viera sprites nor 3D models (FFXII).

They at the very least started labeling that Head gear and hair styles don't work on them.

As for the topic, it's not fair and it sucks ... but the way gear works in this game there's no "JUST let these work!". There's systems in place that they use. To put it simply if they can make that big Matoya's hat work in a way they deem fitting for this game they can theoretically make a number of other hats work.

Personally? I think Viera should have their ears lay down and poke out from the bottom of the brim of the hat instead of treating them like knives that must poke out from the top at all times. Could be a part of their "hat hair model" and turns off reg ears. Wouldn't help with small hats but ehh, would look cute with full sized ones. Hrothgar ... maybe they should try to make their manes actual hair? Cause there's no reason they shouldn't be able to wear hats other than "manes are either on or off".

I’m annoyed that they won’t even attempt to make the mogstation stuff compatible, seems like a bit of a disservice if you ask me. Just make the ears vanish or clip through, no one is picky at this point, even if it ended up looking trash it’s better than not bothering at all.

That's my gripe... They can argue that they didn't figure out how to make hats work for them, because hats often have intricate designs, but hair? C'mon... Viera ears start more or less in a similar position of a Miqo. To me, it really seems they are just using the whole helm situation as an excuse not to have 1 additional race to model new hairstyles into.

My whole problem with the hats/hoods is when those that are reskins of others. Where one is able to show and the other one isn't. Or the hat hood are very similar in shape. Take for instance the Yorha-51 scouting hood. It's visible on them and the ears just poke out at the top. Then the Yorha-53 scouting hood isn't. The only difference is on other races with long ears they get the ear pockets. Then if you look at the Bozja fending and aiming hoods both of them show on Viera and both look exactly like the Yorha examples. With maybe a monocle added.

I know this is about cash shop hats which at least with new ones to me it doesn't make sense as if it's new it should be made to fit every model. Even if it looks silly and means that I'd have to have an absurd amount of bobby pins in my hair to have the damn hat stay. This is coming from someone who is very picky when it comes to their hats/hoods and normally glamors them to something different.

What good is having exclusive items, if I need to fantasia to another race to play it?
Not to mention, a mother of 2 can fix this problem within 2 months of Dawntrail releasing, in her spare time, coding/modeling by herself in her basement.
There's genuinely no excuse for the sorry state of Viera and Hrothgar.

I'm sure the last remaining 3 unpaid interns are very busy as is, but please try to at least give me my Matoya Hat on Hrothgal kthxbai
