Okay so as a longtime player, and avid mmorpg fan of many years I understand that the pvp in this game needs many things aside from this alone.Honestly speaking the core issue is the lack of players leading to long Q times, and all to often I meet people who don't even know there is pvp in this game.
The current unlock method is very 1.0 easy to miss. Even from a Lore perspective PvP is explained that after the empire is dealt with Limlominsa will continue to raid, the black shroud will protect its lands, and Uldath will focus on it's commence first and foremost. With where the story is going I think making the unlock "A pup no longer" would be the bare minimum of taking a step in the right direction for both world building, and helping this desperate part of the community.
I understand the devs are focusing on PVE, and PVP is the last thing on their minds but please just treating it like The Crystal Tower & My Little Chocobo throw us a spot on the MSQ. Players logging in to see that blip on the top left spot of the screen would literally change Q times overnight.
Make PvP unlock part of the MSQ. Give us the 5.3 treatment

I think at this point, even the Crystal Tower and chocobos have gotten more attention that PVP. And it's not for lack of suggestions -- we've been asking them to bring back 8v8 Feast, different maps, better class balance, more things to buy with wolf collars and marks...etc. etc. At least GARO got people involved in PVP for a time.

When new players are seeing the Late Allagan set that makes you looks like that cybernetic Ninja from the Metal Gear Solid is sure good enough gives new players motivation to Wolf’ Den
Beside, old MSQ did mention PvP few times, I didn’t see that helps -

I think this is the beginning of them completely giving up on pvp, little by little less time and effort is being put into it now and it clearly shows, I wouldn't even get your hopes up for the basic of basic requests...

10-26-2020, 07:07 AMAka4CI actually like running old content and saw a massive spike, and still a better Q then post the 5.3 patch for Crystal Tower raids :). This can cause a ripple effect to occur even if its for a short term its better then absolutely nothing for an entire xpack. The amount of people asking me where I got my armor followed by how to unlock pvp is disheartening. Especially while waiting for the next xpack this can really get the community active in a renaissance of a game mode that gets neglected without the devs having to throw a complete overhaul on the issue for now. As someone who played WoW and Gw2 the pvp was just unlocked or a button to teleport to the pvp lobby FF 14 really staggers in it's delivery of that. This game is so polished in other ways this little change alone would help with exposer especially with all these new players :). This Dev team is amazing, and this is to help them from a player perspective sometimes you shoot for the stars with ideas when an answer is right in front.Quote:

I think Mahjong and Verminion legitimately get more updates with PVP. At least with Verminion, they have to go back and think, "ok, what powers should this minion have?"and then tweak Verminion so it doesn't break the whole system. It makes them go back and look at it and make adjustments.

The thing with CT and mounts is that they have an impact on the wider game. CT has essentially become a second thread of MSQ and has to happen for certain things to make chronological sense. It's not just being made compulsory to get people into alliance raids.
Mounts don't have the same story significance, of course, but IIRC you can't use any mounts until you unlock the chocobo and maybe there were enough people missing the quest and then sending support tickets asking why their event/purchased mounts don't work.
The game generally takes a minimalist approach to how much extra content is linked to the MSQ over just letting the unlock NPC stand around waiting to be approached.
If anything, players need to be more clearly told that the "plus" side quests unlock things and shouldn't be ignored. -

PVP players have to literally CREATE THEIR OWN EVENTS (Aether cup and similar things) which could be something that the dev team could take up and make official.
Instead we get these weird MOBA games like Astragalos which are easily exploited to the point where the dev team just shuts them down completely rather than dealing with them. I get that you can't forecast what will or won't work in an MMO like this, and probably some of the weirdest things they've tried have been super successful and the things with a lot of hype (PVP teams) fell flat on their face.
If anything, the devs haven't given us things -- they've taken them away. Somehow I think this is going to continue until even the most stalwart PVP supporter says "ya know what? I'm done." -

Yes, I agree.. I think they really should do something like a fashion show event in-game. We need more things like that to get the communities involved in their respective things that they enjoy doing outside of go here, kill this mob, get reward.
