It would take 151 runs for a full upgraded set of Boz Gear.... WHY

4 Runs of CLL for a full set of gear isn't bad... however if you want the upgrades afterward:
It would take 42 runs where all prisoners survive to upgrade chest or pants. 21 runs for head, glove, boot. So 151 runs for full outfit and upgrades. The only benefit for the upgrades is a tiny bit of haste inside Boz. By the time you did that many runs you'd never want to set foot inside again. WTF is wrong with devs.

There is an extremely low chance of receiving an upgrade item directly from one of the personal chests, but you're still looking at over 100 runs of something that only spawns once an hour, and you might not get a successful run out of each hour it pops. Add in the completely random queuing system where you get a complete random mix of people, can't job change in the mini-lobby area to correct imbalances, and the fact the upgrades don't even make the gear ilvl 500! W T F is wrong with devs.

*edit* Apparently the upgrade items are sellable on AH, so I guess you could spend around 20 million to upgrade too?

Arent the upgrades sellable on the market board though? Not disagreeing with you, but they did "somewhat" make it much more accessible than say getting totems for ex primal mounts. my bad, been a long night/morning
Edit - it still is going to be a hard bargain, but i think over time the prices might drop. Still nothing to sneeze at by any stretch and i agree the work hard to get it approach seems unrealistic, but hopefully they might lower those costs, or up the drop chance of the upgradables. Peobably be a while for it though

They drop randomly in castrum in the second boss chests I've been told. And I would suspect a nerf coming soon enough or an easier way to get the upgrades in the next relic stage. Upgraded gear will probably be a must in the endgame dungeon.

Drop rates are always shit in new content (like mount farming an EX on release), but MAN that grind is taking it to a new level.

I enjoyed doing the story in Bozja, but I'm probably gonna set it aside until they adjust the numbers.
Like, I've stopped opening my lock boxes because the drop rates are just too shitty. I'll open them when I've got less than a 99% chance to get an indigo star, or when they patch more rewards in like how they added the Red Mage Barding to eureka.

The drop rate for Eureka was so bad at first that it would take 1-2 years of grinding to get the emote, statistically speaking. Of course after some time this was nerfed to a more reasonable level but even still...

Cassie's Earring is sellable on the market too, doesn't really make it any better IMO.

The upgrades drop from castrum. The buyable version is basically the equivalent of the pity mount from extreme trials, but more of a pain in the ass to obtain.

And yet since its pure RNG someone still could need to run it a huge amount of time to get it. Something which you cant even queue up. So you have to be lucky to get it in an instance, lucky that enough people are even there to run it, lucky that the people running it are doing it and then hoping to either get the jackpot by randomly having it in the chest or to get at least as much coins as possible.

As I said in the main post, I know the upgrade items are possible drop from personal chest, but it's an extremely low drop. I've seen a single person say they got one in 10+ runs. I have not gotten anything but coins, notes, music, furnishings and one minion.

I feel like they haven't learned anything from OG Diadem, to BA, to Boz. It's like they don't like the much easier queuing system they already have for instances, and want to shoehorn in alternate things that don't work nearly as well, since they are trying to get away from needing more instance servers for content people want to use.

It needs to be reduced. I can’t for the life of me figure out why they cost so much. Like, why? What is the reasoning for this? Is all future grindable content going to require literally hundreds of hours to complete? That’s astonishingly absurd. Why does this gear cost so much currency? Why?

It's been like a week... It's going to take forever...

The upgrade isn't for you then at this time. Move on there are people that have the complete set upgraded already.
They need to give these people something. Then make it easier for everyone else otherwise the people that get it done in a week complain there is nothing to do.

Mean while just work on it. if you get it 1/2 done now when they nerf it, it will be that much quicker.

I've gotten the head and feet boxes dropped from runs this week. Honestly didn't even know they did drop and had to collect the coins.

The only thing that changes when the armor is augmented from what I can see is an added haste buff that is only applied while inside Bozja Southern Front. Is it really that big of a deal? Everything else on the armor is identical from the stats to the dye options.

Even so, if a situational haste buff is really that important, it's still suppose to be a grind. And more than likely the echo buff will get added when it is no longer current content.

I think it's interesting to note.... what about the future? This is bozjan "southern" front. What if they decide to do western flank or Northern strike and it requires the augmented set to get the next tier.

I would assume they will probably buff the drop rates in Castrum. They buff the drop rates for all the trial mounts once they have fallen far enough from current content. They also buffed the drop rate for the shiver emote from Pagos. Things get buffed/nerfed when we move on to new content.

Got my fending set, got all but 1 relic I want, got the two mounts. All I need is 1 more relic and the hair and I'm done. Don't care for the length of grind to augment the gear so I'm just going to ignore it. I'm more annoyed that when equipped I lose like 400 Skillspeed compared to my other gear set. Makes me wonder if the haste buff is even worth it tbh.

yeah... I think the gear we obtain in Bozjan southern front is only the first tier and as we go into other regions it will be upgradable to another rank instead.

I mean after all Eureka is still kinda stormblood content and we're getting close to closing shadowbringers for the next content.

Those people are going to complain no matter how long they make it take. They're never happy. Especially if they're already getting through it in a week.

Guess it depends if this gear will be required in next stage of bozja, at the moment there isnt really a need for the augmented version. Is this the only armor set for bozja, will there be another upgrade for this set, or will there be a whole new gear set in next stage? We just dunno, but as it stands you can blow through bozja content without it, lost actions provide a much better edge than what the augmented gear can.

I thought haste was a bad stat unless you were a tank or a caster. Everyone always suggests on every dps guides to get rid of sks because it makes your rotations drift, so is getting an upgraded bozja set really worth it if we have no information about future expansions on the zone?
I was one of those lucky ones that got an upgrade piece from the first 10 runs but I don't know what to do with it. I mainly play dancer and machinist and like I said above, sks is recommended to get rid of, I just kinda don't want to waste it if it's that rare.

From the last live letter, I gather that in 5.4 they will add a new 24m normal and 48m savage mode raid only. If you look at the current map you will see a separate area south of it that probably will be the location for this new raid (exactly like Castrum).

I know people who already have full augmented sets. The upgrade items drop fairly frequently if you're actually running Castrum.

People could just be buying them from MB.

I've run it like 15 times and only got 1 drop so I wouldn't say it's fairly frequent.

Not sure what the rush is. I don't see upgraded gear being all that important in this relic patch. I plan on getting the gear but not really sure about upgrading it yet. Eureka I might add had more than one gear set. There was one in pyros and an upgraded one in hydatos. For all we know there might be a better set coming with the next patch.

Just like people would pay insane amounts for a speed belt which after all is said and done didn't really make all that much difference. The gear will matter in the endgame dungeon especially the savage one in my view.

They do not drop that frequently. It's just that they are buyable on the AH. Prices have gone down a little bit, and with some server hoping you can fully upgrade for around 14mil or less with luck. Since no one can buy a house, I guess it's something to waste gil on.
