Job Switch Animation Boring

I play bard a lot and it seems like a lot of careful attention was paid to that job when you turn it on, as you see music staff and notes circling about.

When I turn monk on, just a yellow nothing.

Can we get a yellow and black swirling yin-yang sign or.... or something?

lolwat? i think dev team has a lot more on their plate atm. you rarely see this animation, so rare that it has extremely little priority and importance

Seems like they have time on their hands, with the number one thing on yoshida's letter being female's breast sizes.

^that was faaaar from number 1 on his "letter". And i agree w the first person to respond to your post....there are tons of things that are volumes more important than a change job animation.....honestly. if there ever will be a change to the job animation, itll be in 2.0 if at all....so may as well get used to it.


Also too: what do you mean when they say "seems like they have a lot of time on their hands"? I mean really? The dev team has been working excruciatingly hard to rework the ENTIRE game....from the graphics engine, the story, maps, music, servers....everything. Even in this day and age it still takes a very long time to do, and tbh they are practically making an entire new game, and it is no simple task. Another point: the timeframe that they set for themselves to get this done should be unachievable considering the amount of devs....however it seems that they are right on track w the schedule.....so to YOU it seems like they have a lot of time on their hands when in all honesty, they are working really hard to get 2.0 out. Before posting ignorant posts please consider reality.

They are a tad boring yes.

Also saying they have better things to do ok maybe but doesn't make what OP said invalid. Besides, they have an entire art/graphics team that they could just have spend a bit of time tweaking already existing animations if not now then in 2.0.

Also according to letters etc graphical improvements and animation tweaks are ongoing so it seems SE do care about how things look (they aren't just completely ignoring it because it 'isn't worth their time')

Well, I wouldve taken OP post seriously, but to respond to a poster and saying that "Seems like they have time on their hands, with the number one thing on yoshida's letter being female's breast sizes. " seems like they have no idea what is really going on as far as the dev team goes, or what their priorites are. Not that I know personally, but I must say after reading the forums everyday and hearing people make ridiculous requests over and over, I just had to say something :P

Yoshi and team should be praised for the work they are doing to the game, to even consider that the only thing hes concerned about is females breast sizes....I felt what was said was disrespectful and ignorant to the situation at hand.

Yeah kinda. Was also funny though even if it wasn't intended to be funny. I was just kind of imagining the guy trying to pitch adjustable breast sizes.

Since it's been brought up, let's explore it.

How many pieces of armor will be redesigned with a few different skins because of different breast sizes, ya think? Or is that something that doesn't take different armor skins. I remember a while back someone was saying they couldn't make low durability armor look "banged up" because they would have to make several different animations for different stages of armor disrepair.

Seems like it would take more effort to make different skins for a bunch of armor than it would to just change one animation of a job change.

Also, do you think people should be kicked from party for their breast sizes? Thanks.

Uh that's being designed for 2.0 since they want to give us more choice for character generation (extra races, genders of races, adjustable tail size, prolly a ton of other stuff). It isn't an either or thing, they should do both.

There's no logic to your last statement. Unless bigger breasts carry a stat bonus you're safe.

Seen some of the other threads out there lately?? New idle motions?? SE is actually responding back to that thread theyre saying we like the idea and we'll look into it.

Sure "They have better things to do" but that doesn't mean they close out every idea that pops up on the forum.

No, you're not the only one.. and it's a matter of overall proportions, not the size of a particular body part.

@OP: It's not that critical to me. They might redesign the animations for 2.0 anyway, but it's rather unlikely. It's a short animation anyway.

Most hyur females have the same face, because it gave them the biggest bust. The separation of breast size and face is mucho importante for individuality amongst the hyur women.

Bigger female breast size will never bored me. :D

But, as for animation, even if they make a new one, it'll get boring one day or another, and as my macro switch gear is with /job on, i barely see it... so i don't really care, animation is fine, lets the dev's team focus on breast size please, it's more important.

I still remember when I realized that changing your face changed your breast size. lol

It flew so much in the face of the old "Hey, my face is up here!"

That video is so confusing. Did I actually play that game? wtf was wrong with me?

Anyway, this thread ended up in a strange place because people focused on something I said in jest (although was truthful, for breast size was the number one thing on that list).

I guess my point is that the bard team got creative and whichever teams working on the other jobs just wanted to move on to something else quickly. I'm trying to say the job switch animations are extremely detailed for some jobs and completely ignored for others. It's strange.

Just be glad it doesn't lock you in place!

Joking aside, I totally agree with ya. Nothing overly dramatic but give us a little fanfare (graphic or otherwise) or something. Even a special /emote pose for each class that only triggers when you arm the job stone.
