Roughly 2 weeks until 1.22 not counting any possibly delays.
Info should show up soon. Hopefully.
I want to know too. xD
I wanna bet Monday-Tuesday of patch week. I noticed SE tends to announce the small stuff first and then let us know the big stuff right before the patch.
Seriously. It seems like I've been waiting for hamlet defense for ages now.
Well...according to their timeline it says 1.22 = Mid April. Soo that would be next week..anything later is considered end! So yeah hopefully we get to see some cool info on this soon :)
I have no idea what to expect from it to be honest, so I'm keeping my expectations crazy low.
I too would like some info, but I can wait :)
What we know for sure is very, very little. What many have speculated is huge.
I'm really hoping it will be cool and fun but trying not to assume what it is going to be and then be disappointed.
This is the PVP content correct?
It will be large scale battles defending the small towns (aka Hamlets) and it will involve all classes including DoL and DoH. Sounds fun!
Bla.
Well then I hope there are rewards other than exp.
wow 1.22 is gonna be the eve of the final patch already.
Yea I asked this in the company sub forum last week, haven't had any response.
I'm guessing we may get some more info next week when Yoshi-p makes his producer letter, failing that the patch is fairly close now so not long to wait.
I would like to see DoH supporting NPC's by fixing and repairing their armour and weapons.
Gathering classes supplying provisions to the grand company and hamlet.
In the last letter (which is newer) Yoshi wrote end april
Quote:
As for the all-important release date for 1.22, we’re aiming to have it go live at the end of April, ahead of the holiday period in Japan known as Golden Week. The whole team is running full tilt to meet this objective.
Hamlet defense was suppose to be out in march last year.
this is what i thought but theres a interview that yoshi said that reason they don't want to do ishgard endgame is cause servers can't handle 40people in same area and that they are waiting for 2.0 to do this. that tells me that hamlets aren't going to be large scale. ...sounds like it's an extension to lousy caravan quests. but i could be wrong. 2 weeks i guess till we find out for sure. even then maybe at 2.0 they will add new ones that are open world with large scale if not this batch.
ff11 handled 64man dynamisis just fine. also campaign battles in ffxi were open world too. only thing i really laged on and i was on a ps2 was campaign battles after one patch when they were all mainly done in the 3 cities but after that it stoped again. if they talking about having 40people events being pushed till 2.0 then i think it is safe to say that hamlets can't be open large scale events. but we do have strongholds and they are open world. i bet they will try to make it like caravans and separate who can do them and where so the numbers are watered down.
either way these are all just thoughts in head, i'm still looking forward to seeing it in action. i'm probably wrong either way lol. here's to good times hopefully in hamlets though, god knows i only did caravans twice and said screw this crap. and i always hated behest since day one. ( i didn't even really do the city besiege in ffxi, even though it was popular it was more for the lazy who took the free exp as good exp and i was always out doing things with better progression, still fun though ..to a point, guess rewards are another thing to see)
I'm not saying you couldn't do 64 man content, FF11's graphics engine couldn't display more than 40 people/NPC's on screen at once.
I'm not sure if there was a registry hack to get around it or not though.
My point was though that you can still have large scale content with these limiting factors, its not ideal of course.
If Hamlet defence is glorified chocobo escort then they missed a golden opportunity once again.
