More bladed guns, and definitely more gunned blades.
Personally I want to see a sword with a gun on it.
Literally just a shotgun duct-taped onto a sword. With a sniper scope. And two foregrips.
Honestly I'd like to see a few more smaller gunblades added. Because most of them are jumbo sized, I still use the starter gunblade. The bigger they get, the less lethal they look because of how clumsily heavy they appear and most of the gunblades are comically big for a one-handed weapon.

I'd like some more variety, like Trial Gunblades for pre-Shadowbringers content. Shinryu's Ephemeral is the only one there is, and it's dece but not much to write home about. I'd kill for a Tsukuyomi's Moonlit Gunblade.
Crafted primal weapons, for the love of the Twelve.
My problem with a lot of tank weapons. As a WAR main I am not really a big fan of oversized axes. I 100% think they should be in the game, because some people like that, and it's awesome, but when it comes to something smaller almost all of them are a scant selection from ARR. Almost everything after that is HUGE. I want more things that are smaller or more pretty. I likewise often use the most basic gunblade because a lot of the other choices look like clubs.
More clubs to match 5.01 sfx changes.
The real question is what gunblades won't be added to the game
More like the Nabaath one would be nice or the one from Bardam's Mettle
Shotgun Axe?
Gunbastards, like Regula van Hydrus's during the Warring Triad quests.

I'd also be shocked if we don't eventually get a standard Garlean gunblade, if only a statless one for glamour.
I think that may be where the disconnect is. People have become so accustomed to the Garlean gunblades in the game. But the gunblades we actually have work the same as FF8's. And with that most of them are also bigger gunblades as well. All of Squalls gunblades bar Revolver and Shear Trigger, were quite beefy. Then Seifers was a much more skinnier blade as well in the form of Hyperion
I will say I'm all for it, if they do add the Garlean gunblades at some point. A gunblade is a gunblade, the more the merrier.
Been farming A10s a bit recently, and Lamebrix Strikebocks's gundragonbladething would be an amazing gunblade. Put it in the gold saucer like most of the other monster-used weapons and there you go.
Part of the problem with weapon sizes is that they don't always scale well to match your character. The starter gunblade looks decently sized on a normal sized character... but on a Roegadyn or Hrothgar it's like a toothpick. Personally I don't think any are oversized, though some other weapons are (lookin' at you, NIN relics!).
I don't have a problem with them being added, but Garlean gunblades and Hrothgar gunblades are very different lorewise. The former is a "realistic" weapon (sword with gun bolted on or vice versa) while the latter is pure VIII fanservice (sword that can superheat itself to increase cutting power via triggered cartridges); they simply cannot be used the same way. (I imagine they'll add a Garlean gunblade for glamour down the line anyway lore be damned, but even so.)
Alright so with all the replies thus far. And people liking the smaller gunblades or the bigger gunblades. If you were the one designing the Tsukuyomi, Suzaku, and Seiryu gunblades (if they even exist.) How would you do them? What would be your "perfect" realization of each.
I would go for a Ravana version, personally, but putting that aside....I prefer longer weapons. Not necessarily huge, hulking blades (we have DRK for that), but an actual full-length longsword style.
Also, maybe an oddly specific complaint, but I can't stand the weapons that fold up. They just don't make sense to me. Keep it as one piece.
Given the heavy use of the Fenghuang in that live-action Mulan movie, maybe something with a thin blade with a glowing gold inscription and a red handle inspired by the movie prop for Suzaku.

Some gunblades with sleeker, simpler designs would be good. The real reason a lot of people prefer Garlean gunblades is just because they're more toned-down from a lot of other ones we get, while also being both non-bulky but still of good length. I mean look at a lot of others we have, many have like 90% great design but then one thing makes it look like too much. The WoL gunblade comes to mind here, you know what the issue is without me even saying it. Admittedly MCH has it even worse here, so many are like "cool gun that someone nailed some weird thing on to".
The bigger issue with GNB are the freaking baseball bat sound effects and the unga basic run.
Just give me Red Queen from the DMC series.
Made longer to be more prominent along side other weapons the FFVIII Lionheart would look great.

Oh yeah I want OG Lionheart more than anything I think. I've done some theorizing with my friends, and it kind of would make sense *maybe* to have it maybe for the GNB weapon for the last tier of Eden. Whether we fight Ultimecia or another form of Eden or whatever. The finally of the raid tier, based around the most powerful GF from VIII dropping Squalls most powerful weapon makes sense to me.
Edit: It's actually funny, because I used that same Lionheart image in another thread a few days ago!!!
I’m fine with the longer ones and the beefier ones. The short ones look absolutely awful on a Hrothgar, but the Crystarium one looks pretty good because it’s a longsword.
Do they have ones that can shoot farther than 3y?
Technically none of the GNB gunblades shoot bullets. You’re loading them with cartridges full of aether and most of the gunblades don’t even have a barrel for a bullet to come out of. GNB’s ranged attack is just slinging lightning at them enemy, not an actual gunshot.
