New Dungeon Mode: Journey/Photo mode

FF14 has become its own platform for arists to live out their creativity on.

Gposing has certainly become one of them, so it always has bothered me that we have so many beautifully designed dungeons but its difficult to use them properly for Gposing, unless you are extremely overleveled or got a couple of hands to help you on newer dungeons.

So similar to dungeon mode like "Undersized Party" I would suggest "Journey Mode" which is specifically for making photos or ideally and slowly exploring the dungeon in detail, without time pressure or the threat of monsters killing you.
So what would this mode do?:

*Removes Party Limit: 1-8 players may enter the dungeon.
*NO REWARDS (no chests or anything either)
*No Timelimit
*Acess to a special command bar:
-Toggle Skill: Invincibility players (players can't be damaged/killed)
-Toggle Skill:Invincibility Monsters (monsters can't be damaged/killed)
-Toggle Skill: Monster Aggro (Turn off Monster Reaction to player)
-Skill: Kill selected Mob. (Mob dies, can be frozen in death animation)
-Skill: Freeze selected Mob (As in, they do not move much like in Gpose, since you can't freeze them there)
-Reset Area: Will revive monsters/mechanics in that room (?)

If Gpose could generally effect Monsters in this mode, that would be great, else I would make do with those tools above.
This mode is entirely meant for simply fooling around there on Gposing, and exploring, reading datalogs, art, RP etc. The monster commands are there if you want for some reason use the monsters available for your Gpose aswell. I can imagine epic pictures that way.
Requirement would be of course to have beaten the dungeon before.
Mayhaps all areas that are usually locked behind killing certain enemies could be unlocked as well.

YES this!!! i always wanted to explore dungeons just for seeing the scenery, taking screenshots, reading lore ect...i would LOVE this ♥

All those reasons are quite valid.

Lately I have been going back to the low level dungeons and enjoying them solo, reading the lore, looking at the cutscenes I had to skip in party, taking photos, and exploring every nook and cranny. This great idea would allow the same enjoyment to be done at level too.

Maybe as a restriction/gate require that the dungeon is run properly at least once. That would stop spoilers before their time.

I mean... I don't see an issue with this, but when I've wanted to take screenshots in dungeons, etc. I just go through and kill stuff, then go back to the spot and gpose. It's generally not that big of a hassle. I recognize this wouldn't address the "monsters in gpose" thing, but... idk.

No lmao that is such a waste or resources and time when they could be putting that into actual content

You can do this after you run a dungeon now. Whatever time you have left in the instance upon completion is how long you can stay inside it. They no longer boot you out after 5-10m if you're actively moving around, gposing or the like. So this is something that is already possible to an extent.

Sure, but you can't take screenshots of enemies then. I think the idea here is that they could pose in front of bosses/mobs.

Yop posing infront of bosses and mobs is an idea too.

Another is that I want to see you run a dungeon by yourself. Even with 70 dungeons unsynced you'd be hard-pressed sometimes to do so. Espically in a reasonable time.

The Dark Ghmylit I have been trying to run and capture with some screenshots, but is near impossible on your own and some of the more "Bigger scenes" only last a few moments. you won't be able to take your sweettime posing there before the epicnes sof the battlefield make place for an empty barren land with weapons scattered around.


Backtracking after having done the dungeon already, is in many dungeon not really possible and if you do it with randoms you sure as hell get flamed to death for not speed running.

Hit "Return" and start from the beginning?
I don't remember any dungeon that blocks your way forward in any way.

its not the dungeons more the players that hard pressure you, but I forgot about return, it still isn't solving all of the other things that would be really nice to have with this.

having the dungeons WITH the mobs and all the stuff without time pressure/bigger parties would be really neat for Gposing and I doubt its that much work either.

Raids too. Like the Royal City of Rabanastre. That one was so cool. But you don't have time to explore. =/

It's a great idea, though I believe due to technical reasons timer should probably still be enabled (you are taking a single instanced space for this and could potentially not allow others to do it themselves).

Congratulations! We got this! (I actually thought of this thread immediately) I'm so excited!

Picture if the new feature also include interact points to summon 1 hp versions of the monster that you could pose with. And not just the trainign dummy.

So about that journey mode

I wonder if it will let me take photos in the boss room in Dusk Vigil before the boss spawns in and smashes the statues...

I would gladly hear more from you about these motivations, i mean, i don't feel like there's much to explore in the way ffxiv dungeon are designed since there's only one direction to go... Even tho, i have to admit that sometimes i stay after all my party members have leaved, to take a few screenshot, but i would love to discuss about all the potential you see with this feature.

Also i always hoped for more complex, wider dungeon to happen in this game, it could fit well with this feature
