I think Dev should address the situation of Run seller atm

As I'm playing in Tonberry of Elemental.
I'm quite surprised with the image of PF full of run sellers (In many content not only Ultimate)
There're some run seller here too, but the this approaching is kinda too bold.
I'd feel really annoy if PF is full of run seller ads instead of real party finder.
I hope to raise the awareness and make the dev side takes action on this.

I belive RMT, Farming, Power-leveling is against the Rules & Policies due to License Limitation on article 2.2 no matter it's compensated by real money or in-game currency/items.

The fundamental reason they won't do anything about it is because there's no proof of RMT being involved.

Though I honestly find it silly they're willing to reference outside sources like Twitter and Twitch to ban people but can't be bothered to look further into content selling by perhaps trying to contact the sellers in question on Discord to determine their prices.

If you're being compensated for clearing content for a person in-game with in-game currency, that isn't RMT explicitly. If people can't spend the time in learning parties working toward a clear in PF or are unable to put together a static group to do the same I don't really see an issue with them turning to mercenaries to clear the content if they have the gil to spend.

May as well just give them their own PF tab at this rate.

Like one of the other replies said, if it's being sold for gil, it's not technically against tos.

SE should do what Jagex does with their firecapes/inferno clears and check the integrity of the clear.

I personally have no issues with someone buying a clear for gil. -shrug- if they have that amount of gil to spend and they wanna buy a clear for the gil, why have an issue with it? It isn't against TOS in that case, and it isn't anyone's business but the buyer's and seller's. As long as they aren't giving out their account data to be autopiloted or using it for World's First bragging rights, it isn't hurting anyone.

RMT aside it's just as annoying as other people using PF to advertise their cesspool FCs, crafters LF work, and other services that aren't actually the content it's being categorized. If you wanna do that then stop polluting the expert roulette pf

If things are being sold for gil then there is nothing that they could, or should, do in response. If real money is involved then yeah, some sort of punishment is probably in order. However, SE is really weird about using outside sources to determine guilt. So...yeah, good luck with that.

I think there may be concerns that it encourages people to buy gil, because the sellers charge so much. I imagine people that would pay for a clear are the same kind of people that would buy gil. I'm not really knowledgeable on this subject, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.

"Cheapens the experience" is a matter of opinion, though. I mean, granted, I don't do high end content synced generally [I do exes unsynced an expansion later for the mounts, mostly because I don't feel like dealing with PUGS and PUGGING for mount farms tends to be an exercise in frustration] but I kinda shrug at it. I mean, as long as they aren't out bragging about the clear, no one knows but them or the seller anyway. Now, them clogging up pf, I can kinda see that being an irritant.

They look at twitter and the like when people directly link their account with their public-facing social media, and do things Squeenix thinks makes Squeenix look bad to outsiders.

Its also probably a huge overreach just doing that.

Outsiders arent seeing party finder advertisements.

Selling for Gil is allowed. Selling for real money is "allowed" as long as specifics are kept out of the game. Blacklisting the advertisers will hide their listings from your PF. Devs are well aware of what's going on, but money comes before principles.

becuase there is never any reason to use Gil nor would somone go through effort doing stuff like Ultimate for gil.

Exactly.

Out of curiosity after seeing so many listed in the PF, I went snooping around the internet and found a lot of sites where people sell clears for Savage, Ultimate, recent EXs, etc., and lemme tell ya. None of those were for gil. And they were not cheap, either. You gotta really want a flashy weapon to pay like 10x the cost of the game to get one. Oh, and they weren't carries, either. Full on account sharing. Double whammy.

Though honestly, the fact that it's so easy to find sites like that, even ones that sell accounts, it sucks that SE probably doesn't have the resources for a sting operation. They could really gut these people's business by baiting them out.

They don't need proof. Just flat out say it's not allowed. If anything ban the use of party finder as an advertisement tool for it.

You and I both know this isn't 2.0 anymore. There isn't a single person that is selling high end content for gil.

Every single one of them is selling for cash up to several hundred dollars, and they should be thrown in GM jail just for being dumb enough to put it there. And throw away the key too while they're at it.

There are already at least 2 other threads about this topic but with slightly different titles in the most recent threads on this very forum - another one is not needed.

Just to put my viewpoint in here I think that SE needs to simply remove the free format text from the party/duty finder totally and enhance the finder with additional checkboxes that can be used for content specific details (like the phase/turn etc.). Yes it would take SE a lot of time and effort but it would totally eliminate the walls of text which can be used for even house selling and instead may result in the party/duty finder being much more useful.

That said though - never going to happen.

Doesn't mean the community/players have to accept or tolerate this.
In WoW the party finder and trade chat are swamped with advertisements for runs, and its just unfun and frustrating to see them pop up by the dozen in minutes.
