Request: Make old maps scale to end game level

I've been thinking about this for a while but it would be nice if all the old maps from Heavensward and Stormsblood were now at level 80.

A lot of those items are kind of hard to come by these days thanks to no one really wanting to do it. It would also just be nice to go around everywhere in the world for treasure hunting rather then just current expansion zones.

Only problem I would see are the A realm reborn ones because the rewards weren't the greatest from what I remember and they never had portals since that started in Heavensward. Maybe they could make it that the maps meant for one person stays at that level while the maps needing parties scales to 80.

I'd be down for this.

At first i thought you meant overworld zones and was all "NOOOO"

But treasure maps? Yes please.

What if parties don't own the latest expansion, or only half the party does, how would the maps scale then? If it's a fixed lvl 80, could seem a little unfair to those who don't reach the requirement.

Just add new maps for lvl 80 to the zone and keep the lvl 60 ones. Should not be that hard to hit a button to scale up to the mobs and modify a drop table for the lvl 80 ones.

or at least remove the sync from them so you could solo em - and let blue enter.

Not sure how raising the level for the maps without changing the rewards would entice any one into doing them. If anything, it would make them even more unpopular because you need to put even more effort into them but for the same old rewards. The maps are fine and should stay low level so people can just solo them for the old rewards same as they unsync old dungeons. It's the Aquapolis and Canals that desperately need to be unsync-able so they can be solo'd. They're old old old content and no one is wasting their map quota on them when there are ShB maps and dungeons. I'm honestly amazed they still haven't added that option to at least Aquapolis by now. Not unsyncing Deep Dungeon? Yeah I can sort of understand that, but there is nothing game-breaking about allowing people to solo Aquapolis when they can already solo the map that leads to it.

Because the old maps still have rare drops, and they aren't included anywhere else.

Is it just me, or do the old maps spawn portals less often?
I wasn't around to do them when they were new, so I'm asking both about if they were nerfed or if the newer ones just spawn portals more.

Its all RNG. I've gone a whole night without seeing one of the new portals, and gotten 5 in a row on the old maps.

I would prefer this to be honest. Although map scaling and or challenge conditions to increase reward % could be a nice option in addition to this (min ilvl sync and such).

But on a pick one and only one situation I'd prefer the unsync option (and might as well let blue enter).

I think if the scaling comes out then it should also be unsync, such that you scale for increased drop rates and you unsync for the same drop / portal rates- my concern though is those who own up to that and not later than that expansion and can't sync up because of their level cap would probably feel left out of content that 'was' for them (as other players would be like 'why would I sync down to you when you can sync up to me'). So there's that as a concern lol. Perhaps allowing trusts / squadrons to go into them, once you can unsync / scale then your NPC can back you up as well (for no added bonus, but so you can do the content, kind of... since squadrons are a bit silly, even if you cant unsync it / sync up to other players).

There's no need for it when max level players are free to do those maps if they wanted to.

My FC alternates between maps for our map parties, partially because some of those old HW/SB drops are so rare and valuable.

Increasing the level on those maps would remove content from players who aren't max level while not adding anything new for players who are max level.

Edit: guess I should add that the old maps do give some decent XP for lower level jobs. When we run the map parties, some members will use jobs they're leveling for the XP. It also lets us include new players who are leveling up their first jobs. Making all 8-player maps max level would force us to exclude them.
