It would be cool to have group content for less than 4 people

After doing some older duties unsynced with just two people that still require doing some of the mechanics, it made me wish there was more content targeted towards pairs of people or something similar.

There's been seasonal events, like that one Valentione's Day thing, but there hasn't been any actual combat duties like that.

Having just two people to do the fight makes for a different dynamic, and really alters how responsibility is placed on each person.

I know it could be difficult to balance because there would only be two people while there's three different roles, but I feel like it would make for some interesting side content.

I'd be into this. Going through HoH as a duo while chatting on discord is like the one way I've been able to stomach it.

I think it could make for some cool sort of puzzle situations too like "do we need a tank or healer" or "which jobs are best suited to whatever instance"

2 friends and I were doing coil stuff a while back, that was also cool. 3manning the fight for the Domitrix title was interesting, lots of trial and error.

100% got my support for the idea. There's lots of couples in the game who'd probably enjoy just doing something on their own without worrying about other people in a group.

Blue Mage was supposed to be solo job, but Yoshi P fooled us once again.

Actually farmed up most of my BLU spells as a duo. Taking in turns as the BLU when it required unsyncing as a level 70/80.

If they could implement interesting content for duos, I'd be down for that.

I would love this. I recall WoW did something like this (I cannot remember what it was called). Dungeon groups there are 5 man, and there was for a time special dungeons that were only 3 man. I actually enjoyed these quite a lot and I was disappointed when Blizzard decided to discontinue this sort of content. Perhaps they have since done more with it, I don't know. But point being it was something I liked, and I would love if SE introduced something similar to the game for smaller groups.

Trusts should be updated to accommodate 2-3 players party (2 players + 2 trusts, or 3 players + 1 trust). It's possible in FFXI.

I'd prefer if they implemented content-scaling with amount of players attending.

It's what I dislike about the raid-statics. If - say - a friend joined your fc but you can't invite him to your static, because it's already full, you then have to either exclude him or join another static . It'd be another thing if there wasn't a penalty for joining a raid, when you've completed it already this week... Although being in two statics could be much.
That's what I liked about the WoW-raids. Got a friend? Great, let him join! Member doesn't have time this week? No problem, since it scales you don't need to find randoms.
Yes, this example was about the raid with much more players than the thread is about. But I needed an example.

The point is: I'd much more prefer that the content would scale with the number of players participating, than it being fixed for a specific amount of players.

They have island expeditions in the current expansion that are 3 man v AI or 3v3 pvp while still trying to collected the most resources.

They had scenarios that were 3 man in Mists of Pandaria.

Would be cool. Solo duty AI has only improved which is basically 2 man content. Just add player.

And I agree it should be side content only.

Same! :D Also we run stuff with my husband sometimes, too. Although running old stuff unsynced also meets this requirement, it's not the challenge it should be and it would be nice to have more recent content adaptable to smaller groups (or, perish the thought, all the dungeon content in the game).

They could take what they have for the Masked Carnivale, but make it low man content, and fill in vacant slots with Squadron/Trusts

Like the Colosseum from FF7/FF7R where it's basically floors of mini boss fights until the main boss. So you have that option to run with friends or with Ai. If they really wanted to, they could add a "Chaos" mode where you could get gear that rivals Savage in item level once a week, but the challenge would be ramped up.

They did showcase for the Bozja content you can go 1v1 in a Savage/Ultimate style fight against a large enemy... could be a testing ground for content by seeing how well it's received.
