Although it would seem that everything unfolded according to script, upon speaking with event organizers, The Raven learned that something came to pass that exceeded the bounds of improvisation.

In preparation for the event, Jihli Aliapoh and her fellow Dreamers had ordered a large shipment of dodo eggs from the Near Eastern city-state of Radz-at-Han. According to the merchant charged with fulfilling the delivery, however, mixed amongst the eggs were ones that resembled those of no cloudkin he knew. In the course of the festivities, word spread of these unusual specimens, and those folk fortunate enough to come into possession of one went to great pains to see it safely stored. Alas, it was to no avail, for when dawn arrived on the final day of Hatching-tide, naught were left of these eggs but broken shells.

I was thinking the SAME thing.

Was there actually anything to see, or did all of the balloons and such simply vanish. With the delays after the merge, I lost track of the time the event was due to end and consequently missed it.

I also notice a little beetle riding the turtle. The beetle looks like ones from Altepa Desert in FFXI. Also above them both is a little pink bird like the Colibri in FFXI.

The beetle is the same we already have in FFXIV, it is missing the giant pincers the XI ones had.

I wonder if we see them again as mobs at one point, it would be a very creative way to introduce a new species ^~^

That's right! I forgot about the pinchers, been a while since I last played FFXI ^^;

So there is also flamingo/colribi atop said artwork. What does it all mean! Nothing much methinks.

That event would have been a lot cooler if the eggs would have actually hatched in game at Easter, instead of having to read about it on Lodestone. It was a missed chance :(

TURTLE MOUNTS !!!

Personally I would prefer another rather than turtles. Too much similarity to the mounts in Rift. Generally things different to the normal creatures seen in the game.

Rift'y turtle was scary...2 heads, nah that dont go in my book.
WoW turtle was ok, atleast in water.
Insanly huge Genbu mount....lol sure!

It's mentioned in some quests in game already. Off the top of my head, there is a quest in Limsa Lominsa by the ferry docks about it.
