Where do you wanna go when this is all over?

Title somewhat sais it all.

We know that they are wrapping up the ascians story line eventually. I think according to reddit 6.0 maybe 7.0. So with its wrapped up and us level 99/100 and them not pulling a wow and doing 110+, we will continue to get gear and ilvl (I am thinking FF 11).

But assume they don't stop with the expansions. I mean why would they? What new story lines would you like to see? Where could we go? To the moon and back? Or maybe more on "earth", distant lands never before seen, old familiar places from long ago. Maybe we could continue to explore ivalice, in less of a raid form. Technically they put in our world. We could explore other shards.

What would you like to do when the last ascian is dead and the credits roll? Where would you like to go?

Isn't there more continents in the world? why go somewhere else?

Meracydia still hasn't been explored.

I kinda wanna more stories about dealing with other villains that either stay relegating to a national level or evolve into the kind of world ending threats that is currently poised by current villains. More self contained stories that cross reference each other, less of a single narrative. Smallmetaplot regarding the Sound that brought forth the original Calamity or the Black Rose future optional.

I'd also want to visit old Sharlayan, Meracydia and maybe a future version of the First or the Source to see how everyone is doing a few decades from now.

Might end up being similar to Heavensward in feel, but I just love high fantasy and I want to learn more about the First Brood (we still haven't even encountered two of them!)

On the list of "places we know exist but haven't been there": there's Old Sharlayan, Thavnair, Meracydia, and the New World (and the isle of Koshu, too, we only ever see Kugane), and there's probably other places we don't even know about in Hydaelin.

I think we're due to visit the Garlean Empire, though. It's still the only place in the Three Great Continents which we KNOW where it is and we've seen a little bit but not nearly enough...

Also, yes, I'd love to have Ivalice as an explorable region... Lea Monde does still canonically exist...

I would love to find a place that still has living Allagans. Would love to learn more about them.

When the Garlemald arch is over I wanna go to Meracydia; after that to the new world. After we finish up Meracydia and the world I would like them to let us explore the unexplored areas of Eorzea. There's a lot of land between the Western, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Thanalan/La Noscea/Black Shroud/Coerthas/Mor dhona/Dravania/Hinterlands/Abalathia/Gyr Abania we have haven't explored.

To the stars where dragons originated plz

I'd like to visit the messed up shards, perhaps work to create outposts - some sort of special magitek needed for whatever reason or an item we need to obtain / find.

Mostly vague answer as I dont really think of areas of game as much as scenes I'd like to see but I hope they can slap us again with some grand concept like with ShB's last zone's special area, and maybe hopefully make it last longer. Enjoyed that very much.

Like in FFIX when you go to Terra. Maybe with lots of effort on the ridiculously picture-esq big nature, like big thick billowing clouds wrapping around a sky temple.

I always enjoy the zones where its like the artists and designers got around the table, passed around some really strong kupo nuts, and then went wild (but not wild in the sense of purely chaotic, just 'out there' and 'extra').

Still thinking of Zeal-like area (Chrono Trigger) being a neat thing to see in this game (a bit like Laputa, from Castle in the Sky or Sky from FFXI), so slap some crazy sunsets, massive beautiful cloud walls, wavering grass, high tech yet fantasy inspired civilization.

Also might suggest if our echo gets any stronger we might be able to play through a zone via multiple time lines, you could get some really big differences in an area and tell it's history uniquely. Being a nice way to demonstrate the growth of our strength, even acting as a potential natural gate to areas (getting stronger to expand your search for something), and also opening up some awesome possibilities depending on how extreme you push it. Perhaps with a mix of creation magic and some Cid magitek you're able to take things through as well as gently interact with things (so you can get item drops etc).

Maybe a huge desert with something lush at the center, I always enjoyed that imagery, like Clerya in FFIX. Maybe a rich high fantasy water city tucked away in a sea of sand.

Pretty excited for whatever though so long as they keep up their attitude with ShB, where they were like 'we pushed the system to the very limits for this zone's vertical'. Yeeeeeee! Or obviously as mentioned before, ShB's final area was a wonderful treat. Keep pushing stuff like that, which is probably why I've no real direct comment and think more in terms of imagery. I'm confident whatever done will be done cool.

To the 13th. We find out there are people living on the void world still and finally figure just how the Ascian screwed up. I want to find out either Xenos is tapping the Lifestream Sephiroth style or starts tapping the void.

New World. Also, the southern islands the lalas are from.

I'd like to explore w/e is left of the other city states/nations of the ancients. Amaurot was the last one hit, but there were others. Find out what caused the scream.

Just me, but I don't like dragons, so Mericydia is not even remotely exciting for me.

But I do want to see Thavnair. It's had probably the most prominent representation in the game while never going there this entire time. We know exactly where it is, we know a bit about what it's like, we've seen its embassy in Kugane, we have clothing and food stuffs inspired by that area... Feels like a place we really should see for ourselves sometime.

To Lalafell Land on the Southern Seas since it's confirmed to be totally not Hawaii.

I'm quite new to the game but have really enjoyed the story and would have loved to have found out more about the Ancient Ones.. I really have enjoyed the Ascian stuff.

No more high tech robot places please..

i really don't have any places i want to go, as long as there is more good story and bosses to fight i am happy, but i am waiting for the whole every shard gets pulled together to be one whole shard again thing to happen so i guess if i had to say i wanna see the other shards/ us to be whole again. also zodiark needs to rise and we need to be able to fight our elder primals.

They never said 6.0 or 7.0 would be the end. They said they had planned expansions and stories up to that point way back when ARR was in development.

I’d like to see us explore more continents and possibly even other shards in future expansions. I loved the concept of the shards in Shadowbringers and would like to see more.

So i mentioned on another thread that one idea for a Mercydian expansion (after Islabard of course) would be one that also involves time travel to go back to it's past before it became a desolate wasteland. This would allow us to witness what it was like there as well as all the critical events, perhaps see the tree people who worshiped Sephirot and face the Allagans proper instead of just what they left behind. Another place i believe Yoshi P. has mentioned wanting to explore in game is the New World, this i imagine would be perfect for the season 2 story so to speak. Finally they could possibly just introduce a bunch of areas throughout the world that we never got to explore properly like the Isle of Hingashi proper. perhaps this last one of locations all over the world could be used for the final expansion.

From what I remember Meracydia isn't a wasteland; wasteland indicates that there's no life to it, but that's far from the truth, Maracydia has a lot of life left. Its civilizations on the other hand were destroyed so a lot of it might still be in ruins but there's definitely plenty of life in it. Meracydia would be the equivalent of Rak'tika but in a much more grander scale.

Just because there are a ton of new players, doesnt mean FFXIV will now be able to magically retain them all. FFXIV has an absolutely horrible retention rate. Which is why they rely so heavily on the Mogstation, and 7 years later are still Reborn-ing A Realm Reborn, and revamping classes/jobs every other expansion. (Even after driving that home with facts, I know someone is going to disagree with me.)

But all that aside, I would like to go to a place where the open world mobs are strong and fight back. All of Eorzea and The first, the mobs just wait to die. They dont fight back. So I would like to go to a place where they give good EXP, and have a will to live, to me that would be very exciting. Or just anyplace that is engaging and thrilling, instead of trivial and empty.

EVE Online.

After zodiark/hydaelyn, we're going to go on a quest to discover and destroy the thing that threatened the ancients to begin with. In the process, we're going to learn more details about the life of Azem and what she was doing prior to the sundering and we'll probably get some more powerups in the process. It'll turn out that Fandaniel is possessed by that thing but we won't learn that until after we resolve the hydaelyn/zodiark/ arc when we discover that the thing was using Fandaniel to manipulate Zenos into doing its bidding.

That's my completely baseless speculation anyway.

This is basically what Heavensward did, even though the Ascians were still involved with that. But the initial cause of the conflict was humans being humans (or more specifically, elezen.) Thordan only turned to Ascian involvement because he wanted to keep the secret and eventually wipe them out. Basically what Gaius and Varis wanted to do.

But the actual story of the Dragonsong War was pretty self-contained and focused on the story of the people of Ishgard, the Dravanians, and their struggles. And it's considered the best, or second best, expansion out of them all.
