Connecting showing as "Poor" on Character Login Screen more often since 5.3?

I've been noticing lately since 5.3 my connection status is showing up as "Poor"on the character login screen yet my internet speeds are running at pretty much max with no issues. Even though it is showing "Poor" the game runs smooth and I am noticing anything different except for longer load times into Eulmore/Limsa and more character pop-in than usual.

Is this due to just everyone back in action due to the patch? I've seen the connection fluctuate between Good/Excellent but I've never had it show up as Poor before.

my net connection speed is fine and the game is fine, is that a bug?

Edit to add: thought the problem was with my WiFi, so I changed to wire connection, still shows poor connection!

Same problem and the worst is that many people have disconnected in Wol EX + to the point that I have not yet been able to get the Kill of E8S this week because in all the parties someone ends up disconnecting.

It must be some sort of a bug because I have NEVER seen the Poor status before and my internet speeds stay pretty constant.

Yeah, my connection is also marked as "Poor", but without any issues.

Yeah its happened here too. I connect to adamantoise from the uk, a na server so i got a pond to cross. Never get anything other than excellent most of the time (though good has happened on occasion when i had net issues)

but since 5.3, its been stuck on poor

I suspect it's due to a lot more players being around than usual. There seems to be more strain on the servers as a result.

It only shows this on PC (Steam version), at least for me. My connection on my PS4 reads as excellent 99% of the time, with that 1% being good. Despite showing my connection as poor on PC though it functions just like should so maybe it's a display bug? I don't know. It's weird.

Still shows poor for me, but why is this thread being buried, is this happening with only few people?

Yep, today I got a "Poor" on login on PS4 but everything was running fine (becides the usual lag in the really populated areas/areas when people are grinding fates). I usually see only Excellent or Good.

I've been having more lag than usual for the past week, but its shown my connection as 'excellent' until today when it now says 'poor'. I rarely get lag, but now it's fairly regular, and enough to cause problems in combat.

I only noticed that it said it was poor because I was in the process of backing up my character and client data to do a full reinstall, hoping to fix it. I've already changed router settings and a number of other things. I've never had lag during big patches before, not even right when ShB went live. Clearly it's more than just a UI bug.
