While Parsimony does reduce how much MP is used after casting, it does not reduce the cost before casting.

Lets say you have a spell that costs 500 MP. And you only have 250 left.
Casting the spell would only cost 250 MP, but you are unable to cast it unless you have 500 MP left.

I hereby request for this to be changed so that Parsimony reduces spell cost before casting.

Like this if you'd like to see this.

Wouldn't the easier answer be to reduce the MP cost of Parsimony to 250..?

There is already a thread or two for this same thing. I'm sure devs are aware of it

Parsimony is a job ability, requires no MP. It reduces the cost of your next spell.

Better even, have Parsimony reduce next spell's cost to 0 and refund a flat number of MP which will scale with stats (Int or maybe Pie). Proper MP managing as it will not be heavily penalized on tough bosses where the damage plumets. Spell being resisted won't penalize it either. At the same time you get an option to use if you are almost out of MP and Convert is on CD (or your health is abysmal along with your MP). Win-Win.

ya which is why SE wont do it. you all know SE HATES mage jobs.

They should combine parsimony with excruciate and give us 1 new skill.

im just bored with the skill set, combine 2 of them and give me drain or stun of something.

If you were to combine them both you would be wasting the Parsimony part on an earlier stage of the combo and limiting the MP effects. I would agree with you if Excr. made the next cast crit instead of just increasing the rate.

i usually buff my thundaga with 4-5 things and i do excuciate first, by the time i hit thundaga it usually(at keast 90%) crits. If i hit it and thundara i get nervous ill get an early crit. But you right make it next action crits plus mp half. Just doing that would allow for one more skill.

I usually only have time to hit Parsimony and do my MCP macro and cast before my combo timer expires. =/

I wanted to let you guys know that the dev. team agree with you guys about the MP requirement for using Parsimony, and although it cannot be fixed in the current system, they said it will definitely be fixed in 2.0!

I might be wrong but I think the AF body makes Excruciate always Crit on your next spell.
