Upgrading Ironworks gear after 5.3

After some study, I figured out how to visit the Calamity Salvager to augment my old Shire and Scaevan gear after the 5.3 update. However, I don't see a place to upgrade my Ironworks gear.

Calamity salvager seems to be missing ironworks entries in his list under "Deal in Spoils".

Was this an oversight, intentionally obtuse or do I just have to buy it all again to get augmented?

Yes. But if you already have an unaugmented piece, then it's trash and you have to pay full price for the augmented one. I can't find an upgrade path as there is with Shire and Scaevan gear.

Patch notes not mentions them aswell, think they overlooked that.

I also found a couple unaugmented Ironworks pieces I would like to upgrade. Where do we ask them to add this?

Did you check the place where you originally upgraded the Ironworks gear? Was off in...North Shroud, I think?

This - the old way of upgrading IronWorks gear is still there: North Shroud NPC by Gerolt who also sells the replica's.

You can still buy the items needed for the upgrade for 100 poetics from Mor Dhona, as well as getting them via the repeatable quest that requires you to do the CT raids.

The items are still buyable? Yet they adjusted them to be sold for 1 gil, not makes sense somehow if they adjusted that but still left it that way also, weird that they left that out, sometimes i question certain decisions and would like to know WHY?

My understanding was you could fork over your unaugmented stuff to a calamity salvager with 100 poetics and he'd take care of it for you.

Your information is out of date. The repeatable quest was removed, and the upgrade items are no longer available for purchase. You are correct that Drake still offers the upgrade, but this may have been yet another oversight of devs forgetting to remove that shop section, seeing as it wasn't in the same zone like the expansions. But sure. If anyone happens to still have un-augmented, and can acquire the upgrade tokens from the remaining raids that may still drop them, then some poetics can be saved.

Visit your local salvager and discover this only applies for Shire and Scaeven gear.

Yikes. I just checked and you are indeed right. You can not buy the upgrade tokens anymore, and while the repeatable quest is still there... it no longer provides the upgrade token/object anymore.

So it seems that anyone with unaugmented Ironworks gear who doesn't also have the appropriate upgrade token/item... will have to either just live with it being unaugmented, or spend the full amount for augmented Ironworks.

My apologies to all for my earlier misleading post :(

There's a chance that Final Coil Turn 4 still has the upgrade item as a reward.

Ya'll act like poetics are hard to obtain and don't rain from the sky.

The devs were pretty clear about what was happening.

You suck it up as a loss, get the few hundred poetics (easily gotten in a day) and buy the piece you want.

I will say this trying to gear up a retainer:

There is a downside to this change and that is that you can't have an unaugmented ring and an augmented ring since they don't sell the unagmented stuff anymore.

Possibly an oversight but the rings need to be un-Unique so you can equip 2 of them.
