Not sure if its a bug or not but I did complete. Trying to complete it again because I got the swords to do it again

Its honestly just like extreme but you can't f up at all. The moment to people start wiping it's taking a lot from the dps. So you can't really die that much. Other than that its a pretty simple fight

Unreal doesn't look like it'll be about the challenge, it's just a way to recycle old content into a fun limited time thing that you do for a glamour item. -

Are you guys talking about when the EX trials were relevant, or when people outgeared them over time?
Shiva EX was reasonable for quite a bit of players compared to other EX trials to Titan, Mog, and Ramuh EX. -

It's just Shiva Ex but the DPS check is relevant. I don't remember the DPS check for Shiva Ex in the past ever really being a big deal. This time I've actually seen enrage... Also I've seen people ask everyone to pick clock positions and then pair up and then not talk about how the ice positions for staff can rotate... It's been meme worthy.
I'd say it's about like doing Shiva Ex with i105 or something along that line. Main issues seem to be people slow to react to bow, healers not healing due to her snowstorm raid wide having no cast bar, just being at scripted timeslot, and people not getting out of the way for the blue arrow knockback. -

I don't know about the rest of you people but whenever I get Garuda EX in a mentor roulette (generally it appears more than the others, possibly because it's the first one to become available and therefore it probably gets more newbie attention), the tanks always manage to colossally screw up the add phase, no matter how much the party tries to instruct them. It certainly ain't no Ramuh EX (where if your tanks don't know the fight and aren't in sync with each other, you might as well go home, because you aren't winning), but it tries to be.
There's been some groups where we only managed to beat it by not giving the tanks a chance to screw up the add phase, and simply having all the DPS go ham on one of the adds and kill it before they gain their "defense+ based on proximity to the other add" buff. That can work when the DPS are i130 and overpower the fight. I don't see it working as well in Unreal. -

Personally I can't wait for Ifrit Unreal with his suppuration tank buster that just happens 4~5 times in a row, and that sweet sweet tether, not too mention all those nails. Like yeah, he was easier than Titan or Garuda ultimately, but not by a lot, and that damage was sick.

It's funny how confused people seem to be about the difficulty of ex fights back in the day... i still remember the outrage on the forums because shiva ex was cleared so fast. It was insane how quick people started solo healing garuda ex and titan ex was just a battle against random lag spikes thanks to datacenters being located in canada.
