Can we have replicas for relics that aren't past steps?

Sorry about the title, I couldn't find a better way to phrase it. Anyway, as an example, I have Xiphias, the second/third to last DRK relic from Eureka (depending on if you count Physeos), but I have no interest in getting the rest because I personally don't like the flashy effects on them, and I only did Eureka at all for that specific model anyway.

But because I haven't gotten the Eureka version, I can't get a replica of Xiphias to put in the glamour dresser. So I have to lug it around for every time I want to glamour it. Same with other past relics, like Armageddon that I use for MCH.

It's not like it affects the actual weapon at all, so why can't we have replicas for the current step we have instead of only previous ones?

"Privilege"? Lol what? I have replicas of previous steps, what difference does it make if I have a replica of the one I have. I already have the weapon itself, I can already glamour it, so why can't I also have the replica? It's a QoL thing, not a 'privilege' or clout thing.

Yeah no. I spent enough time there, and that's not a solution. It doesn't hurt other players if people have access to replicas of their current step in the relic line, so why is your solution "just do it lol" instead of just being okay with it?

It's weird how people on these forums have a hard time just being like "I'm not really all for this idea but it's an interesting one nonetheless" when there's a suggestion brought up. It always has to be refusal.

Yeah no. I spent enough time there, and that's not a solution. It doesn't hurt other players if people have access to replicas of their current step in the relic line, so why is your solution "just do it lol" instead of just being okay with it?

Didn't you just shoot down someone asking for the qol of world visit in Kugane? This seems kind of hypocritical lol.


Its designed so you unlock the previous replica, and get them all once completed. Otherwise, just use the one you have, since you already have it. Probably in place so you don't accidentally throw away work thinking you are getting rid of the replica.

I shot down the reasons people gave of people using world visit to shop, not the idea of adding world visit to other cities at all. Even if it's how you say, I guess two wrongs do make a right, huh? Because I disagreed with a suggestion, no suggestions are allowed? I'll remember that the next time I see a suggestion mentioned. Thanks for the tip.

Its less that you disagreed and more that you immediately asked for something that also hurts no one, while saying no to something that hurts no one.

There's all kinds of things I disagree with, but I don't go making the same requests as the ones I just told someone else no to lol.

Okay clearly you're mistaken about something, because I never "immediately" asked for anything, I think I initially replied to that thread a full day ago, and I don't think replicas are related to world visit. Maybe you should just drop it and stay on topic instead of making yet another innocent thread I made some argument about me. I don't know why everyone insists on that every time. I also don't know why I bother starting any threads when there will always be someone to criticize me and not the actual topic.

The replicas are made available for previous steps because you no longer have them. You still have the current step so there's no reason to provide a replica.

If you don't like keeping it in your Armoury Chest, put it in your chocobo saddlebag. You can access that from even more areas than you can access glamour plates or the glamour dresser.

As you said on the World Visit thread, it isn't necessary therefore we shouldn't add it.

This isn't necessary either, merely being "a QoL thing" as you yourself said and you can easily just finish Eureka. Therefore by your own logic, we shouldn't add this.

More broadly, I just want the ability to bypass the "add to dresser" step and apply something from our inventory directly to a glamour plate.

One of my current WHM glamours uses the current Lv80 relic cane. There is no replica to earn.

Eureka is pretty easy to do though now days. I helped my fiance get through 3/4 of the areas within a week-ish timeframe. And he was at elv7 when we picked it back up from him (Since his comp didn't handle the 144 people size instances well when it was on content). The 'current relic' being what was on content at that point in time. There would have been no reason at all to give you that AND it's statless doppelganger.

Since I know you won't, you should know that I also said that world visit should be in other cities anyway, just that doing it for people using world visit to shop or to reduce crowding is pointless. But I guess that doesn't fit your narrative, does it?

Now, can we get back on topic? Or are you just trying to argue with me instead of actually discuss it.

You're like, right there. Just finish it and get your replica. I am of the opinion, however, that people should have the next step/form unlocked before getting a replica from a prior step though.

I really don't feel like it, actually. Hence the suggestion. And with how little inventory space we have and now big of a deal the glamour system is, they could at least let us put relics in the dresser if they won't let us have replicas of the ones we own.

And not everyone is right there with relics. Sometimes they just want one specific one of any of the relic lines or steps, and they shouldn't have to acquire the next one just to be able to store the one they actually want.

Again, hence the suggestion. Things can be changed, you know. But just remember that "too bad, so sad" mentality the next time you want something added or changed in the game. There's a difference between being disagreed with and having people literally hop from thread to thread and interrogating you about things you said in different ones when they're completely unrelated. And if you had people do that to you constantly, talk down to you whenever you post a new thread, even if it's totally innocent (I got dogpiled once for thanking a GM and posting it in general discussion by accident), and even harass you on other social media platforms because they don't like you (and no, linking to your social media does not give people permission to attack you), you'd get pissed off pretty quickly too. You do what is required, you get your desired reward as the game intended. That's...basically it. I am open to change, but I think the more ideal solution is another one you brought up yourself, and that's for allowing all forms of our relics to be stored in our glamour dressers. Also, to be fair, you post on a public forum, so that leaves yourself open to both be agreed and disagreed with. Judging by this thread alone, there seems to be more lashing out coming from your end of things just because people disagree. That doesn't really set the right mood for civil discussion.

Relic stays 1 item no matter the stage. You going up just a single stage wouldn't take too long. You're forgetting that glamour IS the true endgame. You're not far from finishing your current endgame, it's just one stage left. Otherwise I guess you don't feel like getting something you wanna get.

Doesn't have to be done all at once.... though sooner would be better due to the next patch being right around the corner.

You seem to get defensive when people go into a thread you create and ignore the topic at hand but you are cool with going into other threads and ignoring the topic just to make a quick pointless remark. Though I will say I could get behind this idea, though that is mainly because I am lazy and at times rather not do some grinds. Though I understand the racial behind the current system and do not expect a change to happen. Since it does make sense to lock a replica until you finish the step.. Though I would be happy if your suggestion went through.

Just make it so relics can go into the glamour dresser.

It's such an inconvenience that you can't put them in it. It would be a simple QoL feature. And you could also use the current relics on glamour plates.
If you have two outfits for a job and one of them uses the current relic weapon you have to manually apply it with a glamour prism every time.

It doesn't even make any sense that they can't be put in the glamour dresser. If you want to equip them just take them out again.

It makes sense. Relics, after a certain point anyway, have custom stats and that data is not saved by the glamour dresser (like a crafter signature or spiritbond %). Probably is why we need to repair our gear before adding it to it, so people don't use it for "free" repairs?

True - the block on putting relics in the dresser is probably to prevent the inevitable flood of "you didn't warn me it was going to wipe out all my stats!" complaints.

Still, if that's the logic then perhaps they could at least let us put the low-grade ones in? It would probably technically be fine, but maybe not worth the confusion versus a blanket rule.

I suspect that the reason pretty much lies right here. "If you have the weapon - there's no a reason to have a replica" sounds like the most logical explanation as to why they aren't available to be bought from NPC until you get the next step. Making them available for this souldn't hurt though, so I don't see why it couldn't be done if enough people think that they need it as a feature.

I'm not sure why they decided to do it this way as it doesn't really seem like there are any pros.
Yeah, it's so you can still glam with the thing you no longer have, but, like... why can't I just glam with it when I've unlocked it? It's not like I (or the game) can get those weapons confused.
Hopefully this is a change they'll implement with the way the current relic works?

SE wants you to complete all the relic steps if you want to use ANY of the glamours forever. That's pretty much the reason.

The glamours aren't the reward for each step, the increased power is. Apparently SE deems having any/all of these glamours forever to be valuable enough to require X amount of work; especially for old relics since the glamours are the most valuable aspect of them now.

If for example you get the elemental weapon from Pagos, you can immedeiatly replicate while you still have it. You don't have to wait to be able to do that until you're 1 step further. So not being able to do that with every version shiny or not makes no sense. So I agree with op :D
