Who would be your choices

I was looking at TeraRamis's thread about killing the scions and I thought to myself, if I could choose my own group of scions from any character in the game, but still they'd have to be called the scions then who would it be.

My list would be Thancred, Gauis, Estenien, Cid, Crystal Exarch, Hraesvelgr, Tataru, and Adalberta Sterna from the Miners's Guild.

Gaius, Estinien, Papalymo, Yda (whatever - that's always going to be her name), Raubahn, Edda Blackblossom (has there ever been a character **** on more in an MMORPG than poor Edda? She's earned a redemption arc), Nanamo, revived Agrias.

I'd also like to bring back Ysayle, but if I can only revive one undeniably deceased character, it's Agrias. Or maybe Princess Ovelia... armed with her Delita-stabber.

If nothing else I'd keep Tataru because between Alphinaud spending ridiculous amounts of money and the other proclivities of the Scions I'm pretty sure she's the only reason the organization is still solvent. Gotta have some money to keep things running.

Reorganize the Scions back into their original pre-Calamity form of the Path of the Twelve, including a greater emphasis on secrecy and diplomacy. Seperating the Archons from the organization would also help given they were originally a seperate organization (the Circle of Knowing). But definetely go back to being the Path, and dedicating to researching the Echo and helping those awoken to it, rather than being a "Primal hunting organization" that the Scions tended to have become.

As the amalgamated Path/Circle experiment has not worked and just caused much bloodshed and loss of life.

Maybe Thancred so he can be my Gunbreaker bro. Ideally, I'd be able to keep none of them.

There actually was - it was in the centre of Ul'dah actually, it was located where the Immortal Flames HQ the Hall of Flames is now located, in a building called 'the Merchants' Wards'. But there most definetely was a Waking Sands in 1.0.

I came into this thread just to say this but you said it first.

So instead I'll just say that I could live with benching (not killing off) Y'shtola and Urianger and instead having Cid and Nero, just for the hilarity and hijinks. And every once in a while, Estinien shows up, does something problematic, and disappears again until the next patch.

Urianger can stay. Love his ye old english mannerisms and his tendency to speak eloquently. "We can accept this fate or defy it; but we cannot deny it."

Otherwise Exarch 1,000%. He's one of my favorite NPCs in the whole game.

Then... hmmm: Yugiri, papashan, and E-Sumi-Yan.

My Scions would be: Tataru, Nero, Ardbert, Feo Ul, and Fordola.
Our base would be Omega: Pray return to the Omegascape

Godbert Manderville. That is all.

Hmmm, I guess I could add Tataru into the mix to handle the money because I need Godbert free at all times because primals aren't going to suplex themselves.

Would just implore Kan-E-Senna to let the other Padjali run Gridania, convince her that we need someone with her level of expertise at all times.

Aymeric asked me what I wanted for myself over dinner, and honestly, I want him to go adventuring with me, damn it!

Everybody else I just really like, and I always have. Y'shtola is not on the list, because while I do like her and she is my starting Scion for my very first character, I feel like she should have died off already.

Magnai I would like to get humbled again, and for him to step down from head of his tribe. I'm sure they'd do fine without him after all. I think he'd be a neat character to have his eyes opened. Both him and Sadu a bit. Now that could be a ship I'd unfurl the anchor for!

I'd also connect an Aethereyte to the Jugend Scion's base in the Far East with the Rising Stones, so we could be at one or the other with alacrity.

Forgot about the "Human Suplex Machine". He would be on my list too.

iam actually fine with current scion member, but if i can add several more into scion...

- Gosetsu, i wish he join scion in which also join us in SHB arc, he would play a far better "old man" role for ryne instead of thancred and urianger.

- Sylphie from conjurer quest, i think she would be a welcome addition for scion as their promising healer.

- Estinien obviously, but iam actually okay with his role in shb, he fare better as a lone wolf for now.

- Oboro or Jacke (and his gang) from ninja quest, a proper scout/assassin/info gathering is probably what scion needed after thancred become batman.

- Feo Ul, i wish she stay in WOL head and continue adventuring with us instead of becoming titania, she's so fun.

and if we allow dead people, Haurchefant and Yotsuyu.

- haurchefant, he would be literally the cliche flamboyant gentleman knight of the scion and i will love it!!!

- Yotsuyu, i would be very interested in her quest to redeem her path, joining scion to do good thing should be the natural course for her i think.

Nero tol Scaeva (engineering and can hold an in depth conversation)
Urianger Augerelt (it would not be good enough without his ramblings and schemes)
Y'shtola Rhul (really there to humour Urianger, study, and to help heal)

This seems more like a "who are your favorite characters" thread than a "who could join the Scions" thread. In terms of reasonable choices of who can go, I'd say Y'Shtola, Thancred, Urianger, and maybe Alisaie, as well as the current Scion B team (Boulder and them) are good candidates. As for who can join, I'd say Fordola (already primal-killing with Arenvald anyway), Unukalhai (already in but ignored), possibly Nero, several job NPCs such as X'Rhun, A-Ruhn, or Sid, and possibly a few ancillary characters to fit the direction of the story. For example if the Scions were to get an airship as a base (like in all good FF games), Leofard would make a good captain. Outside of that, more characters with the Echo would be welcome.
