Can we PLEASE get Achievement Mounts for Healers

Tanks get 2 Mounts for every class and Healers get none. And no, I don't count the WHM Pegasus as an Achievement Mount since it only requires you to hit level 30. That's not much of an accomplishment worth celebrating unless you count staying awake while playing a boring job to be mount worthy. We just got the Amaro for that particular milestone in this expansion.

I wanna ride in an over-sized Astrologian Globe that turns it's cards horizontally while airborne to act as a propeller.

I want Lily to pull my wood frame hang glider across the ground with Seraph adding a hand to help me soar through the skies.

I want to find another long lost Pegasus so that they can pull my wooden carriage together. Let the elemental sprites I befriended as a Conjurer lend a hand to help me ascend to the heavens.

Can we get a new tier for the achievement that involves reviving people outside of our party that has a mount attached? I wanna surf on a giant tuft of Phoenix Down.

Just give healers something to make the cringe worthy skill sets we are working with more meaningful. Tanks have a reason to keep doing Roulettes and High End Duties and Healers are just supposed to be there.

Sch: use the ceiling lamp that has both Eos and Selene just add fluttering wings animation

Whm: reskin the witch's broom mount

Ast: reskin ADS mount to look like the globe from the lv80 skill just have a star floating around it etc.

That's a unicorn not a pegasus (the pegasus mount is completely different and has no relation to healers at all).

The reason healers haven't been given achievement mounts as it's usually tanks that are in demand not healers because of the extra responsibility tanks have to play in a party, usually we're the party's leader and dicate the flow of battle, in addition to having to DPS and keep the enemy's focus on us instead of you the healer keeping us and the rest of the party alive. Players thus prefer to queue as other roles (usually DPS) where they can sit back and let someone else take that responsibility.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding narky but if a player really needs to be given a carrot for healing in the form of special mounts, then it's maybe time to choose another career path in the game as that kind of goes against the whole idea of a healer being selfless and putting their party's wellbeing before their own if they need to be given special rewards for doing so (of course, great if recognition for your effort is given, but I don't see it happening).

I'm not particularity fussed about getting another mount I won't use but that's a weird blend of RP and real-life that you're using to reason that out.

The easiness of the content aside - a good healer can carry a bad tank and group (in the relevant FFXIV content). A good tank can facilitate an easier run but ultimately can't compensate for a healing failing their job.

That said, it's other people that make tanking a thankless job - doesn't make it any more responsible than a healer.

Sorry to burst your bubble, both tanks and healers are instant queue so they're both in demand. I actually get healer instant queues more often than tanks (generally 2 to 5 min queues). Healers are in demand especially as of ShB where a lot of healer mains left healing due to how healer gameplay currently works. Tanks as of this expansion only need to hit an enemy with tank stance to maintain aggro. There is no real difference between them and a DPS besides having mitigation and more HP besides them having to hit the enemy first. If anything, both healers and tanks have equal responsibility as both roles have a big impact on the battle. This is especially the case for a healer as heals are a much needed component in order to survive boss fights and large packs of enemies. A dead healer has a higher chance of leading to a wipe because there's no one left to heal the incoming damage, but a dead tank or DPS can be recoverable as long as the healer can ress them.

Finally, tanks are not the party leader that dictates the flow of battle. This is a misconception. If the tank decides to pull lots of enemies, but the DPS decides to use Single Target attacks instead of AoE, then the DPS will end up determining the pacing and flow of battle. If the healer has terrible equipment and can't keep up with the tank's HP, then the healer will be determining the pacing and flow of battle. Everyone has an equal result on determining the flow of battle based on how well they play.

There is no "party leader" unless this is a pre-made group or a PF group because the person who creates the party has the role of the party leader. However, in Duty Finder, the tank is not by default the "party leader". Everyone who joins DF either queues up solo or queues up premade and thus each of them can be considered their own 'leader'. The other definition of a "party leader" is the one who guides and explains everything from mechanics to guiding teammates to where they should move and what the players should do during a certain mechanic. Unless that tank is the one that took an active role to do all these things, they are NOT the party leader. The only reason why a tank would be leading the party is because tanks should be the ones who pick up aggro first - anyone can really guide the party if the tank is absolutely clueless on where to go. However, there's a level of etiquette given to the tank to lead the party first because it makes it easier for them to pick up aggro as most enemies would be running to target who got near them first.

Summary - your exact statement is a perfect exaplme as to why tanks shouldnt be apoiled with a mount.

I feel as if you dont understand the priorities of healers and just how important and in demand they are yeah sure anyone can play a helaer just like anyone can play a tank but to assume healers dont deserve a special mount just because they dont hold the agro is just wrong.

To assume healers have it easy and they are supposed to be selfless is also wrong a healera first priority is their self if they are dead others are dead you cant be a healer and be selfless it just doesnt work. Healers also need to know encounter more so then any tank as they need to pay attention to who is getting hit by what and whats the minimum they can do to heal that player so they dont lose much time doing their own dps because yes healer dps does matter. Also, maybe you havent seen all the "bad" tanks that are out there but not every tank should be spoiled with a mount just because they play the class.

Every class should have its own special achievement mount although the requirements to attain such a mount should differ based on the job type.

Not sure if you should get a carrot for everything. Just make healers more fun to pay, that's better than a mount.

It was likely a very early incentive to get players to pick up the -as of then- only healer job in the game.

Which means there is precedent for incentivising players to play healers via mounts.

I think the current climate has Healers more in demand than Tanks, so it really is about time Healers got some kind of incentive and I don't see why it can't be more mounts.

Unless it's been changed, it's actually specifically CNJ that gets it. If you have your WHM job stone on you can't take on the quest.

This sounds amazing. I honestly don't see any reason for them not to add mounts to healers, or rather to ALL the jobs in fact... But I have a feeling it's likely a time/resource problem as they don't see it as a priority.

In case you're talking seriously and this is not a troll post.

1-Since the start of Shb Healers are even more on demand than tanks, partially because how bad the role is right now and because like as the tanks they're precived by casuals as a "high resposibility" role.

2-Tanks are not leaders nor have extra responsibility, everyone dictates the pace of the battle since everyone has to fill a role, a tank can't do decent pulls without a healer to keep them alive, a healer can't do decent pulls without a tank to take the aggro and both would run out of resources and die if the DPS don't do their job, is the party performance that dictates how the battle goes not a Tank and usually tanks that think they are more important are the kind who say "You pull it you tank it", or in other words, bad tanks.

3-Healer also contribute to DPS and mitgation while keeping the party alive, we are not only limited to do one of those things otherwise we would be bad at our job, in fact I'd say that if we take the flawed "high reposibility" mentality healers would be the ones with the highest since they are the ones who enable the run to go, keep everyone alive and pay for everyone else's mistakes.

4-By your own logic Tanks shoudn't have any mount since by definition they are also a selfless role yet they have them.

If it's a question of resources I don't understand how they had the time to add a fourth Tank with two new mounts on release and redo the entire Tanking Paradigm but healers just had all their skills cut and renamed in the pursuit of Balance? The fact that we haven't got a new healer and only get to use less abilities seems like a reason why mounts would be MORE likely. They have no problem throwing new things for us to buy on MogStation every three months but we can't get a Healer Achievement mount after 6 years? You're telling me Blue Mage was somehow the priority there... I would like them to just say they don't like healers and be done with it. We are obviously last on the list for major overhauls and fine tuning every expansion.

While i do want a healer mount adding it now it's not a good idea, at least in my server there's still lacking of tank and weirdly in extreme there's more healer overflow than dps, so making people play more healer right now is a bad bad idea for queu time.

You can remove the stone and you are CNJ.. I missed this quest but able to take it with stone remove trick. Buy a level 1-29 weapon wear it and remove soul stone it will bring you back to CNJ state

About topic.. I think its best to encourage new tanks.. seems more demanded than healers.. add extra mount to each tank.. and make it 3 total lol :3

There's nothing selfless about healing, I'm just fulfilling a role in the MMO. End of. Healers are just as in demand as tanks are, so by all rights, they should have class mounts.

Back to the topic, I agree healers are also in demand and to be honest on my server right now they're way more in demand than tanks.
Hell, I have a really hard time gettign adventurer in need bonus as tank, and in my FC it's hard sometimes to group cause most want to tank.
So yeah, probably a mount would be a good idea to motivate, although it would kinda sadden me since I mained healer for years and got nothing from it, and just recently quit healing, and the backlog doesn't count. I wouldn't care much if they're mounts as ugly as the tank ones, but the ones proposed here seem absolutely cool.

I would prefer if Healers and DPS got achivements mounts as well and to keep to the theming set by the PVP gear like the Tank ones apprenlty are. In that vein I'd like to see a reskinned direwolk for BLM, Elks for SMN and SCH, Owls for AST, Swans for WHM, etc.

I never even realized the mounts had themes that corresponded to the PVP sets for each Job. That literally blew my mind. I would be head over heels for an Owl Mount, especially since they are heavily associated with Books and Witches. I wouldn't be mad if every Job got a mount either. I'm all for it. It's just weird Tanks are the only ones to get so much love.

It isn't as evident because the mounts are currently exclusive to tanks and also because the PVP gear of those sets don't extent to Stormblood and beyond jobs (something I think should be addressed)

This would definitely be interesting, and I'd love to see where SE would go with such a concept.

On topic: I think class mounts as incentives are awesome. Thus, handing them out to healers, is a very good way to go.
With the doubt concerning tanks may still be even more in need: well, you can always upgrade those tank mounts. I mean make some final extreme achievement thingie, with like 1000 runs and make those mounts somewhat glowy and do some effectwork. Guess people will flock to those tanks like there is no tomorrow.
If that works, add the same for healers and maybe we are in that dream world where hardly anyone waits beyond 5 mins for the majority of content :3

i got the same idea today and i agree with OP and others. not sure about desing of those but it would really help people to actually try out if anything healing jobs and fill queues.

because there is really no reason why tanks get another 2 mounts with Gunbreaker.

This post got necro'd right after I got my Dark Knight mount. It's clearly a sign. We better be surfing on a Tuft of Phoenix Down next expansion.

Mount ideas:
SCH: Eos or Selene carrying you around by your hand.
WHM: Aether wings that you can fly with.
AST: A star or comet

This needs to change imo. As a tank main since 2.0 and dabbling in other job roles, I can easily say that healers have the hardest job in the game. Tanks and DPS only need to deal with the boss and fix their own mistakes. Healers have to deal with the boss and the party members mistakes. Anyone who has had to hard carry a scrub party or join a lvling roulette with a new tank not using cds, knows what I'm talking about. There's a reason why the "healers adjust" meme is strong in the community. Healers need mounts beyond the one unicorn from the CNJ quest. Personally I would like to see the healers as they do deserve it given the amount of bull they have to deal with.

If they really want people to play a healer just put Faerie Wings (SCH), Angel Wings (WHM), Galaxy Wings (AST), Rocket Booster Wings (SAG) mounts as a reward for running 500 lvl 90 extreme, savage and/or duty roulettes.

Scholar mount should be a tonberry

Then dps, gatherers, and crafters better get mounts to.

Crafters and Gatherers do need more incentive to exist. They are in painfully short supply. Im not sure we need to lure more people into playing dps tho. They already have the most fun jobs and tricking them into playing Tanks is why they are the only role that has Achievement mounts currently.

And let that mount be a coffin with wings that you ride strapped UNDER to represent all the groups you've carried on your backs.

The idea of healers being selfless is a misconception. Any healer who puts the party's wellbeing before their own is still learning how to play. If you decide to save the dps instead of yourself who is going to heal them after you are dead? Doesn't make sense to prioritize anyone but yourself and other healers in any situation. The only exception is when all tanks in an alliance are dead and you have aggro. Then you need to rezz one so that they can take the boss away from you and let you rezz the other healers first before the dps.

Recognition of healers is constantly being given. A person is far more likely to get comms just for playing one, regardless of how they actually performed. And with comms you can get the pegasus mount. It is not the same as the tank mounts but I think that's fine.

As of today, healer queues are instant for almost any piece of content that you use df to queue for. As far as roulettes are concerned even if the adventurer in need is a tank and you queue as a healer, your queue pops up immediately.

The two seat Pegasus Mount comes from running the mentor roulette 2,000 times. Are we really going to consider that the healer Achievement Mount? It's like 20 times more difficult than any tank mount to unlock and you can play a tank or dps exclusively in the roulette to recieve it.

I think SE has its own data of job/ role distribution and the achievement rewards are made to encourage players to play certain roles.
Maybe healers are indeed more popular than tanks.
I looked at some websites that surveys active job based on main hand IL, and the results are Healer numbers are more dominant than tanks across Data Centers
Also, contrary to the knowledge of "healers are more on demand because ShB healers are bad," the number of healers actually rocketed compared to pre ShB.

I second this.
I understand there are less tanks than healers, so they try to give maximum incentive to players to pick up any of the tank jobs, but i do feel like the mount thing is unfair, and a bit overboard to be honest.
There are many other ways to incentivise players to play tank in DF and i wish they would give it more thought.
So yes, in my opinion if tanks can get mounts just by basically playing the game, i think it should be the same for healers and DPS.
