If you don't have any Favorites selected, it will automatically list the last items you crafted on that job. If you have fewer than the max number of Favorites selected, it will fill up the remaining slots with the most recently crafted items. Selecting Favorites will overwrite listed items that weren't marked as Favorites and will automatically sort to the top of the list.
There's no way to prevent it from happening but it doesn't prevent you from Selecting your Favorites at least.
Have you actually pinned anything as a favourite, or are you assuming it's a "most frequent" list?
You know that you can actually select favorites? And when the window those favorites are shown in is filled with the history of what you've done, how easy is it (with a bad memory) to chose the wrong item? Think before you comment, and especially when your comment is as negative as this!
The feature is still helpful for those who end up crafting the same item on a regular basis, even if they don't want to mark it as a Favorite for quick access.
Favorites also have a small red-orange pin icon next to them (at least they do if you're using PC, not sure about PS4). It's not hard to tell which recipe is one that you actually marked as a Favorite and which is listed there because you recently crafted it.
If you don't want other stuff to appear, then pick 10 items as Favorites so they can't be replaced on the list.
Because despite having pinned favourites and presumably observed that they appeared in the list with a pin icon next to them, you said your list was "full" of things you hadn't selected and when you got the explanation why, you acted as if the list was no use at all.
You've posted in the past about game issues assuming that they work a particular way when they do something else entirely. So it was a possibility you misunderstood this too. Better to check and confirm.
Yes, I do know that it's possible to actually select favourites, that's kind of the point of the system.
I also know that these favourites are all tagged with a red pin, causing them to stick to the top of the list, and to not be pushed off by any recently crafted items. Which has already been stated by the few posts above this one, by now.
Yes, but I do not understand what history has to do in favorites, they should be in their own window, not in a window that's labeled favorites. That's what I said, so why are you arguing? Isn't it obvious? You label the window according to what's in it, and I seriously dislike inconsistency.
There's nothing inconsistent about it. It's a favourites menu that also happens to show history and always has this function. The word you're looking for is incongruity.
P.S. If you want to complain about a favourites system in the game that actually needs work, take a look at the Teleport menu. Destinations you mark as discounted teleports appear in the favourites tab, destinations you pin as favourite destinations appear in the History tab, you cannot sort pinned destinations aside from manually un-pinning them and then re-pinning them in the reverse order you want them to appear in the list, and making use of the world visit system just straight up deletes any residential destination pins that you have.
I have the same issue with the tab. I'm getting into crafting, but the fact that recent recipes are automatically shoved in the "Favorite" tab just adds a lot of clutter for little reason, imo. It's strange to me that the "Favorites" tab is in its own "Extras" category alone, when it would benefit a lot from having a "Recent" tab under it and removing all this visual clutter from the "Favorites"
