So do you think we will get more Hildibrand?

Lat time we saw him our hapless hero was sucked through a portal to the gods knows where - Do you think we will get further adventures at some point in the future.

I would hope we do I liked those quests.

I think I saw an interview where Yoshi said they're putting it on hold so it doesn't get stale. But I can't remember for the life of me where said interview was.

I remember reading that too. It's likely they had him go through the portal last expansion to keep their options open.

The way the last one ended, I was expecting to find him somewhere in Norvrandt.

Making (good) cut-scenes is hard.

I felt the whole store was too silly to continue, and there weren't any significant rewards from it (gear / mounts), so I stopped running the quests long ago.

Some things you can do.... without a reward.

It's a really fun quest line with a good amount of likeable characters. I can't wait for it to come back.

I'm glad it's on a break, honestly. I'm not convinced it's even all that popular given how long it takes to find a group for the latest trial even during peak hours...

I enjoyed the Moogle Delivery quests much more. They had a nice balance between goofy and serious quests whilst also fleshing out the game's lore in the process. Hildibrand's style of humour is very one note and feels completely disconnected from everything else in the game.

it was in a JP Game Watch Interview for 5.2 discussion. They are taking a break from Hildy for some time as they don't want it to become stale and they don't have the translation/localization resources available to do it either because they are creating other new content instead. (the new relic questline for example).

I'd love to see more, but I really don't see how Hildy's brand of humor could work on the First.

Although I wouldn't mind a short sidequest or two of Godbert and Julyan trying to find him. And somehow end up with Enkidu or Daigoro or something instead.

Sounds like we're getting less content in general this expansion. Not sure how to feel about that. I hope whatever they're doing is good. I've enjoyed all the relic stuff, but i'm done with it now and playing other things. Not really anything to come back to the game for at the moment. Still subscribed to support the developers, but just waiting on 5.3 to bring the goods.

Honestly, as much as I like Hildy, I would prefer something fresh. Sure, I have gone through the story up to now, but a newer player would have so much to catch up on.

I would honestly like something of Hildy quality, but maybe a one off in each expansion. Even if this one off went back to add content to older area, I’d be fine.

Possible avenues are things like the situation in Ishgard post HW (kinda being done in the restoration), helping out the “next generation of heroes” on the first (establish a grand company of sorts?), etc.

Basically a fairly good chunk of content with a good story (humorous, scary, serious, political... all good for me)

The divisiveness of opinion showcased here, is probably why they feel their attention can be better placed elsewhere. Combine the wind down in content now that the game is aging and add things like the global pandemic; and its likely you won't hear much soon.

Personally I like the quests a fair amount but then it suits a certain demographic of people well; most of my Japanese friends adore it and we have a very kitsch taste where we are all from irl. I personally agree with the sentiment that it doesn't have to be frontloaded with rewards to justify it, thats a pretty mundane way to see a multilayered game! But what we want and what we get, whatever side we are on; well thats probably going to be much more limited going forward as said, regardless.

So fingers crossed theres something for everyone sooner rather than later.

I'm hoping we do at some point. Always enjoy those quests.

I'm sure he'll eventually end up in Norvrandt, whether they actually get it out in 5.x or not is another thing.

Most likely 6.0 at this point.

If he doesnt appear in 5.3 or 5.35 then we know for sure its a 6.x release for the next quest line.

I hope. At this point, i'll be happy with just one of the 5.x patches having Hildi stuff

my guess is we will probably see him in 6.x or even 7.x
